Very polished and fun! Some puzzles seem too hard, but felt very good when I figured them out. Maybe the levels aren’t exactly sorted by difficulty, since the one with a single wooden box was very easy. I would have ended the game sooner, after entering the castle, since that level was final-level worthy. I gave up on the one with goo and boulders ‘cause it’s late here, but I think I will replay this later! The footstep sounds were very lovely, and so were the little touches and animations. Great game and idea.

This game was very entertaining. I like how it progressively gets more difficult. I got stuck on the 4th level, but I don't know if it was me, or the game. Anyway, good job, I did get the adventure vibe. I streamed it on my twitch, in case you want to watch it.

A fantastic game! The puzzles in the game are awesome and really thought out! The sound effects are great! Really enjoyed playing it!

Amazing little puzzle game, though i got stumped on the mirror level :/

Really good game, i love that you tried to do everything by yourself, it's really impressive!
I've spot something in the castle, they are tiles that are on top of monsters (the three roads map).
I don't know if it's normal or a mistake.
Keep up the great work, the game is incredible!

Besides what I wrote I tried to make some videotest including your game. It's my first attempt to making videos, but I really liked it when someone on another jam did this, so I'm trying to give this favor back. Have fun ;)

Yeah, I won!

it`s very fantastic game. The puzzles are complex and very cool. Great game and idea!

Wow, fantastic concept and presentation. The only thing missing really, is the music, and one level seems to be broken.

But other than that, I loved it. Good variety in levels and items. Great job.

And the puzzles are challenging in a good way.

Amazing. This game is really clever and super challenging. I played it a while ago and got stuck thinking it was broken, came back and bam the answer hit me straight in the face. These are really well thought out puzzles and I love ur implementation of death as a mechanic. I could see this game winning it all!

Good game, i liked the concept a lot, i don't really see it related to the concept of "Death must be a core mechanic" but overall had a good time, the level with the goblins in the water with the timing i feel like was presented too soon into the game and i got confused on how to beat it for a bit, but overall good game

Developer

My take on the whole “Death as a core mechanic” was that it didn’t have to be the player dying - just something. So when enemies die, you warp to their location, and the finality of death is present because you can only use each enemy once - cause they’re dead after the fact. I’d say enemy death is a core mechanic because you have to carefully choose when each enemy dies and it is your only way of traversing most levels.

yeah that's fair enough i was just more thinking of player death comparing it to the other games and my own

Pretty beautiful. I liek your pixel art and the sounds. The game was really fun.

As critic: In my opinion this teleporting does not count as dying and the screen does not fit my screen^^

This was very fun ;D great Job one of the best ones in the Jam.

This is a good game. The only problem is the resolution. Doesn't fit my screen completely. The pixel art is neat.

Really cool game, very unique and the art style is amazing. Great amount of levels as well good job :)

I actually enjoyed this one. The concept is neat and the execution is great too. Some puzzles were hard but not too hard.

One critique I may have is that on some levels I wasn't sure if what I did was the intended solution or did I broke the game. For example on the level with 3 bomb-arrow, 2 goo tunnels, 3 goblins and a knight I won without using the third bomb-arrow.

Overall I loved the game. Not too short, not too long. Could be expanded into a bigger game though ;)

Developer

Glad you liked it! Depending on how creative you are, there are a few different routes through some of the puzzles, though I try to  only keep the interesting ones. (A few unintended ways slipped through though...)

This is incredible! One of the earlier levels stumped me quite hard and initially thought there was a bug but i just wasn't thinking outside of the box ! Amazing puzzle design and really great sprite work. I need more levels !!

Developer

Thanks so much! I tried to have a variety of difficulties and just explore different mechanics - will definitely update with more puzzles!

Amazing, honestly best game I've played so far. Love the concept and the puzzles are really good. Not to mention presentation is top notch as well! Just so you know I think there is a bug in the level in the castle with the 2 goblins and one night with water separating them where the tile mapping sometimes renders above them. Didn't at all take away from any experience or any score though dw. Would really love to see this expanded into a fuller experience, but yeah awesome work!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for the bug notice - totally missed that one when I was wrapping this up last night.
