how do you only have 36 ratings?!

this game is phenominal! straight into my favorites list!

my favorite weapon is the lightsaber.

it would be cool if you had some kind of in-game tutorial (or grace period before starting the action to allow the player to get acclimated to the controls). one option is to fill the room with harmless dummies or NPCs that start spawning the other enemies once they are killed.

very cool game!

Thanks for your review! I agree, i could maybe add a "death reason" when you die so that you can understand the reason cause its sometimes vague, maybe in a post-jam update! Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate it! And if you know how to get ratings plz help :)

Great game, lots of fun. You should definitely keep working on this if you have the time.

Really liked this game ! I hope it is furthered developed in the  near future !!

I really enjoyed this game!

Very smart concept:  simple to understand yet not easy to reach a high score, making the game even more interesting, challenging and catchy 👌

The swapping, graphics and soundtrack are really cool, keep up the good work!

Very original and well executed concept!

Would have liked a visual guide on the bomb to show the radius, as right now it's a bit hard to tell.

All the weapon types were fun to use and there weren't any "dud" weapons.

Great submission!

I love it! I'm so going to play this more to git gut at it!

This was a lot of fun! I'd like to see this turned into a longer game.

The only criticisms I have are the kinds of things you'd expect from a jam: running into enemies right after Green Shell ends, for instance.

Good job 😁

I'm glad you enjoyed playing it! I agree with you, i should have added a small signal that your weapon will start/end. Thanks for your time and feedback!

Funny how we both kinda had the same idea, but a totally different approach. I wanted to do random weapon swaps - but had no time to implement it. Your game is only the random weapon swaps and it works really nice.

The graphics could use some polish, but yeah ... it's a jam.

The gameplay is awesome - I just kept retrying ^^

But sometimes it's a bit harsh - you die pretty quickly and sometimes without even knowing what happend. For instance I died a couple of times while being the Snake - since I bit my own tail

Overall great work!

Im really interested in teying your game I'll play it asap! I agree that sometimes death feels unfair, but in its core its kind of a rage game xD thanks for your time and comment and im glad you liked the game!

It reminds me of Escape the Gungeon. I love your game, such variety ! But it makes things hard when your switch weapon. You should add a countdown. Because of the variety, some weapons are used with opposite directions for example (gun /electro dash) and you can easily go right in the enemy, the adaptation time is really short.
Tiny bug : when you die, the monsters go through walls and go away

Developer

Thank you for your review! Yea the enemies go through walls after you die, but it didnt matter much so i just left it there xD Im glad you liked the game and thanks for your time :) I'll try your game out very soo

Very neat idea!

I enjoyed the variety of (legally distinct) attacks and having to adapt to whatever the next form of offense would be, but not having any notification of when they would end was often the death of me more than  actually being caught by an enemy. Still, a very fun base for a game, and with more variety in enemies and more crazy types of attacks, I could see this being a really fun and engaging high-score game.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I agree, i think giving a small hint before the start/end of weapons could have helped. Thanks for your time :)

The variety of this game really sells it. Having everything feel different and satifying to use really worked in its favour. If extended out to a full game however, the randomness would probably be more annoying than fun, so thats just something to bare in mind if you want to take this further.

That being said, I do see a lot of potential here and this is a very strong submission to the jam for such a simple concept.

Loved the variation of the weapons, the green shell was my favorite!!  Like others, I wanted a short invincibility after losing my weapon but other than that the gameplay was fun and engaging!  Could definitely be expanded into something more I bet

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it. And i agree, i should have dealt with this issue during the development, i guess its a lesson for future game jams!

Submitted(+2)

I was quite impressed by how engaging all the weapons were (seriously a game based around just on of these could be fun all on it's own). One thing I might consider adding is a short invincibility window right after "losing" your current weapon (like half a second), because I found myself often dying at that exact moment because of how some of the weapons worked (or maybe I just need to get good haha).

Developer(+1)

I totally agree with you! I think warning the player before giving them a weapon or taking it away was a must, but i didn't realize that until submission! Maybe next time xD thanks for your feedback!

Submitted(+2)

All the weapons are exciting to use, which brings a lot to the random weapon idea! Enjoyed it overall.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and for your feedback!!

I love the idea, especially some of the weapons that were created.   Often that's harder than the game concept itself.  The transition was definitely hard to manage,  the machine gun pushed me into guys I was running away from almost every time.  Can't wait to see this concept further developed.

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you liked the game!

Good Game one of the best I've played so far.   I actually  wanted to keep playing but more games must be rated.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed playing it!

I like this game quite a bit. It could definitely could use some polish, in terms of transitions, movement, and room complexity, etc, but for an early pass the concept is solid.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your time! I agree there are some rough edges here and there that can be fixed, and thanks for your advice!
