Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
The theme of generosity shows up through the floating pumpkin character named Patch. He continuously aids the player throughout the game and saves their life multiple times. (Spoilers!) At the end, he even offers to sacrifice himself to let the player live again.

Really beautiful graphics! I see the potential for this game to become something really interesting!
Game kept crashing unfortunately as I was trying to play it. Even after lowering the graphics. I can't comment much the gameplay but the looks are very cool! Quite impressive to make as a solo dev!
Thanks for playing! Sorry about the crashes, most likely a vram issue I'd guess since I didn't have too much time to optimize the vram usage unfortunately
Dear Dobrx, fantastic game. You managed to make an immersive experience with great story, combat, and visuals! Did you make all the assets yourself? Regardless, amazing cohesion overall- very vibey :> good luck with future projects and all that you do!
Thank you so much! I did not make all the assets myself, but I did modify almost all of them to make them fit with the kind of pixelated/retro mixed with realistic lighting look. As for the character sprites, I did make all of those using a tool that lets me convert 3d animation to 2d sprite sets
I really enjoyed this! Absolutely love what you did with the art and atmosphere. The lighting, the detailed pixel art, the colours and mood are so cohesive. The level of polish here is impressive, I would have loved to see what you did with this had you more time without your sickness. Hope you feel better now at least!
Thanks so much for playing! I'm really glad you liked it and your game was super cool too
I really was looking forward to playing this game, but unfortunately even at the lowest graphic settings, I kept getting and “out of video memory, allocate a rendering resource” issue when I hit start, which is odd ‘cause my laptop has been able to run much larger games like RDR2 in the past. I’m unsure why, but I figured I’d leave a comment anyway to let you know!
Thanks for giving it a try! Unfortunately the game does use around 5-6 gigs of video memory which is likely why you ran into the issue (I assume you have either a 4 or 6 gig card). This is mainly because of the sprite sets for the player and enemies, as those are pretty high resolution, decently high frame rate, and are generated for 8 different directions, so they end up using a lot of video memory to keep that all loaded. Again I'm sorry you couldn't play it, I wish I had more time to optimize it :(
Hey I really like what you have so far, it's really unfortunate you couldn't work on it more. The character art works surprisingly well, super cool
One of the best jam games I've played in all the jams I've done. Simple but polished and well executed. I didn't understand why you'd introduce a stamina mechanic only to remove it the very next encounter, but it's not like that affected how much I enjoyed the game. The combat was surprisingly fun and I absolutely love all the polish that went into it. Overall great game, can't complain
Thanks so much for playing! As for the stamina mechanic, I was gonna use it more but ended up getting sick near the end of the jam so didn't have the energy to add as much as I would have liked. That's why it feels weirdly thrown in there (because it kind of is in its current state lol). Thanks again for playing though and I'll give your game a shot!
