Really neat game, love the grow/shrink mechanic. Also great music and sounds to complement the Kenney graphic assets you used.

Super fun games, maybe the controls are a little bit off but the game idea is very interesting and well executed

I usually don't like platformers, but this one I enjoyed. Good concept with growing and shrinking, that is a good idea.

Thoroughly enjoyable little puzzle platformer. I love the idea of separate paths!

This is actually awesome game, during first playthrough noticed that there are few way outs in certain level and after completion seen a graph graph of possible paths, this bit with different paths reminded me detroit lol. Great job!

Great concept well implemented, only comment I'd say is gravity is a little low, also i didn't know there was different pathways until the end lol, nice work!

This was a lot of fun.

Impressive amount of content for the jam considering the branching paths, and still nicely paced.

Really cool implementation of the mechanics and love the switching between sizes mid jump.

Also really like how growing bigger gives you a wider view of the level.

Very good. Can't believe this was your first ever game jam! The gameplay is simple but the basic mechanic and possibility of choosing different branching paths through the levels makes it feel bigger than it is and adds a lot of replay value. The music is excellent, and I love the way you used the minimal 1-bit assets to create a real sense of place. Nice chilled out, casual vibe. Really well done!

My one criticism might be that the controls felt a little floaty, especially the gravity-defying jumps. But that is a personal preference.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it, thanks! The floaty jumps are definitely something to improve, I think you're not alone in thinking that lol. I appreciate the feedback!

A lot of levels for such a short jam - impressive!  I had fun with this one and enjoyed the growing and shrinking mechanic.  I think there's a lot of potential for things you could do with it.

There was really only one gimmick you were working with here besides growing/shrinking for jump height and fitting through passages, and that was the buttons to open/close pathways.  I'd recommend introducing more puzzle elements so you have more things to design with.  Timed buttons, blocks you can break by growing, blocks you can push around by growing, etc.  There's a lot you could add!

Thanks! Totally agree with you about the extra mechanics, and honestly I like all three of your suggestions! Being able to interact with blocks in different sizes is something I think would be cool to add, and make the game more interesting rather than the standard grow/shrink idea. Thank you for the feedback!

Best one so far for me. Super impressive, especially for a first game jam! Your use of the assets is super good, and the game feels very satisfying to play. It just goes to show that sometimes even simple and few mechanics can make a fun game :)

Incredibly polished game. 5 stars, I thoroughly enjoyed this game and the level of work put in with all of the levels is unbelievable. Loved the unique mechanic allowing you to grow and shrink.

If this were published as a full game with a bit of narrative I would buy it on the spot. It's a unique concept and I think it would be a great platformer.

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I haven't considered narrative, but I think you're on to something; it would be cool to craft a story around this game and its mechanics. That's an idea I might bring to other projects, or this one if I decide to expand on it. Thanks for that feedback, really interesting point!

Nice concept and level design. Like the different branches between levels. The gameplay could be a bit more reactive, but the relaxing music fits well with the actual one.

Brilliant exploration game with a really unique mechanic and relaxing music! It was pretty fun trying to find the different alternative levels. And I feel with a bit more expansion upon the mechanic and some more challenging levels this could become something quite unique.

Fun to play this new twisted mechanics! Also cool fun level design!

The idea of scaling up and down is super cool and very well implemented! The choice of various paths fits the theme so well and the level design is phenomenal despite the time constraint! Awesome game, especially being your first jam, keep up the great work!!
