Amazing level of polish for a 1 week jam game! Very fun to play, the stamping mechanic is super satisfying
The theme is very well implemented and also bonus points for hilarious jokes
Great job!
Really fun and good! Thumbs up :)
I was super charmed by this game! I was hoping to see someone do a Papers, Please take on the theme with all the contract/legal discussion going on and this so much did not disappoint -- the art was charming, humour was fantastic, and it all was super polished.
Some tiny things I did notice/wish for:
Generally, a super fun and well-polished game with a lot of heart and a lot of funnies packed into it. Well done, I had a great time playing!
the messages you get in the reviews are based on the stars. So there's a bug where if someone was going to give a bad review they get boosted by your plants into instead talking about decor even if you have all decor
Ohhh gotcha, that makes total sense then. Had a good chuckle reading the reviews at the end of each day, that’s a super creative and fitting touch. Loved it!
a cool variation on papers, please. there's something so weirdly satisfying about stamping a document in a game
there were a lot of situations where I missed a void and had no idea what went wrong. I'm worried there was one specific thing on the documents I was supposed to look at and just never realized what it was
the character art and portraits looked nice, and the music was good as well. i like the sense of humor too. nice work! congrats on the submission!
Well, let's play at paper please ! but with demons :)
I found the ambiance super cool, and I loved the musics, very peaceful when you are deciding the fate of other species :)
I will say that in the gameplay, there must be something more than aleatory, because I can just void every one and still win :(
Nice game idea, very original !
Be sure to checkout my game for some action !
Oh didnt think that strategy still worked, guess you got extremely lucky with your ratings
Usually if you void contracts that shouldnt be voided the demons will tank your ratings, guess there might be a case I missed where they still dont (unless youre talking about the early days, in the first couple you can pretty much do anything as the player is learning but in wednesday thursday and friday its actual balancing)
Yes, only for early days, but they gave me shit grades, but humans freed from contract gave me 5 stars
Really a unique take on the theme. Well done, funny, interesting, unexpected. The music, art and play style were very cohesive and had a lot of charm.
Loved this game! The handdrawn art was really charming, and oddly, the light jazz music fits even though we're dealing with demons (we're in a lawyer's office after all). But what I liked most was the humor!! The clauses in the contracts are hilarious!
Signing a contract with a demon for high ratings in GWJ? Coming right up!
Wow this is a really great adaptation of Paper's Please. Great job. Loved the demonic spin on it. Hilarious!
Cool game, at first was not getting it, but once I understood the rules I had a lot of fun.
The art is very good, both in-game and UI have the same aesthetics, and this is something I really like.
Congrats guys!
Both as an Eastern European (who has breaucracy in his blood) and a fan of Papers please, I ask you to please make this into a full feature game. You people are witty, the art was cute. I had fun with this.
Great presentation, I discovered only in day 4 that you could turn the page of the book further, also im not sure when should I void contracts, I voided them when something was wrong but it wasnt clear. Although the ratings are funny I wish I could skip them/make them quicker. Overall it feels finished and fun.
I LOVE these types of games because it gets too funny and too fun in the same time, the ratings added a nice touch to the game and the cozy feeling with the env and the audio really showed the quality of how well the game has been made, thankyou for this amazing experience and i cant wait to see more games from yall!
very cozy papers please like. sometimes id get things wrong and not know why, it could be nice if the note you get included why the judgement was wrong, but otherwise i have no notes
Very creative and fun game, I love the premise!
Really cool! Great looking and solid music as well.
It would be nice if you could skip/speed up the transition screens; the ratio of wait time between days vs. time spent voiding contracts seemed a bit high.
I really liked the idea of making the contracts between humans and demons, it worked really well for this game.
Not only the premisse is interesting but the implmentation of the idea is very well made. Congrats to all in the team!
Super cute art and premise! I love the variety of demon designs. Music is catchy, and the paper sounds are satisfying.
I wish you could see what you did wrong/get a second look at a contract once it's marked as incorrectly voided or not voided - some of them I felt genuinely clueless as to what I missed!
I think I encountered a crash after retrying Friday - just a black screen with no options to proceed.
This was a fun one!
First of all - I love the interpretation of the theme. It's very original to use a legal term such as 'void contract' for this!
It's clearly inspired by Paper's Please, but it has it's own fun personality. The writing is witty, and the sprinkles of humor in the game are hilarious.
The game has a great learning curve to it - my first run was a complete blunder - I failed EVERY SINGLE CONTRACT, while trying to figure out how to play the game. And my second one I perfected the game - it's AWESOME that the game actually requires paying attention and learning to be able to complete it.
The UI is fun to use and generally responsive, except for some minor nitpicks, like the book being hard to move around. Also, there is the page in the book with the label 'void' in it - it threw me off. I thought all the demons that were in that page MUST be voided, but it ended up being just an aesthetic choice.
The artstyle - character portraits are great, and I love the little animations in the UI, like the mouse cursor for example.
I love the music - it's really fun, the main menu theme is very groovy.
The game unfortunately froze for me on Friday - there was a black screen, music was playing, and nothing happened afterwards.
