How does your game fit the theme?
The only way to save your girlfriend is to go deeper underground to the Kidnappers INC secret underground base! (even if you never see the base in game)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes besides some of the songs which are just arrangements caramelldansen that I made.

Good 80s feeling on this game. It is quite hard and I was able to pass only 2 levels.

Good job.

The game is really hard, but the visuals is pretty great.

Really nice art style, I like this very much.

Real nice arcade-y action. The chiptunes and the pixel art fit really well together. It does need a bit of balancing on the stages, but overall it is an enjoyable little game. Good Job!

A true arcade game feel :) Really simple and everything seem to work as expected. Loved the retro art and chiptunes. Truly fun!

Loved the cute art style and the audio, they made me feel nostalgic. Maybe I found the difficulty scaling a bit drastic between the 1st and the 2nd level. But overall it's great and engaging.

Congrats!

Super cute, I love the chiptune sound and the aesthetics were spot on for that kind of classic arcade game! Definitely a lot harder than I expected, I do think the hitboxes on the sparks are a bit too big (I died while still on the platform in front of them multiple times) and the fall damage seems kinda arbitrary about where is and isn't ok to fall from. Those things aside though, I really liked it. Also trans rights, woo!!!

The spark hitboxes are actually meant to be able to hit you while your on a platform though they should still be visible. Yea the fall damage is not the best as for some reason instead of tracking the players speed or how long they are falling I just made it based if you go into a checkpoint that you can't see lol.  Glad you enjoyed it!

Hey, really nice job, I think this game is super fun and has a lot of potential if you ever want to continue with it in the future! The music is catchy and fits with the retro theme of the game very well, and the pixel art is great. It got pretty difficult at a certain point but that kind of fits the theme of retro platformers like this I think. Overall, you made a great game and I'd love to see it continued!

I love the retro feel to it. Really good game! It does get pretty difficult but it only adds to the feel of the game. Overall a really good entry

I'm a sucker for retro games and this really brings out the DK Vibes. I like the graphics, the audio matches perfectly. The only comment would be the difficulty scaling, literally the second jump already is a painful one for people that aren't familiar with platformer games. But overall I really like this entry, it's one of my favorites so far !

Thanks! The game is meant to be a little more on the hard side  like any good arcade game should honestly. I can see why the second stage is way to hard though, its tough for even myself to beat some times with that first jump and I normally just cheese it myself. Glad you enjoyed it!
