Goal is to beat the system/take advantage of a pizza chain's policy that states your pizza is free if it's delivered in under 30 minutes (not real time). Make the driver later than 30 minutes to get unlimited free pizza. Upon receiving your free pizza..."You can almost feel it's potential as they drop it into your hands"

Yeah ran out of time to balance the difficulty. On hard mode stuff barricading the roads should get destroyed after one hit from the delivery driver after he turns but wasn't sure if that was working properly. Will probably play around with adding damage to the barricades on other modes and tweaking stuff to increase the difficulty on normal and hard mode.
I think the barricade breakage didn't occur since I saw the driver pass by them multiple times and I never had to replace them. It might have been because the rerouting AI didn't think it needed to try to break through the barricade because it had other options but since it was a loop I created it didn't know how to break out of it.
Amazing game well done on the gameplay and original idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you play my game!!!??
this is probably a weird thing to mention but the select sfx was really really satisfying and i kept moving in the menu left and right to hear it 😅
ok ok now actual review:
I love the browser graphics, overall from a game design standpoint and aesthetic very impressive and thorough with amazing attention to details!
couple of notes:
-
not sure if intentional, but you can only move in one axis at a time, and if you click say left, then click up while still holding left the speed resets, you have to do some sort of quick switching click-release-click if that makes sense, hard to get used to but you do get used to it at the end

i just kept moving garbage cans to block roads - would have been neat to have an intro page with the various things you can do maybe also a tracker to where the car is or a path of it would be also neat (maybe make it a bit too easy? but i feel like you can play around it and tweak it), i wasn’t sure what road to block usually so i kept blocking the roads nearest to the house hoping for the best
great work! 🙌
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I wanted to add a mini-map but ran out of time to do that and balance difficulty. The movement was intentional to feel more like an old NES style game and being able to add a little more difficulty but might play around with it after the jam to remove the release to move on a different axis
In-game controls menu is a little wrong... but beyond that this was really neat. I love the 90's style user interface lol.
Pretty fun concept. Took me a minute to figure out what to do, i was just chasing the car around at the beginning :D
Sadly there seems to be a bug where the car ignores boxes and trash bins and just rides through them, so I dunno how to really beat it (although i came really close). The thing is, that is should be quite easy to block off all the roads to your house when the bug doesn’t appear.
hmmm....odd. If this happened on hard mode that might be why or if you even tried hard mode and switched to another difficulty that might cause it. I didn't have much time to fully test hard mode. In hard mode the objects are supposed to get destroyed when hit once. Will see about fixing that though.
Yeah I ran into some loud annoying audio glitch issues I couldn't resolve for the html5 version (also ran a little laggy but not too bad) and currently have no mac exporter plugin for the engine I used :/ - Will see if I can find a solution to the audio issues for the web version and update it when i do
Hi, thanks for making the game. It was a fun creative idea to do the free pizza as breaking the system. The mechanics are smooth and not too rough, but I think having a arrow constantly pointing in the direction of where the car is at would make it a lot easier to plan and strategize. The art is pretty nice too and I enjoy the classic arcade sound style for the game. Overall its a nice game!
Thanks! Yeah all I had time to do was the pizza slice arrow in the top left rotating to point at the delivery driver with a distance meter. Wanted to do mini map instead or even have the arrow follow on the edges of the screen but again ran out of time. Will probably do a post jam update to add that in.
