Very unique idea and super fun! It would be neat for a future release to have copy and paste controls or maybe a scroll input to change dice numbers. A simple select tool with arrow keys to change everything selected would be amazing.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the excellent suggestions! I agree with these feature suggestions and I found myself wanting them myself when I was testing haha

A rhythm game with dice?! Love the creativity, and it's very fun to play. Great work :)

found an awesome quintuplet beat

Ayyy that's a jammer haha thanks for sharing. The kick rhythm is particularly juicy

Developer

Thanks so much! Stay tuned for a post-jam version ;)

thanks for the game

This actually have helped someone like me who is tone deaf.

Really creative and fun !

Developer(+1)

Glad to read this! I didn't even think about how it would've been harder for some people if I had made it based on tones. Thanks for the feedback :)

This is really fun and creative, great job! :D

also i noticed that the dice in the logo changes to the beat of the music and i love it

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it and that you noticed that :)

Wow, this is a extremely creative use of the dice! I am able to complete a couple of levels, by painstakingly matching each track individually... I am thoroughly impressed by the game mechanic, and also the technical aspects of coding a game like this!! The interface is intuitive, and transitioning between windows is buttery smooth without losing a beat! Well done on making a fantastic game! :D

Developer(+1)

Wow, thanks so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the game and I'm glad the effort put into it was noticed. I hope the time spent in it was fun!

Very creative game, I have no musical experience so I found it quite difficult and I gave up. However, I can totally see the potential for the more musically inclined and patient. A play/pause feature would be a nice addition, so that I can listen to just the first or last few beats for example. Overall really well done!

As a music lover, i really enjoy this game :D

i can win all the levels as well B)

Perfect game ! well done !

This game is insanely addictive and enjoyable for someone who has a background in music!

It feels like I'm at school, learning to perform something, then when you did it, it felt good!

At first I thought it was too easy but then the challenge came! It requires a very different skillset which makes me want to keep improving on my rhythmic memory.

The use of dice is clever, that you didn't go for the "random" element.

Gameplay is fluent, intuitive, and the options to turn off instruments helped A LOT. I haven't played through the game yet, I wonder if that option would be disabled in later levels? That would provide REAL challenge.

This can DEFINITELY turn into an educational game, it trains peoples' sense of rhythm.

Developer

Thanks so much for this feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Part of my motivation for this was as an educational-style game actually, so I'm glad that went noticed!

Regarding disabling/isolating tracks, that option is on throughout the game. I do see what you're saying in regards  to it adding an additional challenge, but I also wanted the game to be decently approachable by people without a strong music background, so having things like isolated tracks and a metronome should help more people finish it. Also since it's a jam game I tried not to make it particularly hard haha

Really good! As a complete ignorant who tried to learn a few things some times ago, your game was great. I regret one thing, it's that I couldn't see the solution of a level I was stuck on (it becomes quite hard for me to hear the subtle differences between one pip or the other being activated or not.)

That's a very creative way to work the theme in your game!

Very cool concept! I really enjoyed playing around in the freestyle mode. I lost track of time while feeling like a DJ :D

Here's a little beat I made with it!

Developer

Amazing! I'm glad you enjoyed the freestyle mode :) If I had more time (and this is something I'll add to a post-jam version), I'd add the ability to export songs to WAV/OGG/MIDI.

Thanks for the feedback!

YES YES YES!

This is great! I loved playing through the levels, and you made sure to remove any inconveniences by allowing us to mute parts of the track. The beat making was also pretty elaborate, especially for me as I have no experience in this. After a while the constant beat got a bit annoying, but there isn't much there that can be done :p

Great work!

Check out the project I created visuals and sounds for: (please rate it :3 )

The Concept of this Game was Mind Blowing  and at the same time it so addictive .

Really cool concept love games that involve using music

Submitted(+1)

What a fun and creative concept! Have never seen anything like this before, good entry!

I wonder what else you could do with this? More instruments? Specific rhythms? (Swing for example) I feel like this game's potential is limitless, please continue developing!

Developer

Thanks so much!

I have a lot of ideas for future directions, but I don't want to get married to any of them too soon. All the feedback I'm getting from the players has been incredible so I'll definitely take that into account.

Submitted(+1)

Really unique concept executed really well! The sounds were a little sharp, but I know I'm sensitive to that sort of thing so it could just be me. Gets challenging pretty quick, but it's probably easier if you have an ear for music! Nonetheless, top tier work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the feedback! The samples I used were generated using SFXR so they definitely more on the abrasive side haha. I'll definitely spend more time synthesizing samples in a future release and I'll also probably include multiple different sounds for different beats.

Submitted(+1)

Optional scroll wheel input would be cool. Also, good music.

Developer

Thanks for playing! What do you mean by this? As in scroll wheel for scrolling through the tracks? I think that's a great idea

Submitted

I actually meant the dice so you don't need to klick a hundred times per song but I don't see a reason to not do what you said too.

Submitted(+2)

sick beat! I wish we could share and save music

Developer

Glad you enjoyed playing around in freestyle mode :). Future versions will definitely include an export option, sorry I wasn't able to include that in the jam version

This game is really unique and fun to play! Although I am absolutley terrible at it! The concept is really good!

Developer

I appreciate the comment. Keep playing and you'll get better eventually hehe ;)
