How did you incorporate the theme and lore?
You have to hack the ships system. Sadly i ran out of time to include the lore approprately.

Controls are on the game page.
The game has no ending yet, you have beaten the game when the music changes.

---!!! ATTENTION !!!---
There is a typo in the LogFile, the ID is supposed to end in 775 not 557

Hey there! I streamed your game and reviewed it before the rating period ended. I enjoyed your game and I hope you had a fun experience!

Yes, i’ve seen it already. You sadly missed the control to open the console. With the ` button (above tab). So you missed all the fun puzzles :O

But great job playing and streaming all the games!

nice. Really pretty and nice

Good game but atleast add a tutorial next time

Developer

If i had had that kind of time :D

So you struggled a lot to figure out how to use items?

I liked the mechanic of using dos. At first, I could not get any programs to run but then I read your typo message and was able to get access granted and open the door. I was not able to get the dos program to work even though I tried every combination of dos and program. It was still an interesting idea I would like to see explored further.

Developer

The dos program is not in the game yet, i ran out of time to implement it :( When you came that far you have solved it!

Love the art style and sound! Controls were a little confusing and the inventory has a bug where the description remains after using an item and takes up a lot of the screen. Great concept too - very original.

Would have been nice to list the controls somewhere. Wasn't quite sure what to do when the lightbulb popped up. Only by randomly hitting keys did I realize I had an inventory. And when I tapped on an item the tooltip didn't seem to want to go away. Cool game otherwise! I liked the vibe.

Developer

The controls are on the game page ;)

But I agree that the way you are supposed to handle items is not really intuitive, I’ll try to make it more clear in an update.

This is a really nice looking and interesting game. I really like the colors and music, and typing in command prompts to solve puzzles was cool. I really loved the color scheme as well.   Unfortunately I wasn't able to get past the puzzle with the security door.  I thought I understood it, using the system name and my userid from the failed attempt to give me permission at the console, but after typing out the command it said my userid wasn't found even though I double checked and made sure it was the right one. So I'm not sure if that was my fault or a bug. Either way I think the collision on those column looking tiles might be off because you can walk through them and walk around out of bounds. I think also the input system in general is kind of off.   Having the inputs be on the left side of the keyboard for wasd and the tilde key, the right side for the i key, and the mouse means no matter how I position my hands I have to take one of them off the keyboard over and over to play. There's also a bug where if you click on an inventory item too fast the item description gets stuck to your cursor until you hover over your inventory again. So overall, I think this is a really cool idea, it just needs some bugs ironed out and the controls reworked a bit. I think you could pretty easily rework it so the  player only has to use the keys to play. Hope to see you flesh it out into a finished game!

I’m soooo sorry, I introduced a typo the id ends with 775 not 557 (I mentioned it on the game page). You got it right, I just messed up, but it was the last Puzzle I managed to include anyway so you basically beat the game :P

I know about the bugs with the columns, it’s because i didn’t quite finish the tile set. The columns are not a thick as usual wall tiles, that’s why you can walk through there. (You can even break into the final room like that :O)

I’m also aware of the issue with the tooltips, I put explicit logic in to prevent this issue (opening and closing the inventory again should help), but somehow it didn’t work (i guess some timing is off). Btw. you can also use the arrow keys to choose the items from the inventory and confirm with enter.

I have to admit, i didn’t think about the controls when designing the game, I just went with something easy to remember (i = Inventory) but i agree that it’s kind a clunky and doesn’t play that well. But I already have a better way to handle this in mind :) (stay tuned)

I’m just glad that the whole thing wasn’t too complicated and you were able to figure it out.

Hey !
I liked the art and the sound ambience, gives a good "stuck in a mysterious space ship" vibe. Unfortunately, I got stuck at a console, unable to interact with it. I see in your controls that you can interact with a console with "grave accent", I think the fact I'm using a keyboard without any accent made me unable to press the input.

Developer (1 edit)

The ‘grave accent’ button is the one usually located above tab

Your keyboard really doesn’t have it?

Submitted

Ooooooooh, ok, to be honest I did open it, but since it's the same input than most game engines console I assumed it was some kind of debug option that was left in the game that I was not supposed to use. But now that I think about it that's probably why it was included. Maybe just work on the wording of the input, cause calling it "grave accent" in a English game is a bit weird.

Developer

I didn’t call it ‘grave accent’, it is the official name of the character ;) Grave Accent Character

I wrote the name of it, because the character is barely visible.

Submitted

I think you missed my point, it's misleading to use an input that is named differently on a different keyboard, on an English keyboard, that input is not a grave accent.
