Good game. Nice glowing effects going on. But I think a little bit of tweaking and better controls might be needed. Other than that, well done!
Thank you!
Really cool idea for a game! The sound design could be improved and the I think the level with a ton of balls needs to be reworked. Other than that, everything is really good for the time you had.
Thank you!
Game Review Time
What I liked
The texture work and the visuals of the game are pretty good. The central concept respects the them and has an interesting take on it. I've seen direct size manipulation, but I haven't seen lasers. I think the tutorial levels were really good, teaching the concepts one by one.
What I didn't like
Immidietly after the tutorials ended I was given a chamber in which I had to roll a ton of balls underneath a barrier then double growth them. This was quite repetitive, and frustrating. I also found navigating up the way through the stage via jumping to be somewhat floaty. After getting three balls in, through trial and error, I lost a lot of motivation. A potential fix to this would be to slowly build up to a much larger level than this with simpler puzzles; for, as is, it felt like I was taught how to play the basics of guitar hero then told to play it on master difficulty with no mistakes.
Potential Improvements
The came could use some polish in the way of music, whilst the buttons and the laser interaction does make a sound I found it to be a bit loud. I would also recommend either breaking down the large chamber into chunks and boiling it down, or exploring other ideas as you have a pretty solid frame work.
Overall Thoughts
This game has a good bit of potential, with a really good tutorial section that got me excited to play more puzzles in that style. Unfortunately, being given a ton of balls to solve in the exact same way, somewhat soured my taste. Though, this is still better than some other entries I've played where the game was completely unfinished or broken.
Thank you! I will definitely have to change that last level, even for me it's really tedious. I am definitely gonna update the sound design for the updated version.
Cool take and interesting puzzle design! The reflecting amplifying the effect is rather unique compared to how most people have made games like this, and the puzzle design is more clever than a couple I have seen
I couldnt get why the ray has a cooldown before you can fire it again though, and it definitely could be more polished with unique textures, more sounds and more feedback to the player, but besides that its pretty alright for what it is!
Thank you! Actually for the ray cooldown it is because the object has to scale back down or else you can just keep spamming it. I will make it more known with sound effects and animation next time I update it!
Cool job with the mirror mechanic you did there. The puzzle level design is amazingly in shape with the mechanic. Reminds me a lot of portal. Good job on this game especially made within 48 hours! :)
Thank you!
This game looks great! I like the idea of messing with size shifting rays, buttons and a couple of props, you can come out with really clever puzzles using this setting.
I liked the first few, but I think I got stuck too soon, the “press the button” level got me trapped, I didnt know what to do nor how to reset (because I felt lke I wasnt supposed to put the ball inside the cage for some reason). Anyway, great submission, congrats!
Thank you! the trick about the part you are stuck at is that there is a reflective wall behind it and you are sopposed to reflect the ray off the wall to the ball to push the button. Thank you for playing my game!
Bro, I tried my best to play, but I was growing dizzy so I had to put it down, I'm sorry U^U
I got stuck on one of the first puzzles where I had to press a button behind a glass pane with a ball. I tried to push it under by making it small, but it kept stopping near the glass, growing big again and glitching through the floor. I'm sure you put a lot of effort here, but I am not built for this haha!
Thank you! It's fine if you put it down, that's one of the bugs I am going to have to fix for the next update
Really cool take on the theme with some interesting puzzle design.
The mechanics you use also open up a lot of potential for this kind of game so please expand this idea!
With the exception of some bugs and mechanical issues, I liked it! Keep going :D
Thank you! I'm definitely going to update this game with bug fixes and new levels
Okay, I just finished it. And I have to say, I really like the idea, and I can really see the potential here.
The fact that it also gives me mad portal vibes just makes it even better.
Improvements:
- Make the gap between ground and glass bigger so the balls fit better under it.
- Make the movement a bit less floaty.
That being said, I really think you have something on your hands here, and I am interested to see where this goes!
Good job!
Thanks for the good constructive criticism! This is really nice feedback and I will be thinking about it when making the updated version.
Cool game. I like the take on the theme with the ray gun thingamajigy. Gives off heavy portal vibes so definitely a unique take on the portal game style. The reflection mechanic is especially interesting as it had such a unique feel! :)
Some criticism i would give is that i had a bit of trouble with the ball and button level at the start, so i think something like an arrow would be nice. The cooldown was also a bit annoying as it felt restricting at times. But overall solid game, solid concept, and i wish you luck! :)
Thank you! I'm coming up with a fix for the cooldown
I agree with everyone here, gives off portal vibes so my ratings may be a little bias since i love portal lol :))
Thank you! I also love portal :)
I have flashbacks of that one small portal 1 level with lasers.
Jod job mate!
Thank you!
I love this game , gives me immediate portal vibes (one of my most favorite games) .
I love the ray shooting mechanics and the level design .
Well done and all the best :)
Thank you! it was inspired by portal :)
Giving me portal vibes!!!
It was the inspiration for it :)
Interesting mechanic, but needs some work...
The button(s) behind the glass were not fun, and they can soft-lock the game - the ball ends up in a spot where it can't reach the button, even when sized with the mirror... and since you can't access it ( or destroy it?) you can't continue. The long, big hall with multiple such buttons was where I've stopped playing.
Still, congrats on making a game!
Thank you for your feedback! I will update my game once the rating period is over to fix it
The reflections are a really cool mechanic!
Thank you! I'm gonna try out your game
