Not all your playtesters were pro speedrunners...  🤣🤣

Mental!

Yyessssssss

Awesome work! Love the Winamp/Lofiamp player!!

Loved the jam game so much! Didn't finish it though, so i need to revisit it!

yours is waaaaay better! And I didn't rap it either! 😂

(1 edit)

Awesome effort!! LOVE THE RAP!!

Sadly the game won't be able to be added to the official Jam cartidge/ROM, as that is built up using GB Studio and some wizardry Phthon scripting to parse all the entries.

The game looks awesome, and just what Jams are for - to inspire and push you forward to create even more!

Good job!!

thanks! I added the dithering with a separate layer in Photoshop, so was able to turn it on and off - and it really changed the vibe! Was going for a dark circus tent/spotlight feel.

was the worlds worst cartridge!! Haha

Thanks for your kind words!

I do yeah, i'd like to get an official game up and running, and in color too. I've completed the demo since the Jam close date, so that's working. I just need to flesh it out a little more and polish it up!

And the submission button can be found on the main Jam page:

Ahh - that may well be an admin screen, apologies! The first step is valid though.

If you go to your project page, you should see the following on the right:

And if you go to the submission page https://itch.io/jam/gbpixelartjam25/entries you should see you have a "My Submissions (1)" link:

(And you should see your submission in this submission page too!)

Now it's in the Jam!

You've not submitted it to the Jam yet. There's a big button on the overview page https://itch.io/jam/gbpixelartjam25  "Submit your project".  Choose an existing project that you have to submit it.

I don't see your entry in the Jam, sorry. There is a big "Submit your entry"on the main Jam page - https://itch.io/jam/gbpixelartjam25

haha, spent many hours on that game!! Love it!

I feel a great disturbance....

It has to be a static single image (160px by 144px) - can be an imagined game scene if you like, or just an image, design, artwork etc. The theme(s) are 1-bit - so just black and white pixels, no other colours allowed. And the secondary theme is "balance" - so something that comes to mind when you think "balance".

Read the restrictions in the rules about the amount of 8x8 tiles that can be allowed, as all artwork submissions will be created as a Game Boy ROM to play on real hardware.  Use this tool - https://gb-studio-tile-count.netlify.app/ to check your image fits within the 192 tile limit.

All variations of a background tile are deemed to be unique - rotating or flipping them will not be counted as the same tile. We're going to render this on original DMG hardware, so need to stick to these limits.

Thanks for the kind words - I really wish I pushed and got level 2 working well!

thanks for the play. Yes - the game is very un-finished and only level 1 is completed.

Catchy tunes, and cool graphics! Could see this on a GB.

Lots of fun, and a great looking and sounding game!

I hope to finish this one off, thanks for playing!

thanks!

thanks for playing!

thank you very much! The music is great!

thanks for the kind words!

Love them! Always handy to have a default list of menu and icon blips and beeps! Thanks!

really want to expand on the idea and make a full game on this. Thanks for playing.

Thanks!

I'm gutted I couldn't finish in time - I think I was on to a winner of a game too! Oh Well?!

A lot of fun to play. Took some time to get the rolling and jumping just right, but was a fun mechanic to play with! Very quirky!

Took me a while to get to grips with the time mechanic, but managed to get a few steps in. Very quirky gameplay - enjoyed it!
