How did you incorporate the theme and lore?
Well you have to break out of the system and you'll "break" it during the gameplay.

Also the lore part is like a description of a thing that happens at the end-part of the game. (I don't want to spoil it here)

Hey there! Sorry for no written review, but I did stream your game here!

Developer

Don't worry about it. You gave me a lot of feedback during the livestream.
Thanks again for playing!

Submitted

Hey bro for me the it is windowed and i can't make it original size!!!!!!!!!!!!

Developer

does it start in a windowed mode?

Or is just the game border smaller?

Developer

If the white game border is smaller you can just zoom in with ctrl + scrollwheel

Submitted

it starts windowed mode!

Developer

thats reallly weird. What windows version and net framework version do ya have?

Submitted

I have Windows 8.1 pro and NET framework idk about that

Developer

ok, windows versions below 10 are acting kinda weird so thats probably it :(

Submitted

Interesting world you created. I like it.

Developer

Thanks! BTW did you beat the game?

Submitted

I did not...wandered around for a little bit  . A quest tracker or something might help but   since I   still have a lot of submissions to go through I moved onto the next. If I end up having some free time after doing more ratings thought I'll definitely come back to it and try to beat it

Developer

Sure! Since theres quite a bit to do. (Also did you get to the terminal?)

Submitted (1 edit)

I did not. I might have but didn't have the memory for it? not sure

Developer

yep thats probably it. You need to read all the memories ya got

Submitted(+1)

Can we get a WebGL version? Pleaaaseeeeee

Developer

Sorry, but since the game is not written in Unity and uses the actual console window, that won't be really possible...

Submitted

okay, and I'm guessing you prob don't have a mac as well. :(

Submitted

Hey the exe  stops working. I trying to open it and it crash :(

Developer(+1)

Hmmmmm... Could you tell me your OS and hownyou tried zo launch it?

Submitted

it's window seven, i only use double click to open

Developer(+1)

you might need either a newer os or a newer version of net framework i think

Submitted(+1)

Had a blast playing even tho I'm horrible at RPGs. The best feature is the time machine.

Developer

Thanks! Hope the game was not too confusing though.

Submitted(+1)

I like the console system it takes the game and makes it stand out. Really fun game :D

Submitted

Wanted to play but there is only a Windows build and I’m on Linux. Tried with Wine but no luck.

Developer

Did you get any special errors? If you would really want to play the game, I would probably suggest a vm then. But I'm not sure if you want to go through that trouble of setting one up (If you don't have one).

Submitted

seems similar to my game, just less fun?

Developer

Can you elaborate?

Submitted

The rpg  & map style is similar. It's just that your game runs worse and seems much simpler.

Submitted

I mean it was made in a custom engine, which is insanely impressive.

Submitted

I made my game entirely in java so that's just knowing how to code. what's more. the fact that he made his own game engine kinda  bit him in the ass, the game would almost not run and the screen wasn't sized properly on my computer.

Submitted (1 edit)

First of all you can resize the screen by using control and the scroll wheel, second of all there aren't that many people who can make their own game engine. Also the game ran fine I don't know what you mean.

Submitted

on my computer it would run at less than 15 fps at all times. Considering that this is an extremely simple 2d , black and white, tiny map type of game, there is no reason why it should be running so slow. For example, i can run the game I developed that has a much larger map and  50+ ai's  moving around the map at at least 30 fps . Given that i'm on a trip and on my laptop, this might be why it ran slowly, but regardless, the game is optimized veryvery poorly.

Submitted(+1)

I don't really see why that matters for a game jam game but ok

Developer(+1)

Well it kinda runs in the console and it won't run a lot faster without either major optimisations or by using stuff like opengl or some graphics rendering library. (which your game probably uses) Also the fps is capped at 20 FPS and for most people that have either played or playtested it, it wasn't a problem.

Submitted

given that you are using a laptop you are probably using an intel pentium with integrated graphics

Submitted

I'm sure you dont need a Nvidia and 8 core i7 to run a game like this .

Developer(+1)

Have you even played my game? And by play I don't mean wander around for 1 minute and then close it.

Developer(+1)

Since I don't really get how its similar to yours and simpler.

Submitted

it's simpler in respect to the graphics, animation, and AI's. It's similar to mine in regard to the  open world adventure aspects. I'm not trying to insult you, but your game is very simple. I played it for around 5 minutes before commenting.

Developer

I can understand the graphics part. They are smaller and are mostly kept in an 8 bit style.

What AI's?  (Only the boss has an AI)

Also both of the games are open worlds, but the worlds are still different.

Sorry, but I don't get your point about the game being simple. Like what was the simple part about it? (imo the game is not really simple)

And how far did you go into the game? (Like did you do any Quests, or saw any NPCs, got any memories, etc)

Submitted

I got to the part where i saw the cloud creature, and then I was lost in the infinite blankness of the map.

Developer(+1)

So you basically almost did nothing. (If I am reading this correctly)

Submitted

I did everything the game offered. if the game was playable, i might have done more.

Submitted

of course it would be its in his own engine

Submitted(+2)

you are less fun 😐

(1 edit) (+1)

You're an idiot, sorry ... Ahh mate he literally made an engine and your game looks like poop....

Your game looks like a 2 year old made it , also I have made my own opengl windowing system in C++ I think using a framework/lib is a little below my paygrade

A little confusing but nice to look around!
