Fun unique game concept. I was stunned when the first crow attacked me, it was so fast that I don't know how to react lol. Hope there was an audio, it would have made the game more awesome but nonetheless great work though.

A nice idea for a game, you should really improve it after the jam!

Those pesky birds would rather rob me than eat me. I suppose that's a fair trade haha. Fun little game!

I liked the premise of this game and the tiny story on getting the name tag after all of the upgrades. Yea, the birds were a little wonky, but AI is tough to tweak in a gamejam. The snail sprite was great and in general it was fun little experience.  Nice entry :)

Such an interesting idea! I liked how you'd revisit the shop to upgrade and then you'd see that next upgrade available, just teasing you - but gosh dang those birds got hard to avoid! I loved the animations, especially of the little snail friend. Definitely had lots of fun! I quite liked the 'feature' of the birds all stacking on top of one another and then flying past overhead at the speed of sound. Can't a snail just live in peace?

Nice idea, a mechanic to shoo away the birds would be awesome. Maybe you coould shoo them away only at night side or something with that sweet day/night cycle.

it was an interesting little game that might have potential as an idea if you choose to develop it further. Sound would also be nice. I did like the way the menu was integrated into the gameplay, and it felt fluid overall. Just fix the bird AI :)

Funny idea, getting robbed by birds :D ! Made me smile. I wasn't quite sure how to progress (other than by trying to avoid the annoying birds!) but I found it really fun to wander around the world for a bit. I also really liked the grassy world :) He moves quickly for a snail! Great job, thanks for sharing!

The title made me chuckle too btw!

I like the day/night effect, even though it made both me and my copilot a bit  🥴 after a while.

I like the theme and the concept! With this aspect ratio, you would almost expect it to be a mobile game. It's a shame you didn't port it to android!

Developer(+1)

That was kinda the goal when I started it. I was intending to try and get an android port out, but it would've been super rushed and probably twice as buggy as the normal version hahaha.

haha yeah that's fair!

I did not understand very well the goal to be honest, but i found it quite interesting

Nice work!

Very original and a lot of fun, played for quite some time. ..Try to keep holding on to one side like I did...pretty soon your world starts revolving too...fun!

Hi! As promised here’s my feedback. I tested the windows version.

Good stuff:

  • the Tiny World theme is very well respected! the wild cards also implemented
  • Very good and original UI/UX for the menus with the keys inside the earth!!
  • the “universe” is coherent: birds eating snails, snails eating coins… wait what?
  • nice visuals, simple but they work and they look nice.

To go further with that game I was imagining more planets. You reach them with plants that grow between the planets. You have to jump on platforms in the sky, dealing with more and more birds.

Maybe an upgrade where you can buy is a spaceship, and a gun to shoot the birbs, or something less violent like food to distract them.

I really like the concept and it could be expanded to be a great game!

Other improvements:

  • no audio at all? It would really improve the experience. A sound when a bird “dashes”, when you get hit, when you pick up a coin…
  • Needs a simple music loop. But at the same time, that needs a mute button.

I’m a musician and composer so if you want help hit me up! I’ve added you on Discord.

Bugs (or features?):

  • I think sometimes the birds teleport instead of rushing fast?
  • It does not resize well but it looks super cool actually, it gives some depth like the sun/moon feel far away!

I suppose this is a solo composition so good job on all of that :)

F**king birds!

Overall, I liked it.

The snail is a funny character,  I love how seamless it is and your take on the name wild card is very clever.  The bats were annoying but I'm sure that's the point xD

Submitted

Love the absurdity of the concept! The day/night cycle on the planet also made it really fun to go around the world.

Honestly, the most annoying thing was how the crows could take all your coins. So punishing!

Besides what has already been said by yourself and others, the only thing I wanna say is: I don't know if it was just this was made quickly for a jam or a deliberate choice, but I really enjoy the flippant style, and the meta text (telling me to just close the browser tab lol).

I'm glad you appreciated it lol! If you can't be good at something, at least be funny hahaha

Really clever idea, and great way to work in the wildcards! Based on the description on the game page and the comments below, it sounds like you are already well aware of its flaws, but not bad for a game jam game. Congrats on completing it - finishing any game in 9 days is a miracle. :-)

Thanks my guy.

It's a pretty cool concept, but it needs some more polishing. The controls are a bit stale and the birds are a bit clunky. It took me quite a while to realize that the birds actually hurt you lol.

Developer(+2)

Yeah haha. I tried too hard to get two of the wildcards in it and the whole game kinda suffered as a result. The bats were just... bad lmao. I spent way too long troubleshooting their movement before figuring I should move onto more important aspects of my game. And indeed, I should've had some sort of feedback to indicate damage taken. Or a more clear UI.

Anyways, thanks for the honest feedback!
