How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
The game's conflict centers around a bake-danuki (traditionally associated with prosperity) who has lost all eight of his fortunate traits through rather odd circumstances. The goal of the game is to build yourself back up to your original lucky self. There is also a tertiary mechanic involving lucky and unlucky numbers.

Well executed and very much something I could expect to play on a gameboy. Nice work!
Really fun platformer! I did run into an issue where the camera appeared to flicker from one frame to the next, changing the view and making part of the level seemingly unplayable (I can share on discord if you're curious to see what I saw), but otherwise I really enjoyed my two runs here. Nice visuals, audio and overall gameplay. Thanks for making and sharing your game.
I apologize; that was an area loading error. Thank you for playing; I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Absolute gem, solid movement, good progressions and a tutorial to boot.
Found a few soft locks, like left tunnel not being able to walk back to the right and falling off the map. But overall, a brilliant game that I really enjoyed. Would love to see a full version after the jam. Great entry and definitely a good time playing.

To the left of here is where I couldn't walk back btw and I had to restart
A solid entry! I was suprised, thought "a classic platformer" and then bam, metroidvania! A really smooth tutorial on how to use your powers (give player a easy level to test them out freely before removing them). I did not finished it, propably that soft lock you are writing about, no way to exit an area, no more upgrades in range.
But it was really fun watching how the main character is growing back with each upgrade, a fun idea :)
I liked both the music and graphics but some sprites were badly readable, I would trade some of visual attractiveness for readability, I could not tell what some of the sprites represent.

I agree; readability, context, and clarity got botched in a lot of places. Thank you for playing; I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I really liked how loosing all your power up played into the theme of the jam. My initial thought was that it was going to be a side scrolling platformer, and was pleasantly surprised when in turn into a metrovania game. Overall good job on gameplay and art.
The classic metroidvainia oops no powers gambit works pretty well with the game theme. Graphics and presentation is choice - even just the wrapper around the game is a pretty impressive little achievement. The music is catchy and spot on with the Gb chiptune vibes, and Iiked the traversal and progression of getting power back (though I should have read the whole thing below the game first to understand them better lol)
Cool entry found the switch up of having to regain all your powers really fun.
Pretty complete for a game jam. I liked the music, graphics and controls. I also loved having the visual controls showing what you are doing, that's a thing I always wanted to implement, I suppose it makes the game playable in mobile devices too.
I really enjoyed this, I had an issue with the sound that I couldn't seem to solve, I have no SFX or Music. Still played the whole game and enjoyed every second of it. Interesting and fun mechanics and the art is nice.
EDIT: Replayed it and I liked it even more with sound, really tied the whole thing together and my overall impression of the game is higher than it was yesterday.
Good job on this!
Do you happen to be playing on Safari browser? I am aware that Safari does not support the widely used ogg Vorbis audio file format... for some reason.
Thank you for playing; I'm glad you enjoyed it!
mm, I am, if I have time later I’ll play it again on my desktop to get the music and SFX.
I replayed it on my desktop and I liked it even more with sound, really tied the whole thing together and my overall impression of the game is higher than it was yesterday. The mechanics are super clean and don't clash with each other. Music was great and the SFX are snappy and clean.
Overall, I am super impressed you made this in 10 days.
Thank you for taking more of your time to test the desktop build. I don't receive as much feedback on desktop compatibility as with web, and I'm satisfied to hear that the audio issues did not persist.
I'm glad you enjoyed it even more!
I ran into some soft lock issues, the main problem was my SAVE kept sticking even when I opened up the game in a new tab so I wasn't able to start from the beginning again, I really wanted to give it another shot! I enjoyed the exploratory nature of the game and all the little upgrades were fun to unlock. The music was fun too, who doesn't love a Jazz Racoon! If there's one major fix I'd suggest it would be going with a different background pattern on the walls. The way you used dithering to open up the players field of view was a creative approach but it can be really visually jarring at points. Something like a bigger brick pattern might help things look a little less flicker-y.
This game makes me feel like I need a drink, in a good way!
Cheers!
Thank you for the detailed feedback! In retrospect, the field of view dithering effect may be a bit harsh in spots. I will compare bigger brick patterns, as well as alternate ways of implementing the blindness effect.
Regarding your save, have you attempted to erase your save file through the pause menu? [ By pressing 'C', 'E', 'L', 'Enter' on a keyboard or 'Start' on a gamepad ]. It should be the third option down... although it does seem to temporarily erase the menu text when used.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I did try to erase the save but I’ll give it another shot sometime.
It’s great how much you can collect in your game, and that the game changes after the first level. Really well done, it’s a lot of fun!
Very nice gameplay! It's well supported by solid graphics, it was a very enjoyable experience :D
I got stuck between screens unfortunately :/ But apart from that, it was a smart idea!
Thank you for making the game :D
Really cool game! Played smoothly with a lot of mechanics I loved the music
I really enjoyed the gameplay, especially the mechanic where you and your hat create a shockwave that stuns enemies when you land. The art style is amazing; you've made the most of that 4-color palette. Great game! Congratulations!
Lots of fun, and a great looking and sounding game!
interesting game XD
but the collecting power up area have weird screen bug when played on pc
but the concept of collecting back old power is interesting
The characters are SO STINKIN' CUTE!! They're tiny but so readable and unique. Loved the tail midair float, it felt soo good after playing so many games that don't even have a double jump. I admit I was a little lost though. Kind of gave up without a clear direction of what to do next, and perhaps you could simplify all the power ups or something. But, honestly, there's so much potential here! I'd definitely come back to play this again in the future! Great job!
Wow, incredible game! I really like the graphics, the animations and the gameplay.
Congratulations, it's really impressive
Cool game and good story.
