Lot's of people have already complimented, but it's so true, THIS GAME LOOKS GREAT! Really nice lighting and rendering. Really impressive for 48 hours. I think the movement is a little rigid in how you can only move fixed distances and I didn't find it very smooth to both shoot and move. But this was a really wonderfully  experience and I liked the core idea of sharing health with the enemies and the crystal!

Thank you, we're very proud of how it turned out! This type of gameplay is best suited for a gamepad, but we have found in the past that most players will just use keyboard and mouse instead. With a bit more time, we'd like to implement both rather than prioritising just one, but with all GameJams, there are many things we would love to do that we just don't have time for unfortunately!

First of all this looks great visually. The shading is very pretty. I think the gameplay could be a bit stronger though. As a couple of commenters have mentioned, there's not very much feedback as to how well you're doing. I also feel like the mechanic is a bit underutilized. Past the first few levels, once the crystal has moved away from the center, it's actually pretty easy to just forget that it's even there. I also think that the enemy hitboxes should be a bit larger, there were many times in which it seemed like I should have been hitting them, but my bolts just past right through them. I do however like the general gameplay loop, with the arena getting larger as your progress. Perhaps without the 48 hour time limit, that idea could have been expanded even further, with different enemy types and environmental props or objects as the player progressed. Pretty cool overall!

Developer

Thank you for playing, and we appreciate you taking time to provide all that useful feedback! We would have loved just a bit more time to have addressed many of these issues, but that's just the nature of these short GameJams! I'm glad you enjoyed it overall regardless!

My goodness, what a stunning game! Lovely art, especially for only 48hrs! I loved the stun effect and the shield. It is a bit glitchy and buggy, and I'm not sure what the benefit is to hit the enemies, as they damage you, but overall a very pleasant experience :)

Developer

Thank you, the art team will be delighted! The idea is that when there are more enemies, it's easier to get overwhelmed, but when you kill them off, it's puts you at lower health which is riskier. However with such a short GameJam, it can be difficult to get the balance right! But we're glad you enjoyed it none-the-less!

The visuals are way more impressive than I would have expected from any 48h game, fantastic work! The sense of atmosphere is really good, the overall presentation seems very professional.

The gameplay is fun, but I think the player needs a bit more feedback on how well they are doing. It is hard to notice what the different actions do and how to use them strategically. I got through the game without really knowing how to play.

Developer

Thank you! Yes, we would love to had time to add more feedback to the player, but that's just how 48 hour Jams go sometimes! With some more time, we'd probably also work on getting the balance right so that we can explore the design further. At least it's better to be too easy than too hard!

The graphics are TOP-NOTCH. It's the first time in the jam I'm truly impressed by the visuals of a game. You did all of this in only 48h ? Damn, you guys are talented !

The concept itself was... Weird xD. The aiming with that camera angle was hard, but... I don't think I'm supposed to fire at the enemies anyway ? I played a bit with the stuns and knockbacks, but the most effective strategy seemed to just run in circle. I think that I miss something about what I need to do ^^'.

Honestly, I think that it's a really good starting point for a more complete game. I could really dig a Diablo-like type of game from that, with more rooms to explore, more enemies and some gameplay enhancements. Overall, that was still a positive experience, congratulations ^^ !

Also, I managed to fall during a transition by going near the walls, resulting in an infinite fall out of bounds ^^.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a play!

We're really happy with the visuals! The art guys are really talented I'm lucky to have them on my team!

We tried to go for something a bit different and admittedly it didn't work as well as we'd like but hey, we tried! :D

We were aware of the falling out of the levels but just ran out of time and couldn't get colliders on the windows, but hey, wouldn't be a gamejam without some terrible bug!

Whoa great job with the design and visuals :D

Thank you! We're really happy with the visuals!

Awesome! The art in this game is so good!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! The art team will greatly appreciate this comment :D

Lovely aesthetic!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Very impressive.
I didn't think I would come across a 3D game that good a 48h the jam !

