Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
Creative Vision
We wanted a game that realized that cooking for your loved ones is a generous task. Although cooking is fun, it can be stressful while balancing life's other responsibilities. Flavor of warmth incorporates this idea by requiring the player to complete tasks for their and mom and friends, while making dumplings.

Theme
Your mom is hurt, and you're asked by the doctor to server as her primary in-home caretaker. As you make dumplings for her, you must simultaneously balance the responsibility of caretaking for your mom and responding to your friends. Choose what you need to sacrifice to finish making dumplings in time for your mom!

I loved how the mechanics of this game worked with the themes of generosity and care! I think cooking and sharing food is truly one of the most profound forms of care and generosity and you captured that beautifully! Good job!!

I really enjoyed the gameplay!! Multitasking hahah  having to make choices on what to do at the moment. And i think it is quite beautiful to see connection in food as well!! How cooking brings us all together :)

Aside from the fact that I'm a die-hard fan of cooking games so of course I love the cooking gameplay, I also really like how the game incorporates the whole balancing taking care of your mother as well as yourself. It's a small but impactful addition that makes me enjoy it a lot more than if it was just like any other cooking game, and it ties into the theme very well. Wonderful work, kudos to your team!

This had such a warm atmosphere! I really liked the feel of the mincing physics. I definitely felt the stress of trying to get dinner done in time. Overall great game, I liked that it was short and sweet.

Dear Flavor of Warmth Team, very well done! The message is impactful and clear. The way it was executed was wonderful, cute drawings, great game design and music/ sound that kept me up and alert. Hope to see more from you!

Ahh another gem of a game that should have more ratings!! I saw this game right after submission and wanted to play it but it got lost somewhere.

I love the vibe of this game so much!! The chopping was satisfying i wish could do it till it got like really minced as was shown in the picture (but thats prolly just me 😂), i just wanted to keep on going. The way you also implemented taking care of the mother and friends was interesting, with a mini map thingy.

Loved it!! Awesome art style, gameplay, music, sounds and animations.

Hi, it's Chris!

This really hits home for me, as a Vietnamese who grew up with a mother who never cooked. On my first run, I was so busy chopping, dicing, cutting (amazing mechanic, btw), I didn't realize there was this whole other layer of mommy and self management that I lost! Coming back and finishing the game, I paid attention to the nostalgic, bittersweet music coming together with the story as well (the ending seems a touch unrealistic, knowing most Asian moms would never be that cute and vulnerable about their relationships with their husband and daughter outwardly--but I preferred leaving things on a good note like you guys chose to, rather than criticizing the cooking or inquiring about a suitor, or any other hair-tugging topic).

I'm glad I found your game (thanks to the wonderful cover art, the typeface, and the name) and hope you guys take this cooking mechanic further. Great, great job for 3 weeks!
