Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
Granny’s Home started with the two of us brainstorming. Generosity made us think of giving—not just objects, but time, care, and effort. That led us to talk about our own grandmothers, who were both known for their generosity. They both lived through the Great Depression, which left them with a deep resistance to waste. We had both been through that stage where they needed help letting things go—when the house is full to bursting, and everything sparks a memory (and an argument).

Whenever we see each other, we end up talking about family—so this felt like a natural path. We shared stories about stacks and stacks of old newspapers, closets filled with mystery boxes, and the family lore that somewhere, somehow, Grandma definitely has gold bricks hidden in the house.

We started with the obvious idea of generosity: donating to help others. But as the game developed, we realized we were more interested in the quieter kind—being there for someone you love, and offering patience. Not by rushing the process, but by gently helping them through it, again and again. Even when they pull things right back out of the trash.

Granny’s Home is about both kinds of giving—passing good things on, and supporting someone through a difficult transition. It’s also a reminder that real generosity means donating what’s actually useful… not just dropping off your junk and calling it charity.

We wanted the game to reflect both the heart and the humor of this experience—with a light tone and cartoon-inspired comedy that makes space for laughter, even in life’s messier moments.

I felt like such a good robot in Granny's Home, that robot can WALK! I like the idea of generosity in terms of decluttering for someone you love, and the double meaning of also donating the usable but unneeded items. I relate to the tough position of helping people I love through these moments of transitions and sometimes it takes a strong bond to help someone let things go. You achieved that deep emotional connection and sense of love through an actual robot! How did you all do it so well? I don't know, maybe it was the honest reflection and implementation of you own experience, or maybe it was the choices the player faced in such a simple but cohesive world, or maybe magic~

I can tell a lot of thought and effort went into this game, congrats on creating such a polished game within the timeframe!

The chaotic feeling and goofy vibe reminded me of the beloved Overcooked! I could totally see two players scrambling around to help grandma.

Played this with my laptop trackpad and my hand’s sore now haha, but that was so fun! Just had to finish and get neat at least for my own satisfaction.

The creative vision/rationale was quite moving for me, especially relatable for my family as well. Home doesn’t quite feel like home to me without some form of clutter. The BGM was a banger, great work team!

The game is so charming! I really like the models and animations. I bet getting the robot to have all the proper hold animations for the different items took some time, nice job!

I had a lot of fun playing this and you made it easy to learn.

This game looks great. I agree with the comment below that the camera could use some work, also maybe adding keyboard controls may make it easier to move around as I found myself clicking a lot to get to the next place. Overall great presentation, strong contender!

Story - Cute and clearly made from the heart. As silly as it was, I definitely felt the emotional difficulty of helping our elders transition into a new phase of their life through this game.

Mechanics - Really easy to move and pick up objects. I liked that there was some feedback that told me if something I was grabbing was donate-able or trash, but I wasn't sure when I was getting rid of something that was important. The first thing I donated was the vase and that got me a deduction right off the bat! I think the camera could use a little work as well - I often found myself trying to click past the edges of the camera when walking from the kitchen/bedroom back to the living room. It's like the camera couldn't keep up with me or something.

Theme - The theme was light, but definitely there and definitely full of heart.

Audio/Visual - Great models - loved the robot! The music was also fun and bouncy!

Overall - Really nice game with some quirky fun mechanics and a story that digs a little deeper than you might expect upon first glance. Great work!

The tone and setting of the game appears so light-hearted; but it is so evident you have poured your heart and soul into the theme - I can see how rooted it is in a real-life context. It is not at all easy to convey a theme with as much as depth as this with the kind of respectful humour you had! Made it playable on browser too, well done!

My only comment will be - I was wondering whether the players will be able to make informed choices...you have given some amount of feedback through text - but I did wonder if it will be enough to decide. But the game does allow you to make some mistakes..and I guess we all make mistakes while trying to be there for our loved ones, don't we?

I really like the concept! I love sorting things, and games that use that concept. I also was struggling to decide what to keep for granny and what to donate, heh. But that's the point, so very well done on that part :)
On the gameplay: I wish the timer was longer. In my second round since I new more about the items from the first, I was still racing to donate and throw away as much as possible so that granny can move. I also noticed when I was trying to donate the knit magazines (I would donate them since people love knitting) the character was colliding with them and they basically flew out of the donation box. So I don't know if they have to be kept or trashed, or if that was a bug.
I had fun, very well done guys :)

Hey it's Chris!
I loved the way robot swayed to the funky, light music. The music really matched the mood you were going for. Also, having granny following me around, almost trying to bring back her things, I can hear mine saying, "wait, don't take that one! I need that!!" Really great work for a jam! -Yours truly, the guy who accidentally donated granny's gold bar (.. I'm sorry..)
