I think a concept like this has a lot of potential but unfortunately the gameplay is too simplistic imo. The way the player walks forward only to be teleported back as the camera repositions itself is a bit annoying. Being able to leave a mark is neat but there isn't really any way to interact with other player's marks, like maybe being able to leave them a message back. I wasn't sure if there was an end to the game but I wandered for a while up the mountain before stopping. I get the intent behind it, but it would have been nice to see a bit more done with this concept with a stronger tie to the theme. Still a neat little experience, nice work!

Very interesting interaction, would love to see it get developed more with some more narrative. I see what you did there btw with the mountain being the goal, very niceuu

Very cool! I'd love to know what you might've accomplished or planned if you had more time.

sure! The initial idea is totally different to what I end up doing. The asynchronous part is still an important part, but there's also a synchronous feature: you can meet people with the same steps and trade items with them. The items do not contain any battling values, but the notes left by other players. You can also regift the items to other players!  The items will show its initial owner's name and maybe it will trade back to you one day. Different backgrounds were also planed so that players can stop by and make paintings of the field and send to other players.

Sooo, is there a goal?

It was nice looking at the notes but I was a little confused as to what to do.

Developer

Thanks for trying! The goal is... whenever you decide to quit, that's the goal. You see, I wished to make a metaphor of people trying hard to do something. For me, making games is the journey that I'm taking on: I kept making and learning about it, just like every step I took along this journey. And right here your post, those tutorial videos, or whatever people I met during me making games, are the notes along this journey. Is there a goal? Well, maybe those milestones are reached when I launch my games, when they are sold well and even won awards, but will I stop making games when I hit those achievements? I say I won't, and I wish it never ends. Hope you get what I mean after the explanation!

Really interesting technique for storing a database! That seems quite accessible for small developers. Fun little experience, it gives me the same feeling as finding messages in Dark Souls.

It was nice seeing everyone's notes along the path! Made sure to leave my own notes for future travelers!

Cool idea, nice to see all notes from other players. I'm curious how far you can go

good concept! as an early player, I may not have much messages to see, but I know my messages will be seen by travelers that come after.
