Hello, I'm a lighting/camera artist looking to join an established team working in Unreal Engine. I've been working in Unreal Engine for over 3 years. I'm typically a programmer and designer, but instead of programming, I want to re-sharpen my lighting and camera skills that were once the center of my attention. I can help debug code or guide programmers if someone is really stuck, and I can handle the whole of production if we need that, but I'd love to stick to lighting and camera work :)

You can find my lighting and camera work here: https://michaeldurkin_codes.artstation.com/

I already posted in the discord but I figured I might as well post here too:

Thank you so much for playing, and for the feedback!

Thank you so much for playing, and for the kind words! Sorry about the crash, we have a build that fixes it but can't update the jam version until voting is over

Thank you very much for playing!

This has some pretty good writing in it. Usually jam games have pretty terrible writing but this was actually okay for me, although there was a spelling mistake in the first dialogue option LOL. I thought the combat was super clunky and pretty frustrating, but overall I enjoyed my time with the game. Nice job!

My heart breaks a little every time I hear someone crashed ): I'm glad you enjoyed your time with it though! Thanks for playing :)

haha that's the nature of jams, I didn't hold it against you

Thanks so much for playing, and for leaving such thoughtful feedback!

Hello! There is a bug in this build where the game crashes if you deliver to a customer right before the hour changes. If you wait until the start of the hour to deliver to a customer, you should be able to avoid the crash. I've created a version that fixes this bug and have requested that the host accepts the new build.

I enjoyed this entry! I thought the sleeping mechanic was a little clunky, and the "You were ambushed, food -5" text showed up every time I got an achievement (helping Dia follower and recruiting the other adventurer". Overall this was a fun little game

This game's atmosphere is great! I thought the movement controller was a little clunky, and i couldn't figure out how to get rid of the ghoul guys, but i like the concept. Nice job!

Thank you for playing! Yes unfortunately we found out about the crashing after the jam deadline, it's really disappointing, but it's the nature of jams after all. I appreciate the feedback! Happy to hear someone actually read the guide haha

One of the best jam games I've played in all the jams I've done. Simple but polished and well executed. I didn't understand why you'd introduce a stamina mechanic only to remove it the very next encounter, but it's not like that affected how much I enjoyed the game. The combat was surprisingly fun and I absolutely love all the polish that went into it. Overall great game, can't complain

I love the sound and vfx for the hoverboard, they're really cool! At first the controls felt really clunky but they smoothed out a bit after i got used to how the board worked. It was definitely fun just riding around, although i really hated bottoming out and losing control. And i couldn't tell a difference in what was happening in the air when i held crouch/jump or drift. Minor issues though, overall it was fun!

A cute game for sure! I unfortunately didn't make it very far, the road crossing minigame is fun but way too difficult for what it is, in my opinion. The camera moves too fast in proportion to the slow-moving cars and it seems like it's more about getting a lucky break in traffic than actually timing my moves, and with seemingly no way to exit the minigame this was definitely a pain point for me. I loved the bit that I played though!

Do playtesters count towards our team count? We'd love to have playtesters but don't want that to disqualify us. Thank you in advance!

Hi Jeff! The invite links are invalid. Would you mind posting fresh invites again? Thanks for making one, by the way!

Thanks so much for playing!

very thoughtful feedback! A simple solution might be to not grant their grab ability until the shift starts 🤔  thank you for playing!

I found someone that looked like Mitt Romney. The resemblance was uncanny but they didn't know what I was talking about. Anyway this was a super unique game with very culturally significant slang and snoop dogg. very funny game, found myself chuckling a few times. nicely done!

As an avid overwatch player I was definitely locked in for this one. I must have killed a thousand mochi. MOCHI ANNIHILATED it's hard to go wrong with simple fps mechanics, nice job!

nice job! Thanks again for playing!

Food and wine are on the table near the prison fire, but not finding it is perfectly fine in a world full of idiots lol thank you for playing!

Thanks for playing!

Tried really hard to do stuff but was ultimately only able to run around, turn on the flashlight, open doors, and read notes. Then I died lol the level design is very impressive-looking, nice job!

Very well polished game, I'm super impressed. You would think if the store owner was gonna be so strict about shopper satisfaction, they'd provide better tools to do the job. Such is life. Wonderful little game, you should be proud of this :)

Got a few nullptr issues when rotating conveyers and a couple crashes that stopped me from being able to continue (honestly that's expected for a week long jam), but the concept was fun. The art is absolutely incredible and the sound and music really help elevate the game. The controls were smooth and the vibe is immaculate. Nice job!

mostly dark and darker assets. The cave troll, skeleton army pack, and medieval armor pack are the main 3 that come to mind. And another monsters pack that's not in DaD. Most of the animations are from the animals beast heroes pack or something, and the first person mage animations pack. The UI and wall art/end game screens were hand made

I think having a spell instead of potions would have been a great idea, good suggestion. Thank you for playing!

everything was indeed made in a month, although we used mostly marketplace assets for the art. Thank you so much for playing!

I'm glad you enjoyed our game! The checkpoint system was almost done but we had to fix a lot of other things and ran out of time before we could implement it. I agree though, it would save a lot of time. Thank you so much for playing!

thanks so much for playing!

Well damn. This did not feel like a jam game. The atmosphere, music, pickup sounds, and just general vibe was immaculate. I absolutely loved how picking up coins played a sound that added to the music so subtly but also made you feel like you did something right. This game wasn't buggy, was smooth, I actually beat it in a decent amount of time and got all the collectables. It really is a lot to ask for in game jams, but this game just took polish to another level. Literally the only critique I can offer is to tell the player when exactly they're allowed to control the camera. A little mouse icon or something in the UI that pops up will do just fine. Overall, a genuine surprise, 5 stars all around. Very nice game!

You can tell how much effort went into making this game. From a great (albeit a little slow) intro, to an impressive world, many secret doorways and beyond, I was definitely impressed playing this game. It didn't feel like a jam game which is not something I say lightly. I'll admit the interactions with NPCs was a little clunky and I definitely didn't understand how the AI would behave, but maybe that's because I was a tyrant who killed without care of who saw. Forcing others to kill for me while I dragged the body away in front of a crowd seemed to have pissed a few people off. Drag one dead body away after it's been freshly murdered and everyone loses their mind. People nowadays. Anyway, really cool game!

Definitely a unique visual style in this game which offered some reprieve from the movement. Making jump and dash cost energy makes sense in a game like this, but not being able to walk up stairs and instead having to jump over them is not very intuitive in a game where the only way to progress is to have energy. Beyond that I like how you took a simple concept and turned it into something unique. Slamming enemies was definitely my favorite part!

We had a checkpoint system 75% of the way done but needed to fix other things before we got it fully implemented. Disappointing, but I think the game is in a better place because of that sacrifice. Thank you so much for playing!

Very nice game! I think the UI wasn't capable of handling my screen because there were some weird issues with overlapping boxes but other than that this was a short game that kept me entertained for its duration. The voice acting was a nice touch, you never see that in game jam games. Nice job team!

I agree the lightning spell is really strong, we wanted to make sure players could complete the game without finding a single other spell, just in case! Thank you so much for playing!
