I really like this interpretation of the theme. There have been a few games where the world grows or shrinks based on your movement, but this is the first time I've felt that it integrated well into the gameplay. The level design is good too. I didn't realize that the robot could collect the keys for me for a long time though. As for improvements, it would have been nice to see art for the rescaling blocks. I also would have liked to have a better sense for whether a jump is possible or not (our game also has this problem). Other than that seems good.
I agree completely with your points! Thank you for playing and reviewing!!
Super interesting and creative idea on how you implemented the scaling theme. Great work!
thank you very much!
Really fun little platformer. I can definitely relate to being sick of finding music for every game jam, only I have zero musical talent to compensate.
One thing I want to bring up is the level that introduced the sliding scales. I figured out how to solve it pretty early, but the jumps required were so precise that it took way too long for me to finish. Otherwise this game was really well designed. Great work!
Thank you very much for playing and for the feedback. Yes most feedback I got from the level was about the unfair preciseness… I messed up, should’ve just put the key a little lower and people wouldnt be so mad 🥺
These sorts of things are inevitable for jam entries that involve a lot of levels, especially if you're a solo dev doing most/all of the play testing. I got around the issue by just letting players skip levels if they thought it was too hard, which is something you may want to consider for the future.
The fact your game only has one section with unfair precision is pretty remarkable.
Letting players skip levels is pretty genious, I recently reviewed a game in the jam where you kinda gathered “points” for each level and these “points” were considered to unlock other levels, the thing is, you could skip levels you didnt like if you gathered enough points on easier levels. Its genius really
Just saw your “skip level” option at your game, its really clever.
Cool idea! Very tricky puzzles at times, but fun vibe with them music and sound effects, nicely done!
thank you very much!
I went in with absolutely no idea what to expect, and came out of it with a good time. Loved that bit of personality at the beginning, it definitely set a fun tone. Was that a ukelele??
yep, my Malibu 23s. Thank you so much for kind words, it means a lot!
the intro was so charming, it felt personal :) and the puzzles felt nice, very fluid
Thank you very much, I really like that you felt a connection because of the intro :)
Cool idea and nice puzzles. Sometimes (especially on the first level with the black and white scale) the solutions needs to be a bit too pixel-perfect (i started thinking that there was something i missed for a while there before managing to get it to the exact height needed), but overall a cool puzzler with a nice mechanic.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you did it!
Cool game! the only part I had trouble is the level where there's a bunch of black to white bars, I didn't know how to complete that one. Other than that it has nice puzzles, good job!
Thank you! Yeah the sliders are a little tough
Enjoyed this! Has some really clever puzzles - I did have trouble when the slider thing (not sure what to call it, the volume bar lookin' icon that you walk over to scale platforms) when it was first introduced by I think that might've been because of a bug, haha.
Also loved the music! I've thought about busting out my ukulele to make jam music before but you really did it and I love that.
Thank you so much for playing! Yes the first level with the slider thing needs very precise positioning of the platfor, I should’ve place a sign on the correct height for it to be less annoying.
Interesting idea, i'm surprised to find you that late (i keep playing games since yesterday ahah). A very good game, i had fun discovering the levels so good job !
Thank you so much, I’m glad you found my game amongst over 7 thousand
Adore the concept, and figuring out how to do stuff was really fun!
Thank you so much!!
This game is amazing! I loved the concept and the introduction of the new mechanics. Would love to see it get bigger and deeper with more levels, but even as it is, it's a fun experience. The last couple of levels took some real thought and effort. Great puzzle-y experience.
Thank you so much for playing and all the love!!
wonderful ukulele playing! i'm amazed at how well designed some of the levels are and can only imagine what the level design process must have been like. the first robot one stumped me for a little bit, but i managed to complete the game. good work!
Thank you so much!! I’m so happy you made it to the end! (please dont forget to rate)
Very nice guitar play and puzzle design! Good job!
I was worried if I could make it to the finish and I did it!
omg you rock! Most people didn’t even get past the frst robot! Thank you so much for playing through!
Very interesting take on the theme! Nice job!
Thank you very much!
This is a 5/5 creation! so innovative and inspiring!
you’re too kind, thank you so much
I need to keep this game in mind. the puzzles so neat and clever
I was hoping you would narrate the whole game Bennett Foddy style, like in Getting Over It :D But the music was great. Very creative mechanic with huge potential. Reminds me of a game I made before a bit. Hope you'll continue. Fun game.
I actually tought about it, would’ve been fun indeed. Thank you so much!
The mechanics are easy to pick up and understand, overall had a good time trying to solve the levels! And the music was very relaxing too. :]
Thank you very much!
Nice job making this on your own ! Cool concept with great puzzle potential, reminds me a little of the world in Braid where time moves as you move. You might want to remove crouching when the jam is over, it's broken (character sinks in the background a bit) and it serves no purpose
I’m a huge fan of Braid, you can’t understand how happy this comment made me.
I really liked the concept very much as it made the game enjoyable! What it needs is a bit more art and some better UI , but all in all Well Done!
Thank you so much! I agree, needs more of its own style, what I came up with feels like a bunch of random assets.
