This is a very atmospheric game and looks pretty good considering it's mostly just cubes! I think just a bit more explaination in the game would be a good idea to help people understand what is going on but that's something that can be added after the rating period ends. Keep developing it! I am interested to see where it will go!

A unique game. The movement felt a bit tedious. I'd prefer if the movement leaps would be slightly longer. The gun didn't feel useful, you could win by just moving forward as the enemies couldn't catch you. There is potential in this game.

Quite hard game but still perfectly enjoyable :D
thanks for the game !

This game confused me a lot.. sorry. Then again, I played it half a sleep.

Developer

Yeah, it really needs more feedback on what's going on (particularly, how the enemies move every time you do anything, like move/shoot/reload). Also, it sort of punishes players when they rush, so that might confuse people expecting a faster pace. I'll try to add more sounds and some form of tutorial to make things clearer.

Give it another go sometime, if you're ever up to it, but if you feel it's just not for you, that's fine. There are a lot of games out there, it's hard to give them all the same attention. Don't worry about it. ;)

I'm still not sure where I was supposed to be going, but I liked the feel of the game. I liked having to constantly keep an eye out for new enemies and watching behind me to the ones following me. Besides music/sound, one thing that might make this a bit more interesting is being able to move constantly, and having enemies move constantly. It could still be done on a grid, but that way, if an enemy was following you, you'd feel like you have to constantly move, rather than have more time to plan out a movement. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.

The initial plan was to make it so the more "panicked" the player was, the worse things got. That way, when people try to rush they get blindsided, but when they stay calm they are more successful. I didn't make that more clear because i was afraid it might make the game a bit too easy.

However, i did think about testing it out with real time movement to see if it'd be fun at one point, but the deadline was closing in fast, so i decided to just finish what i started. :P

Excellent concept team !

I imagine that could be a really nice horror game with more visual and SFX

Interesting! I like what you do with the lighting, it's a really cool idea. I'm personally very biased towards music, so I'll always recommend adding some (there's many good ones in opengameart if making music isn't your thing); especially in games like this one where you're trying to add an interesting mood to the game. I liked how your own light makes walls look red like your nightmares; it's an interesting detail.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I used the red light to keep sort of a dual color ambiance going, but then while playtesting i kept doing double takes when i spun around sometimes... it was a really interesting little bonus, i'm glad someone else noticed (guess i'm not just too jumpy). :P

As for the music, i agree, and i've been meaning to learn more about sound, because i think when you really nail the audio (music & sfx), it adds SO much more life to a game. Hopefully i can take some time for that this semester. Thanks for the feedback.

Neat Game! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Also, i'm glad it got a chuckle at the end. xD

It's a cool concept and the art style is also pretty supportive of the setting. Well done!

I love the cover art

Thanks! My mom said she'll put it right on the fridge, which is weird since she hasn't done that since i went to college. ;)

Btw, i tried your game and it's awesome.

This game very cool! it was pretty scary hahaha, also the simple art style is very good! please check out my game too :D

I checked out your game and really liked the art style. I was surprised at the file size too. Did you just program it directly in OpenGL or something? It's insane.

i used gms, there are no 3d models so the size is pretty small

cool game! its scary yes but please add more enemies around the map because when i escaped the only one it felt like i had just won also cool ending xd

Developer(+1)

Thanks, i'll look into it. :)

Currently there are several enemies, they just wander around and might have happened to miss you. I'll see if that's a common occurrence and make some changes.
