This game is beautiful, great job on the assets, like it's just AMAZING!
The gameplay perfectly feat the jam!!
The little story is a really nice touch!!!
The best game i've seen ;)
Keep up the great work!!!!!

Developer

Ahhh thank you! That is so nice to hear!

Very cute game, and the concept is great. I very much enjoyed it. Good job. :D

Did your team create music too?

Developer(+1)

For music  we either used non copyrighted music that we bought previously and had ready or found non copyright material online during the jam! We hope to learn to make our own music to make this process more personal to us though.

I bloody loved this and I don't actually mind that there were a few (rare) issues with the jump mechanics as that kind of adds to the charm and difficulty of this style. Trying to get 3 stars on every level nearly broke me though, haha!

Developer

Im so glad you enjoyed it! Just watched your clip and the first thing I can see is the resolution issue haha, we definitely need to get that fixed. I can't believe you managed to get 3 stars in all the levels I am quite impressed, thanks for playing our game and sharing it on your channel!

I didn't go into it thinking I was going to actually get them but I couldn't walk away with just one level only being 2 stars 😂😂. The resolution issue was a little odd but thankfully didn't impact the game at all!

Nice game! Design player and environment very well!

Thank you so much!

Great way to use the way you die as a mechanic!

Good pixel art game but resolution problem(which other people also pointed out). Another problem which I felt was the lack of a restart button. Or did it have one ?

Developer

Did you happen to play on browser? We forced the game to open in fullscreen which we thought had fixed the issue. And if you mean a restart button in levels then yes its the R button. If you mean to clear ur save then unfortunately no we did not add that yet :/

Submitted(+1)

The game didn't open in fullscreen. I played on Chrome. Oh I missed the R button. xP

Developer

That is so strange. This is our first time exporting to Web GL so we encountered quite a few speed bumps. We just wanted everyone to have easier access. Hopefully for our next projects we can sort this out ! Thanks for your feedback!

I checked on it again. I have seen when you click on the game window once it just happens to go to fullscreen. If you exit fullscreen there is probably no way of reactivating fullscreen again. I think you can set the presentation Template in unity to default instead of minimal if you want people to just fullscreen now and then.

Developer

Hey! Just wanted to let you know we fixed the resoltion issues and the game should be perfectly playable! (Apart from some other improvements)

Nice!

Very good ! (Music is in my mind now haha)
You're right, we had the same idea (Lazarus) ^^
Did you create all your sprites with Aseprite ? Awesome ! :D

Developer(+1)

Yes! They were all made using Aseprite. I have been using it for years and really love the program!

Submitted(+1)

Really great job! Having the controls and mechanic instructions woven into the levels was a nice touch, and each new type of obstacle was given its own time to shine. Would love to see it flushed out even further!

Game looks great! Not sure if it was my monitor's problem but I couldn't see a lot of the falling blocks before they fell. This led to me playing really carefully, taking a step forward then immediately stepping back. Not sure if that was intentional or not. The concept is good and you executed on it will, great job!

Developer

Yea, that's probably my bad; I made the game for a fixed 1920x1080 'cause I didn't think about it. If you're playing the web version it should take it to full screen automatically to try and fit that size. But obv if your resolution is lower then that it won't work well. Sorry! and it's something I'll sort for future games

Submitted(+1)

Ah ok np, I understand exactly how you feel lol. Well that was my only critique and it turns out that wasn't even an issue, was just my Chromebook's bad lol. Nice work

An actually incredible game for the short time, the art is amazing, music amazing, with some expansion, more mechanics etc, could definitely see this becoming a short indie platformer available on steam, the cutscene at the start as well was a cute touch

Submitted(+1)

Incredible game, definitely one of the best ones i've seen, the art and the music go really well together and i liked the short story bit, adds onto the atompshere and feel of the game, only flaw is that levels scale up a bit too fast with difficulty, i've personally struggled with level 2 and 3, but the concept in my opinion is really unique and this has a lot of potential, would love playing more of this with a more casual difficulty scale.

Very nice level design and a very solid Game.  Also well implemented dead mechanic. The art is superb and saund design is also really good. The only small thing, that I woudn´t consider a bug, is that sometimes the jump animation will get stucked when at the tip of a plataform but is very dificult for that to happen.

Very fun! Good Job!    O(≧▽≦)O

Great entry. I love the aesthetics of the game.

I regret that you don't implement AZERTY controls.

Just in case, if you bind Q=A and W=Z, you got no problems with any configuration ;).

Developer

Thank you! I am going to be honest I have never heard of AZERTY controls! But I am sure that is something that can easily be added in and would make all players happy.

Developer(+1)

Hey just wanted to let you know AZERTY controls have been added and should be fully functional!

Great ^^.

Hey, really nice use of colors. The tutorial and menus fit great with the game. Cool with the story, may have been cool to have more segments between levels… Nice animations.

A couple of random notes:

  • Getting the jumps the exact right height was very hard in the level where you climb upwards with spikes on both sides. Maybe if you’d made the jump slightly higher compared to the player hitbox it would have been less of a physical challenge.

  • Also, on that note, I felt the game fluctuated a bit between having physically hard platforming challenges and puzzles.

  • I liked the star system, it kind of lets you choose whether to obsess over getting the platform challenges right, or just getting on with the story. I even think you could have removed the lives altogether, stars and getting through the levels is enough challenge.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! We did find how we designed the game to bring up some of the issues you mentioned such as the jumping. We wanted to add some element of platforming/parkour but definitely could have implemented that better.

Great game! The art style and the movement are extremely smooth

Developer

Thank you that means a lot!
