How did you incorporate the theme and lore?
An evil AI is doing experiments on you where each time you die, you're cloned with your memory mostly intact. You "find" memory fragments that help you remember bits of your past which helps to let you know that this isn't the end. These memories give you the knowledge needed to get through the trials and find the best ending.

It got hard really fast and I wish there was a mouse sensitivity option cause it was really hard to play with that really high default sensitivity. I'm not really a fan of first person platformers and it was hard so I gave up once I reached the more open level and died multiple times ๐
Cool concept.
A very well-made game gives me so many portal vibes that I loved it all the way through. As others have said it was very polished with the full options menu, voice acting, responsive controls, and crisp art/lighting. Decided to follow you want to check out more of your work to inspire my own game-making as I can tell you know what you are doing!
Really fun and good looking entry. controls were super responsive. Secrets were a lot of fun to find.
Amazing game bud!!!
I love the way of the welcoming of the AI after the respawn and that indicates your death count!!!
Not sure what happened... I tried to play on my Mac and it just get's frozen here. I can still hear the game going on though.
Are you on an M1 Mac by chance?
yeah, I didn't think that would have made a difference and Rosetta would have saved it.
I had a huge amount of trouble publishing to M1, and eventually gave up. I think something in my game causes incompatibilities with M1 but no idea what so I too was hoping Rosetta would save it like you said, but I guess not =/
do you plan on having a WebGL
Unfortunately not. The game was designed in linear color space, and webgl builds only support gamma. I tried but everything looked wrong, so I'd have to go and tweak the graphics in every room.
Great submission! Love the art, concept, voice acting and gameplay. Although I was able to stick to the walls at times while falling into the pit of moving fans but that helped navigate it too lol. Intro was a little long but think it would work a bit better if you had the audio playing over some form of gameplay. Really that's my only complaint. Lot of options and settings too which you don't see too often in a jam and was a nice touch for polish. Loved the level/world design!
wow, the polish on this is amazing! This was really fun, I actually loved the AI voice - it was a really nice touch! btw, the lava/red levels were hard to orient myself in btw, so much red and not a lot of contrast, making me feel kind of lost. super polished imo for a gamejam game! great work ๐
also, holy difficulty curve ๐ ๐
A quick bug report:
Love the visuals<3.
Yessss I finally beated this game! Took me a good 15 to 20 mins to beat the lava level for some reason but I did it and everything else felt like a breeze. It was hard, but I had a ton of fun playing this game. The artwork and music in this is so nicely put that seeing and listening to it for so long didn't bother me but rather kept me going lol. The sound effects for the player is the icing on the cake! Awesome work!
Yeah I think I made the lava room a little too hard, and I even nerfed it right before publishing lol
Glad you liked it though!
This was really cool! I got the bad ending and then went back to find all the secrets and get the good ending. The graphical style was really cool and the controls felt good and responsive. As for some minor criticisms, some easing on the camera when you move left and right and it tilts would be nice. When moving around really fast it did make me a bit nauseous. Also after you've heard the dialogue the first time it'd be nice to be able to skip it especially the opening which goes on for a while. I thought about going back on my own to see what the second bad ending was but I just didn't really want to sit through it a third time. Overall, really impressive game, congrats!
Speedrun mode disables all cutscenes except the ending ones, and unchecking the respawn message option disables the whole "Welcome Test Subject ###" voice line on death, so I've got you covered there :D
Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!
This was pretty awesome! Love the old source engine feel to it
Can anyone beat these times?
