'Out of control' lead me to think of ships flying through space, completely at the whim of the forces around them

I like the core mechanic of not being able to stop flying towards the cursor, I thought that part worked pretty well! I do wish the second ship came in a little more gently. I pretty much just focused on keeping them both off the bottom of the screen once the second ship appeared. Also the game over music is very loud compared to the game music and is pretty unpleasant to listen to.

Great job man, this game is not bad at all 💪

I think I would really like this game, but there are two things that kinda kept me from really being able to progress: 1.) because the mouse is both used for moving the player and aiming, it's really tough to actually hit an astroid, and NOT run into it, as you'll be dashing towards it. 2.) I expected the second ship to already be there when I started, and just slowly go down, but it spawned in way later, and fell down like a literal brick, lol. I almost didn't see it, it went so fast. I tried to keep them both in the air, but it felt impossible. I'd recommend making them fall down slower and starting with both ships on the screen at once. I'd also recommend making the movment use WASD/arrow keys and the aiming use the mouse. Other than that I think the game has a lot of potential, I can see this being developed further into interesting levels, even with some puzzle elements, where you constantly switch between the two ships. Good job on this entry!

thanks for playing + for the feedback! the idea behind your first point is to swap as you approach the enemies, as then your invulnerable ship can crash into them and cause an instant kill.

Ohhhhhhhh I didn't know _that_, I found it very strange indeed that you said I could deal a ton of damage, but it just hurt me. Still would go with the keys + mouse approach tho, but that's just a tip, it's your choice :)

Great concept and execution! The controls felt really smooth and nice to play with. The game is tough, but I enjoyed myself!

super fun!

Very cool. But it’s very difficult to control two ships.

Submitted(+1)

It was too difficult for me, but I liked the idea a lot!

Developer

thanks for playing :) glad u liked it!

I took some time before i figured everything out XD
fun mechanics
i'd rather see this in a lvl-based game than in an infinite survival (it remember me of just shapes and beats, but maybe it's just because i love bullethells)

Developer

thanks for the feedback! never crossed my mind to do a level based game with these mechanics, now you got me curious lol

This is tough- But really fun! I dig the background music and the ship juggling mechanic. Great job!

glad you enjoyed playing :) thanks for the feedback !

This one is challenging , hope i can make it to wave 3
Art and music creates a good mood for the game :) excellent job

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

thanks man, wave three is no small feat ! i barely ever made it past wave four after 2 days of testing lol

Awesome idea, is was to difficult for me to keep swapping ship, maybe the gravity wasn't necessary, just dodging and shooting asteroids and enemies seemed challenging enough but great game, keep it up.

Introducing the second ship turns the game from Asteroids into a juggling simulator real fast, haha. You really can't focus on anything except keeping both ships from falling constantly. I think it would be interesting to have the second ship follow or orbit you but also take damage, that way you can keep trying to shoot stuff with both ships, but at higher risk of running into things. Just a thought. Nice art, music, and effects though!

Developer (1 edit)

thanks for the feedback :) in hindsight i should have started with the two ships before getting the screen too cluttered haha

Submitted(+1)

Very hard game! I wished the second ship was introduced earlier, to get a feel for it before it gets harder, and I also thing it needs a bit more energy: bigger bullets, more visual feedback in general. Other than that, it's great!

Developer

thanks for playing + glad you enjoyed it! Initially i had it so both ships spawned together, but since i hadn't added the start countdown in at that point it was very easy to die. if I put out another build of this i'll def try to smooth the difficulty out a bit more :)

If you polish some parts of it (like making the learning curve smoother and maybe more visual feedback), it will make the game really fun! But apart from that, it was a good challenging game, keep up working on games :) liked it!

Nice work, a little hard for me but it's challenging

Submitted(+1)

Good concept. Maybe a bit hard because the player went to fast into the enemies.

Overall it is a good concept!

Developer

thank you! and i agree, i kinda wanted to emulate the difficulty of traditional bullet hell games
