This is incredibly polished and super fun to play, amazing job!
One of the most fun games of the jam IMO... I loved how the enemies spawned from below and rose up.
Another little detail that was phenomenal was how the resources ended up orbiting the level 5 boss. Such a little detail that ended up really feeling great. Anywhere where polish was missing, I wasn't bothered because the fun was there in spades.
The music was so chill and pleasant which kind of matched the mood? It was always high stakes, but it also felt very chill and casual too. Like you just play it forever and ever. So it worked, despite my initial feelings of mismatch.
I'm so glad I snuck this in before voting ended, you did a great job.
Thank you so much for such a detailed and well-versed review!
This was fun! Had a cool loop, and I liked the combination of the random upgrade choices and deciding where to play the upgrades.
The first time I played I lost immediately because I didn't choose a weapon option. It also felt a bit unfair how enemies would spawn right next to your ship.
The variety in enemies was really nice, and they also looked really cool. It's nice to see a good amount of enemy types in a short jam game.
That's a fun space idle game! I feel like this gameplay loop of building your own ship really opens up many possibilities for the player. Only complaint is that it wasn't too clear when I'd level up next, and I also took some time to realize that just opening the shop automatically forces me to buy something. But overall, it was really cool to progress and feel the difficulty ramping up as bigger enemies and mini bosses came in, and the presentation is great. Nice job!
Thank you for your input! I agree with your comment, all these limitations actually came as a result of us running out of time and we're fixing them now
Great use of particles, good variety of buildings and the enemy design is quite interesting. The font also tricked me up at the beggining but I understood it after a little.
An amazing mixture of tower defense and vampire survival with a unique atmosphere :)
It would be cool to add cards to expand the space of the ship and strengthen the towers depending on where they are located and who they are adjacent to.
Nothing but great things to say about this game. I liked all of the modules. The art was top notch and loved the atmosphere. Wasnt sure what the energy was for but it was fun! I will be coming back to play this for sure!
The graphics are really top notch, well done. The whole game feels very good, I had a lot of fun. I was only wondering, why my platform drifted to the left, as I seem not to be able to control it. Is this based on the directions of the incoming waves?
Wow, 5/5, just, color shifting and the use of glow is super well done ! Music cool. Original game, ! and, the HP bar doesn't really show the hp ??? It would be great to have on that show for the main platform, and why not when some little ones are damaged, an hp bar just on top or bottom of them that show then hide back to see current hp (but it may break immersion ?) ?
It's super satisfying to see your current ship growing.
The only missing things for me are :
- speed scale, so we go to 1.25 or 1.5 to faster a bit the game
- when enemies get hit and not destroy, still a hit sound from bullet, and why not one from the alien ?
I don't really understand why sometimes the shop is available, and why not some other times, it would be great to make it clearer, and if the shop is available, making something blink so we know !
Thanks for this super game !
Thank you for such a detailed review, we'll take everything you said into consideration if we continue working on this
- on HP bars I agree that there should definitely be some kind of representation of the remaining HP, especially when it's low
- regarding the speed scale, I also agree that it feels too idle between the opportunities to add modules, something has to be done about that
- SFX in general are obviously lacking at the moment, luckily this isn't hard to fix
- as for the shop, at the moment it costs 5 crystals up front to open the shop menu, and then the modules themselves are free. This was a cheap way for us to save some development time. So the shop isn't available when you're below 5 crystals.
- the bar at the top left is actually an XP bar, not the best font choice on our part :D
Oh xD, I thought it was HP :)
But I understood it was gained when clearing enemies !
That's great, I hope to hear news from your game !
Idle Deckbuilder is a cool idea. I can really see this getting bigger with more deckbuilding capabilities or different stations. Nice entry
such a great concept and implemented really well here. it was really satisfying to build up a big platform and start destroying a bunch of enemies. the guns that did not target enemies seemed much less useful than the other ones. it didn't seem like there was much danger of losing, until the end when enemies started spawning inside my platform and collapsed the whole thing. overall a great entry, I think you should continue working on this one. nice work!
Thank you so much for your review! Our plan for the stationary guns was to have other modules that would modify and redirect projectiles, but we ran out of time before we added those
As for enemies spawning inside the platform, this was not supposed to happen, I think we have a bug somewhere :D
Thank you for playing and I'm still trying to improve my best temp in your game
Nice! Didn't realize off-the-bat the main character wasn't supposed to be movable, and then finally figured out it was a tower defense game. Once it got going, I found it fun to build on your platform, and the progression system was very satisfying. Made it to level 6 before the enemies overwhelmed me. I enjoyed this submission; an impressive debut entry!
My 6yo son played and got the hang of it quickly, he says he needed a "better bullet" as the baddies destroyed us after level 3 or so
I thought it was a pretty chill tower defence at first, but it ramps up fairly quickly. I wasn't sure if I understood the energy and it's relation to HP etc.
Yeah we ran out of time so we ended up with just a couple of modules that actually make use of energy
Actually come to think of it, the one called "Power Shot" fits the description of "better bullet" as it adds flat damage to the projectiles of all modules adjacent to it, for 1 energy per projectile. Combining it with Laser Turret provides the best result as it has piercing and its own damage is pretty low.
Thank you so much for playing!
really fun idle game!
I would love to see more modules and more feedback to feel my choices of modules too
I like it, it's a lot of fun.
awesome game! at level 5 it became really hard to manage as what ever you built got shot down super quickly
Thank you for your comment! I wish we had time to add more module types and balance everything around
It is beatable as it is now but you have to get lucky with the cards and make sure to use the "shop" (spacebar) to spend all the crystals
Love the models and building mechanics! Music was a little on the loud end for me but nothing I couldn't deal with. Sound effects were superb. Great job!
