How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
You are in a literal slot machine, giving you lots of 'unlucky' effects you can use in your favor to murder enemies.

Very polished entry, Vampire Survivors-like gameplay with the slot machine mechanic fitting in decently with the theme. The music is a standout, graphics are also great. The main gameplay loop didnt feel incredibly challenging, The player could mostly dodge the enemies and there wasn't much incentive to take them out. Still a complete experience and solid entry.
This was a banger! I really enjoyed my couple of runs, though I kept wishing my gun could get upgraded over time. I felt pretty helpless in the later rounds given the number of baddies that were spawning and heading my way. I really appreciated how y'all approached the controls for this too. As jankspace called out, that strafing mechanic is fire. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
Fun to play, great art, catchy music - successful all in all. As some others said, the gun felt too weak, and killing enemies didn’t seem worth the effort vs just running around and waiting it out. I also stopped buying upgrades pretty quickly and saved for the 7s. That said, this was really well done, so nice work!
Edit: I should also mention that I didn’t realize there was a strafing mechanic until round 4. It’s worth highlighting to players, because it makes the gun more useful. This game is also begging for controller support! :)
Wow, the game already looks finished after just 10 days — how did you do that? Awesome!
Really solid in every aspect. Had a lot of fun with it ! Everything is super polished, especially the art.
Congratz !
An arena shooter where destructive and helpful events occur based on chance is a great concept and a lot of fun. I did find the gun to be pretty useless most of the time and ended up just running away from the enemies hoping for a destructive event, but that might be part of the point. The presentation is some of my favorite in the jam. The music and visuals are all top notch
This was awesome! No notes beyond that really, art and music were perfect and the difficulty level wasn't too high. Great job!
Overall, it's STUNNING! Every detail is award-winning, from the art to the theme to the music. I loved the character designs, especially the stack of chips that break into individual ones! Too cute! And even the logo, WOW!
My humble feedback:
The core gameplay feels off because you don’t even need to shoot a single enemy to advance—you can simply wait out the spin count. This also might explain why the enemies are so difficult to kill. No matter how many you do kill, the swarm grows so large that your only option is often to run in circles until the spin count runs out anyway.
So, I think it would be more fun to clear all the enemies in the round before moving on, but they’d have to be easier to kill. Then the wheel spins could serve as a strategic “boost” that you can trigger when you're desperate.
Also, I’d rather use coins to buy character upgrades like speed or weapon boosts, instead of altering the big wheel allowing it to be 100% chance. Spins could cost coins, like a real slot machine, making the spins themselves a strategic resource too.
Make no mistake, this game is AMAZING! I'm only saying any of this because I literally ran in circles for eight rounds, bought three "7"s, and won the game—so just something to think about.
Overall, this was the best game I played so far for GBJAM 13. Great job!
Wow!!! A brilliantly compact premise, polished to a mirror shine! Short, jazzy, and frantic; the double-facing environmental hazards are a nice spin on the theme. I almost regret getting triple 7s after six-ish rounds; I could've played much longer. Great work!
Top marks in basically every category.
I only regret that I pretty much only ever bought 7's once I realized that I had to put the icons onto the slot machine after they were purchased. It made me not want to try the other things until the game pushed the issue on me and made me feel the "need" for more power. I wish I had more time to run back through it more and play with some of the other toys, but absolutely a great entry here.
great idea. very addictive. must have taken me over an hour to beat it. you've hit the sweet spot here of "just one more go". very well polished, and a fantastic soundtrack to boot. nice work!
Such a banger! Love this
Well done! Games at jams feel a lot more complete if they have a story.
The only thing that doesn't do the game any favour is the small screen. I feel like this game would be even more awesome if the arena would be in the viewport. But then it wouldn't be a game boy game anymore.
Like everyone else here, I'm really impressed with the amount of polish and work that went into this. Truly a great entry.
saw the monster sprites in the progress part of the discord. knew it was gonna be a fun game. even got the the intro cutscence accurate. Amazing game!
This is such a good game! It feels incredibly complete, excellent work.
What a game ! Solid in pretty much every aspect, best one so far for me
This is the best game I have played in the game so far I love everything about it excellent work.
This game is perfect until I cannot stop playing—a very great concept in every aspect.
WOW this is polished across the board!!! Unbelievable. The shop, the palette-fades, this is so developed for only a week! Great job everyone on the team. I would be interested to read a post-jam breakdown of how the development process went for you guys. Super impressive :D