Very good work on the animations !
It can become a little bit repetitive though.

Nice job ! :)

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! It was tough to get it all together in the time, but we're very happy with the result. With more time though, I think we could get a lot more out of the design to make the game more interesting and re-playable.

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! It looks super impressive for a 48 hour jam and the mechanics are super fun to play with! I think maybe if the crystal was connected with the player more, like some abilities triggered on both them at the same time or something like that? Good work overall though!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, that's a good idea! We'd like to think that there is much more we could do with this concept, but we're super happy that you enjoyed what we did manage to include!

Submitted(+1)

Wow! The art style is really great, and the concept is easy to learn. Good job!!

Developer

Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed it!

Hi @JustWinginlt the art of the game is astonishing, sound design is also good, I have some suggestion when I started playing it I was confused if enemies are getting hit, you should add some feedback if they get hit also I encountered a major bug when I was near the ends of the fighting arena I got out of it and started falling out of the game world. But overall for a 2day jam it's polished and nice :)

Developer(+1)

Yes, getting some hit reactions in there would have made a big difference, but for 48 hours, there are always going to be things that don't get in there! Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

good work on the concept and presentation! the main mechanic seems interesting in theory but the enemies never seem to attack the crystal so I just ran around and it worked out. maybe make the enemies be more of a threat to the crystal. other than that good work :)

Developer(+1)

Balancing the game was very tricky for us in the time unfortunately! But yes, we could have made the game trickier to really exaggerate the core mechanic. But thank you for your kind words!

Submitted(+1)

Very fun. loved the art. Playing on stun and knock  back is a great idea.

I would had a way to locate where the cristal is. Its a bit hard to locate on the bigger levels.

great job :)

Developer

Thank you! Yes, that's a good point, maybe we should have included a waypoint or something. Maybe next time!!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely LOVE the art aesthetic!!! Really awesome! Sometimes I wasn't exactly sure how I was losing health but really enjoyed how fast my character was for some reason! Also, I was able to be a level without attacking anyone. Was that on purpose since they were like reflections of myself.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, we're very proud of how the game ended up looking! The game fit the theme of 'Joined Together' by having the player and enemies share the same health bar, so as you shoot at and damage them, you also lose health. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to make that properly clear!

Submitted(+1)

Ahh! Totally makes sense! Kinda was feeling that the more I played it! Thanks for the reply!

Its a fun game with a cool art style, the music is a little repetitive (also i somehow went out of bounds and fell into the endless void)

Developer

Oh no, that's a shame. Yeah, we noticed there were some colliders missing but it was a bit late to fix! Glad you had fun though!

Submitted(+1)

The art and visuals looked very polished and professional especially for a game jam. The concept was really good and I think it was well executed but there wasn't enough feedback from any of the attacks so I never actually knew if I had hit anyone. The stun and knockback abilities also has great visuals but it was confusing trying to actually use them because I don't think they did enough. I really enjoyed the elevator music when the floors were moving.

Developer

We were very happy with the look we manged to get in the time, and thank you for complimenting the music too! The VFX was one of the last things to put in the game, so it's not as polished as we would like.  In hindsight, they should have been more important!

Submitted(+1)

Damn, the visuals and audio are stunning!

Only real point is that it would be nice to get some feedback when hitting an enemy, even if it's a small flash.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for that compliment! As one of the artists on the team, that's wonderful to hear! Yes, reactionary effects always seem to be the last things to implement, and sometimes you just don't have time to do everything. Lesson learned for next time though

Submitted(+1)

An interesting concept that could be refined into a really cool game. Looks good, too!

Developer

We had some ideas on things to add to the game, but we of course ran out of time to implement everything we wanted! Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

Very good looking game! I must say I didn't really get the "joined together" thing at the start, but after playing a second time I got it, interesting take!

Developer

Yeah, we worried about how to convey to the player how the theme was incorporated, but I'm glad that it make sense in the end! And thank you for playing the game twice! With nearly 6000 games out there to play, that means a lot to us!
