That's a very original and creative take on the theme, even if a bit stretching it, the only musical game I've seen among many other entries. I quite enjoyed my time with it, really sparked my "wanna-be musician" side, haha. I love that you can actually represent same beats with different dice, just like with real time signatures, and the game accepts it as being right. The graphics are a bit of a downside, but it doesn't take away from the fantastic experience.

Thanks for the honest feedback! Glad you were able to have fun with the game. Embrace the "wanna-be a musician" side ;)

Really cool music game, I love how you can easily create nice beats with triplets and quintuplets! Really cool Idea and very fun, good job!

Unique take on the theme, I love it! Nice presentation, and the tutorial phases and dificulty curve are really well settled! Good job!

Glad you enjoyed it; thanks so much for the feedback :)

Bro. Imagine how happy I was playing this game, as a drummer and as a fellow Godot dev. This is beautiful dude, you nailed it completely, this is ultra creative, super fun, I would sugest caring a little more for presentation if you plan to further update this game, like, text based tutorials are dead, the thing now is slowly presenting mechanics via gameplay. But the rest is perfect to me, solid 5 star fun and creative.

I'm a fellow drummer as well ;). Thanks so much for your feedback, I think you nailed it with text-based tutorials being dead. I was just able to watch someone who has no musical or gaming background play and it was immediately apparent that she had no interest in reading the instructions nor using (because she didn't have) conventional counting strategies to figure things out like eighth note rest into eighth note hit even though being able to clearly notice something was wrong. A tutorial with demonstrations for everything seems 100% required after that. I do want to keep text for story elements I'm hashing out, but yeah instructions are dead haha

Pretty similar to how we wrote music for our game :D The game is awesome - great job!

Really cool game! There's so much complexity that's presented in a simple and intuitive way. This is a really interesting concept and I had a lot of fun playing! Great job!

Thanks for the feedback; I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Man, I was not expecting someone to make a full-blown music game for this jam! What a cool interpretation of the theme, it was so much fun coming up with patterns on this dice-themed DAW

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it :). And honestly I wasn't sure if I would be able to pull it off, I definitely skimped out on some sleep this jam :X

Submitted(+1)

LOL it happens, at least you made something really cool out of it!

nice way to include randomness in a "fruity loops" game. Good job!

Super fun game, and really creative! I never thought my quintuplet practice over the years would come in handy in a game jam game :)

I wasn’t sure if there was a faster way to enter in dice, like if I needed multiple 3s in a row or to remove a lot of pips there was a lot of repetitive clicking. It would be cool if you can click and drag over multiple pips to toggle them all at once or something like that. That’s really my only nitpick, great job!

Also, Godot gang 💪💪💪💪

Grinding out the u-ni-ver-si-ty pays off eventually ;)

I also found myself wanting a copy/paste mechanic especially in the quintuplet hat level. Certainly something I'll add to a post-jam version, but I didn't want to push my sketchy UI code too far haha.

This is a very creative take on the theme! The freestyle mode was a lot of fun to play with, good job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it and also glad you had fun playing around in freestyle!

This is really cool! Haven't played anything like this before. I'm terrible at music so I had trouble deciphering the individual sounds, but I still had a ton of fun playing it! Really different take on the theme. Well done and congrats on submitting!

Developer

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Hopefully even with being terrible at music you were able to make some progress :) I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you think could be improved to make the game more accessible if you'd like to share!

This game is awesome. Original approach to the theme.

This is so cool!!! I love trying to match the beat and the beats are so satisfying. Well done!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the feedback :)

Using the dice faces as beat subdivisions is a super interesting take on the theme. Trying to pick out if a beat was just two eighths or two offbeat 16ths was fun. I really appreciated that you could separate out the tracks from each other, as it made it much easier to be able to focus on one track at a time. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)

Absolutely loved this concept, very different from the ones we rated so far, good work! Would love to see more of this game being made

I can see this becoming a very involved puzzle game where a user is really forced to listen to the complexity of a track, especially if it involves beats that purposefully try to throw them off of their sense of rhythm. Kudos!

Thanks so much for your feedback :)

neat game!

Probably my favourite in the jam I've played so far. Love this and could see it being an actually useful educational tool for classrooms. The sounds were a bit obtuse/abrasive and started to hurt after a while, but basically, everything else felt smooth and well-made!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback and I can't emphasize how nice it is to read comments like this! Sorry about the sounds, I agree that they're not ideal, but they were very easy to synthesize in sfxr haha. I've also noticed they're considerably worse on speakers and headphones that aren't my main pair, so that's my bad for not checking on more hardware. A post-jam build will have nicer (and probably more unique) sounds :)

I love this kind of games and your entry used the theme in a very creative way. I only had trouble distinguishing the 3 quintuplets vs 3 triplets. The freestyle mode is a nice addition too!

Very cool take on the theme that I haven't seen! I don't really know much about making music, but replicating the tracks was pretty fun!

Developer

Glad you were able to enjoy even without a music background :). Thanks for the feedback!
