This is an epic game. This is a perfect time killer for people like me. Good job!
I'm really glad you liked it, thank you!
Really cool game! I loved the elements on the characters that gave feedback on their health! I think even though you had really simple graphics you made them work and made it look super clean! Nice interpretation of the theme! Good job!
Thank you so much! That's so nice to read :).
I'm so sad that this game lacks so much polish! (don't get me wrong, it's not bad but it could be soo much more). The gameplay idea / core mechanic alone is in my top 10 games i have played (and i have played 100+). With a bit more "umph" this could have been In my top 10 games as well! I hope we'll see more of you in the next GMTK jam.
Thank you for the feedback! I'm very glad to have my core mechanic be in your top 10% :).
I was trying to implement as much polish as possible. Can you please name some missing things that I shouldn't forget to include next time? That would be super helpful!
Good fun game!
I did feel like the game would almost work better as a conventional twin-stick bullet hell game where you actually have control of where you shoot. But that wouldn't fit the theme :P (what I'm looking for is more speed and action I think)
There are definitely ways to make the random direction mechanic work well though I just don't have the solution for how to make it great. :)
Thank you for the comment and the feedback :)!
Good execution on the idea of a twin stick where the player don't control the shooting. The feedback to know where the player is gonna shoot next is sometime missing on those game, which make it unfair.
Music is well chosen, didn't really see any bug, so good job overall !
Thank you, I'm very glad you liked it :)!
I love the presentation of this one, but the shooting happens too slowly for me! Maybe if it fired 2-3 shots before changing direction?
Good job otherwise
Thanks for the feedback! More shots per direction change is a cool idea! But it's a bit against my vision of lining up each shot. The pace could be a little faster, but too fast would make it hard to line the shots in time. Thanks again, glad you liked the presentation :)!
I have seen many games that just randomize input but they tend to be more annoying than fun. Yours is fun, because the arrow changing all the time makes you move constantly. You want to be close to the enemy because that allows you to be on their right side quickly in order to shoot them, but that's also risky because you have less reaction time if they shoot. Really good implementation of such a simple concept ;)
Also, pretty minimalistic but completely functional, snappy and polished. Loved the particle effects to signal destroyed enemies, good job!
Thank you for the beautiful comment, it really means a lot to me :)! I'm very glad you enjoyed the game!
a small concept but very well-polished. i really like the feedbacks and flow of the game. a small suggestion would be to put in some indicator when the next shoot will be, maybe just the rythm of the song or something like that, i feel like that would feel nice idk :D great game tho!
Thank you! I didn't have time to do music, but I can agree that shooting to the rythm would feel awesome! Glad you liked the game :)!
Ok, so i would love it if the shooting was faster :)
I like that the player sprite is also shows the amount of HP.
I also miss the anticipation of the shoot.
Bu i really had fun playing it
Thanks for the feedback! If the shooting was faster, I'm afraid it would be too hard to quickly react and line the shots. I can see how a faster pace might be more exciting though :). I'm very glad you had fun!
I think that i would be harder but it would add more dynamics :) Still this is your game and you decide what is the best. It is really fun right now
nice game was alot of fun the useing the player as a helthbar is very smart
Thank you, I'm glad you had fun!!
Nice game, I really like the shapes and colors and how it shows player and enemy health without UI
Thank you :)!
Absolutely love the enemies changing shapes to represent their health, such a simple but visually clear way to represent it! Overall a nice concept and very well executed, my only suggestion is that I which there was some visual indicator of how long it is till the next shot fires, be it a timer or some bar building. Really great job!
Thank you for the kind comment! I agree that an indication for the next shot would be nice. I didn't make it in the end, hoping that the rhythm would be enough. I'm glad you like the game and thanks again :)!
Very well done. Game is simple and polished with no need for an explanation of what you are doing or why.
Thanks, very glad you liked it!
This game makes me go YES!
3 seconds in and I think to myself "Oh so cool"
Everything is perfectly clear and feels good
Great touch for displaying player health without any UI
Simple, Clear and Fun
Nice game !
Thank you so much for all the kind words :)!
When you get into it a bit, you just go brrr and kill everythign!
I hope you had fun :).
I did!
I like this game! I've seen a lot of games in this jam with the same idea, but this one adds a direction indicator for the next shot which adds a lot more strategy!
The minimalist graphics are nice and the gameplay feels smooth and response. The gameplay stage felt a bit too small for me, making things unnecessarily hard at times --- but this is a very minor things. Great work!
Thank you for the comment, I'm very glad you enjoyed it :)!
I really like the clean visual style, however in the end I found the slowness of the shooting frustrating. I feel like this would've been more fun if the pace you shoot in had also varied, or you could've controlled that yourself. I did like how enemy and player health were visually communicated really minimalistically. Thanks for making this!
Thank you for the feedback! I could have made the game's pace faster, sorry if it felt slow. But I think it's better for the timings not to vary but instead be predictable - I really wanted the input randomness. Thanks again, I hope you liked it :).
What I weirdly like is that you can play it with only one hand making it for me easier to play (I have a paralysed right arm ;) )!
So 10/10 for accesability!
Very glad you liked it :), thank you!
Nicely done.
I can't go past 10 though ^^'
the gameplay feels good
The minimalist background is a nice touch.
Thank you very much! Yeah, the game is quite hard... I'm glad you could see the second enemy though :)!
