This was really great! The gameplay concept is very unique and clever, and the theme and limitations were implemented perfectly. I really loved the variety of obstacles/objects the player comes across to use as well. I'm not usually a huge fan of puzzle games, but I stuck it out to the end here because it was so dang enjoyable. My only wish is that it had some sort of music! Otherwise outstanding work!
Great visuals and beautiful crispy audio! It was quite mind-bending in a good way. As others have said, having a bit snappier input would make it more enjoyable to go through the harder stages.
Simple but addicting! As mentioned in other comments, would be great to reduce a cooldown after move!
Really fun gameplay (although I could only get to stage 11)! I think the visual style really helps keep the focus on the gameplay!
Nice visuals, interesting mechanics and nice sound effects. If it had a lot more levels, it would be a great boredom killer. Kind of wish there wasn't a cooldown for moving, however I can see why you would have implemented it. Overall a great game for this game jam.
Really fun game to play, well polished, I like everything into your game except one thing which is when the ball hit the wall it took a little while when I can move again ,I wish you reduce that duration if you are going to continue working on the game.
Congrats! Good Work.
Good idea and realization! My brain is broken - and I'm happy :D
But, I would really like to be able to change the speed of the sphere.
The puzzle is interesting and I liked that it has so many levels. If you press multiple arrow keys at the same time, the ball will spend many moves. They can even become negative.
This game is sick. I hope you expand on it and keep working on it in the future as its pretty cool and unique.
This is an interesting idea for a puzzle, using your shadows to illuminate the surrounding. The graphics were simplistic, and the audio was minor. I applaud your multiple levels that you crafted well (I got to 19 before getting stumped). I understand why it takes so long to move again, so the fading light can illuminate the surroundings, but playing each level over and over again it feels like extra noise. Have a regular speed, and if a player wants to take it nice and slow, they will play nice and slow, but you don't have to slow down the game for everyone else. Really well done, good job!
A clever idea for a puzzle game. Excellent "game juice": the screen shake, the lighting, the particle effects.
Music would have been a really nice addition. Something ethereal, either New Age or futuristic would do.
Thank you for the feedback!
As for the delay before moving the crystal, the explanation behind that is for the player to see the area (as it flicks light ) and give the player information on the layout of the area.
But I am thinking of adding an option to speed up the delay or making the crystal move right away at the cost of the light going out entirely when moving (though i might be updating the game after the jam).
Good game! Such a game would be good for phones like Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle. I would like the ball to be faster and there is also a bug in the game if you press quickly it will spend 2 moves. And I didn't fully understand how the restriction was involved. Thank you for such a cool game))))))))))))
I think that embodying a crystal gem is a good representation of how sometimes you can be your own worst enemy. It is a fragile material that can easily be destroyed. The fact that we intentionally spit ourselves against the walls to achieve our goal is well found ! :D
Great design, comprehensive, easy to handle!
Good work !
Needing to remember where the light went and make inferences about the shape of the maze is very original. Smashing yourself into walls with every move fits the limitation very well. The sound and art are excellent as well.
I'm don't think everyone will feel this way, but while playing I wanted to halt the light early by pressing in a direction-- waiting for the light to flash every time made redoing the level less streamlined than it could be. I could see the argument for making sure the player gets time to fully absorb the information they're seeing about the maze shape, though. Everything else about the game felt perfectly tuned, this game is an extremely strong entry.
