Thanks for playing! It was super interesting to see you play, and I am sorry you had issues with the controller (can I ask, was it an Xbox or PlayStation controller? As I thought I had fixed the issues with Xbox controllers). I agree that the game is in a super buggy state, and there needs to be a lot of work done (I only just realised that I never explained that the top blocks were frozen), but it's cool to see you had a little fun playing with it! I am currently working on an update which fixes a lot of the issues you had. I am sorry I did not notice you streaming it, enjoy the Twitch sub!
Thank you so much for the feedback! It's a shame I missed the stream. I would love to see the VOD once it is posted. I agree with your feedback and am already working on an updated version, which fixes a lot of those issues. The block falling issue is odd, as I thought I fixed accidental blocks falling, but I will definitely take another look, and I agree I need to make my UI a bit more helpful! Thanks again for playing!
A really cool concept! I only got to stage 9 as once all the mechanics started to stack on eathover it got a bit overwhelming. The wall jump manoeuvre is a bit too hard to pull off with a keyboard, meaning I had to switch to a controller halfway through, and even then, it was difficult. I feel the experience would have been better if you stuck to the really cool sand building mechanic. I also may have found a bug where the wave does not come out again on stage 9. But, even with those issues, it is really fun, and I would definitely play an expanded version.
The game was really fun from what I played. Unfortunately, I got stuck at "explosion" and had to use a level skip, but the puzzles I played were really well laid out (I have not finished the game ye,t but I am hoping to return to it at some point). The way the physics reacted to the environment really reminded me of Donkey Kong: Bananza in that there is a lot of open-endedness in how the player can solve certain puzzles. However, I did find that occasionally there were a few instances where it was hard to tell what the physics were going to do, making some deaths feel unfair.
But, overall, from what I have experienced so far, it is a really polished package with some really good sound and art design (the art really reminds me of early 2000 pack-in Windows games). Keep it up!
I could understand the basics of placing the bets, and then if the dice rolled on the correct number, I would get it back (my strategy was to put 10 or 25 on each spot). Where it got more difficult was the extra depth on top of that, like the pass-line and come, etc. However, this may be because I was a bit lazy and did not do all the tutorials, but just relied on the help button.
I set out to play this for 5 mins and sat there for 20+ mins playing it... Well, I guess that sums up my feedback! In all seriousness, this game nails the Balatro style, even though I did not really know what I was doing, it was still a blast to play. I did find a couple of issues, like how your web build resolution is so big that the itch.io elements like the game jam submission side banners get in the way (maybe enable the toggle to open the game on a new screen, or start with the screen size smaller but give the option to go full screen?) The main menu button in the pause menu seems to have its bounding box sized incorrectly, but other than that it was really fun!
A Really fun game! The relaxing aesthetic works really well, and even though I was not even able to beat the first level (I am not great at solitaire), I still had a great time. The music and the art style work really well together, and it helps to create a really unique experience. However, I could not figure out if you could access the shop at any time or if you could only access it after finishing a level. Keep it up!
Incredibly fun game! Had to pull myself away as I was getting sucked in! The game is taught really quickly, which is really rare for this sort of genre, great job! The gameplay also has a good level of tension, which really makes you think about your actions, as the consequences are only seconds away (unlike Civilisation, where you could be waiting an hour)
The music works well. However, I felt that the art styles were a bit too contrasting and distracted from the overall experience; maybe just sticking with one would help. Either way, the game is still super fun! I am looking forward to playing a couple more rounds!
Thanks for the feedback! The physics are certainly a challenge to deal with (a small bit of that is intentional, but I can see where it becomes borderline frustrating). I am coming up with ways to try and make the start of the game a bit simpler. I agree that the selection needs a bit more feedback for the player.
It is interesting to hear about the top blocks being safer. I did not come across that in testing, so thanks for pointing that out! It is odd that you did not hear any music, as there are multiple jazz tracks in the game, but I know there is a bug where sometimes it does not start.
Thanks for playing!
A really unique game! I enjoyed the twist of no combat and having to figure out the secrets to escape, which adds a layer of depth to the world. My only real issue was the slightly confusing UI and the post-processung being a bit too intense, as it sort of overwhelms you with information about your goal and inventory. I could not complete the game as I was confused about how far towards my goal I was. Maybe if you had a bit more of a tutorial, it might have helped, along with having more prompts when you were making progress in the game. But it was still enjoyable and the music was nice, keep it up!
Thank you for playing! You can finish the last one by first collecting the bottle, which allows you to collect the key and then go back to the top of the maze where you have to collect the second bottle to get rid of the barrier to collect the flag. Once you do that you can go through the gap by the first bottle to the exit.
I think the concept is really cool and has merit! The basic idea of the snake gameplay loop and gathering letters is engaging. However, I feel it could be improved by adding some difficulty (having the player have to collect the letters in the right order or making the player spell a word out that is reversed). However, it is still an enjoyable time!
This game is really imaginative and captures a choose-your-own-adventure-style game in a way I have not seen before. I found myself actually thinking about what responses I would do in these situations and imagining all the scenery surrounding me. For 72 hours this is incredibly impressive. I feel that some slight ambient noise like radio static might help improve the experience. Also, for some reason the link at the end of the game would not load.
A really well-thought-out experience, that taught me about social infrastructure! While there is not much gameplay in a sense, it still keeps it engaging enough to keep you playing. Maybe it could be improved if the knowledge learnt was then used for some sort of quiz? (like assigning people's needs to a certain infrastructure project). I also found a bug where you could repeatedly get hearts by interacting with buildings you had already read about. But, overall it is a really cool project!
