Thanks for playing! Sorry about the crashes, most likely a vram issue I'd guess since I didn't have too much time to optimize the vram usage unfortunately

Thank you so much! I did not make all the assets myself, but I did modify almost all of them to make them fit with the kind of pixelated/retro mixed with realistic lighting look. As for the character sprites, I did make all of those using a tool that lets me convert 3d animation to 2d sprite sets

Thanks so much for playing! I'm really glad you liked it and your game was super cool too

Thanks for giving it a try! Unfortunately the game does use around 5-6 gigs of video memory which is likely why you ran into the issue (I assume you have either a 4 or 6 gig card). This is mainly because of the sprite sets for the player and enemies, as those are pretty high resolution, decently high frame rate, and are generated for 8 different directions, so they end up using a lot of video memory to keep that all loaded. Again I'm sorry you couldn't play it, I wish I had more time to optimize it :(

Really cool art style, great job!

Thanks man! Here's my game and I'll check yours out now :)

Nice little boss fight game, I like the different stages to the boss fight and the art for the boss is also really cool. A bit more feedback on successful hits (like some subtle screen shake) would help with the game feel a bit, but still the game was fun, nice job!

This is one of the coolest menus I've ever seen, super cool visual style for this game props to whoever did the art! The piano is also really good, definitely one of my favorite games in the jam so far nice job :)

Simple but fun game! I liked the visuals a lot and the story of the kid was interesting too, also liked how you introduced a new mechanic every level to prevent it from getting stale. There were more unreal engine games in this jam than I expected, always good to see another UE dev! Good job :)

Just gave it a shot and I think that you mentioned that the build you uploaded was unfortunately broken which I think was why I couldn't really move anywhere when I spawned in the world. Despite that, I really liked the intro cinematic and the audio too, it had a really nice atmosphere and I wish that I could have experienced more of the game!

Nice to see another UE developer here! This game was fun and I really liked the main character dog model lol, super cute how it wags its tail as you run around. The setting for the game is also cool and I liked the parkour challenges. Good job overall!

I love the visual style in this game! Its really unique and has an appealing color scheme. The game idea is solid too, it was fun to drive around and invest in properties and things, it reminds me of monopoly lol. One thing I noticed is that the car collisions were a bit messed up and it wouldn't really let me drive around one of the blocks, but other than that it worked as intended I think. Good job!

This game has some really cool visuals and the mechanics are simple but nice! I think that a bit of text at the start maybe giving the player some context as to what they are doing and where they are would be helpful to ground them, though this isn't totally necessary since its a game jam and you wrote it in the description. I collected a few purple orbs and then I tried to jump over a ravine but got stuck at the bottom lol, not sure where I was supposed to go after that but I still enjoyed the game, nice job!

Cool little game! I liked the sorting minigame and how you have to kind of guestimate what house to deliver to. I wasn't totally sure what to do after sorting the mail tho, as the deliver mail button doesn't seem to do anything (though I might just be doing it wrong lol). Either way nice job!

Very cool and cozy game! Love the different mechanics and it reminds me of a more in-depth version of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's blacksmithing.

Thanks so much for playing! As for the stamina mechanic, I was gonna use it more but ended up getting sick near the end of the jam so didn't have the energy to add as much as I would have liked. That's why it feels weirdly thrown in there (because it kind of is in its current state lol). Thanks again for playing though and I'll give your game a shot!

Here's mine if you want to check it out, will give yours a shot now!

On the game jam page there is a submit button I think where the time left in the jam part is

I'd love that discord link if you have it!

Cool concept! I found it fun talking to the coworkers and also found the boss in his office. I had a bug though where I could choose one of the three dialogue options when talking to the boss but then the continue button just didn't work. Other than that though I found it fun, nice job!

3 dollar paycheck letsss goooooo

Great little game, I really like the puzzle designs and the idea fits well with the theme. The one thing I didn't love was the music as it got kind of repetitive after like 15 minutes (mostly when I was just failing on one level because I'm incompetent but still lol).

Amazing art style and great game feel, nice job bro! I actually just sat down and kept playing this game for like 30 minutes because it was that fun lol, rip my productivity

Yeah I have a ton of respect for composers and sound effect people because that shit is insanely hard! I don't know what happened with the composer but the early work he showed me was super solid so I think he has a ton of skill, no bad blood between us at all or anything, sometimes life just gets in the way

Thank you! I did not compose the music since I have no skill at making music whatsoever lol. I was going to work with a composer but they kinda just disappeared halfway through so I ended up just finding music online instead.

Oh that is actually a really smart idea, I think I'll test that out and see if I can get that implemented! Thanks for playing :)

I've never seen an art style like this before but I absolutely love it! Super creative and this game definitely has an insane amount of personality to it. Great job bro!

Thank you so much for playing, I'm really glad you liked it!

No problem about the technical issues, that's super common in game jams and I've definitely experienced it myself before as well. What matters is you use it in the future to improve and you already have a super good base so I think your future projects are going to be super cool! I already mentioned this but I really love the art style since I'm a sucker for retro games lol.

Thanks for playing, I'm definitely considering making it into a full game so that might happen some day soon!

I really enjoyed this game! I love tower defense games especially so it was really cool to see one of those here. The one thing that looked a bit unpolished to me was the ground texture, but other than that it all looked very good. Nice job!

Thanks so much man! Honestly the part I was most worried about was how people would interpret the theme but I'm really glad you thought it matched. I agree with the machine gun feedback, I initially had it take more health when missing but my single playtester had awful aim so he told me to make it less so I did (should have just told him skill issue though lol)

(1 edit)

Oh ok update I managed to get into the game but the screen is a tiny window for some reason, the graphics are still really cool though! Also just did the boss fight and the animations are surprisingly good, especially for a game jam. I think with some polish this game could be something really amazing!

Hey this game looks really cool in the screenshots but unfortunately I think I found a bug because the UI kept like printing over itself right when I press enter? It says I died like 15 times repeatedly and I'm not really sure how to progress lol

Love the art style and the gameplay is unique and creative! I think that the down arrow shield thing was a bit inconsistent maybe as sometimes I pressed it but still died? Other than that though I really enjoyed it, nice job!
