Great work. An interesting addition to the classic Tetris game. Even using last stand I still failed miserably.
The mechanics work well but doesn't make the game easy, as I still found myself panicing and making mistakes and then ultimately failing.
Sound effects and music are good.
Was the omission of being able to view the next piece that will become available a design decision?
Was the omission of being able to view the next piece that will become available a design decision?
It was because I thought it was making the game too easy, but I'm planning to add a hard mode and the view next piece feature after the jam.
Thanks for playing.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who still found it difficult :)
Really well made game, and I love the added touch of the background of the town, the music worked really well too!
An interesting take on the classic Tetris game and an interesting non-conventional take on the "Last Stand" theme. I think the game lacks any real challenge. It should get harder as you progress. At no point did I need to use the last stand feature. If the game got harder, the player would be in a position to use the feature and hence the game would fit the theme of the jam better, instead of just an add on for the sake of fitting the theme of the jam. Naming it after some town that needed to move also seemed unnecessary to me, doesn't really have anything to do with Tetris. The music was a really good choice, it worked really well with the gameplay.
The drop rate of the pieces increases at 300, 600 and 900 score.
Trust me, I had to use the Last Stand feature a Lot :)
Interesting adaptation of the theme to a classic game! It's cool you were inspired by real-life events to create the story that encapsulated the gameplay.
I loved how you reinvested the classic Tetris game, it is fun and good looking, I love it!
Very faithful adaptation of the classic for the jam! It played very well. The only thing I wish was for a bit more of a challenge curve. It didn't feel like there was a need to use the Last Stand move because I could keep it relatively clear. The scoring was nice though. I think I got to about 3800, but had to call it there.
Fair enough, thanks for playing for that long.
It's the first time in my 9 or 10 jams that I've seen the request to make a game harder, its usually the opposite and I think I erred too much that way, I'll fix it post jam with a hard mode :)
it was a fun story and interpretation of the idea.
Cool take on tetris but since it doesn't get harder over time it's too easy and I never needed the Last Stand.
Hi, the droprate of the pieces increases 3 times, at scores of 300, 600 and 900, but yeh it needs a hard mode :)
At first i was saying the speed of the blocks are not ramping up... then it ramped up, for real. loved it.
Really fun twist on a classic! The clear row sound effect was one of the most satisfying my ears have tasted in the jam!
Awesome job!
Interesting interpretation of the theme there, I thought the mechanics in yours worked well and it was fun, I thought you did a nice job on it!
I always enjoy a good Tetris game. Great job!
Super relaxing to play some Tetris in the mix of all these other games. Thanks for the peaceful flow state. I want you to know I slammed that Last Stand button every chance I got lol. Just too satisfying.
A solid tetris game with some extra features. I really liked the last stand option :D As I read in the comments like others I needed to force myself to stop playing :D Nice music also, all together just somehow pulls you in to stay and play forever, well done!
Thanks, I noticed that myself when testing, sometimes I'd use Last Stand just to keep listening to the music.
Loved what you did with adding the last stand mechanic to the Tetris style game! Also creating a full row felt very satisfying the visual and sound effect that you used. Very nice game!
a very solid tetris game! last stand ability is a nice addition
Really interesting entry! Love Tetris. Only thing I noticed is the bag algorithm might be a little off, as there are massive droughts between pieces. Otherwise, this is great!
cheers, it's just using a Random.Range() through the index of pieces, so I guess I really get to blame Unity for this one :)
Who doesn't love tetris with great music? Great job.
Tetris! Yes!!
Love it!! It works like a charm. Good work!!
Nice one! Been a while since I played tetris and I really enjoyed playing again, felt like a very solid build. I also liked the story and atmosphere you placed it in, felt quite relaxing even if tetris is generally pretty stressful for me. Lovely job!
