Thanks for your reply.

We are currently working on updating the game, and it has been slowed down since this release, we have also fixed the bug where the orb gets stuck when exiting a host.

The orb is now easier to control, it doesn't fly off in the distance anymore. It is also now easier to possess an enemy, and the orb will now survive for a lot longer without a host.

We will also add in a screen to properly describe what's going on and what the player needs to do in the game.

We hope you will enjoy the final version when it is released.

Thanks again for playing.

I like the art style and the mechanic of leaving a bridge behind when you die, very nice. It would work better with some more obstacles and enemies, or different hazards to try and pass.

Is there a way to attack? I think death should have an attack so that knight can't kill him.

I think one of the collisions was a bit off on a platform, I landed near the edge, but not over the edge, and fell down anyway.

Good work on your submission.

I like the graphics and the look of the town you are in.

The van would move and accelerate far too quickly, and so I could barely control it.

I wasn't able to collect all coins as I couldn't do it quick enough and would fall off the roads.

The music was quite nice but it could have done with more sound effects, especially for the van engine.

Did you have any ideas that didn't make it into the game? Were you going to do anything else with death as his van? Because at the moment the game doesn't benefit from the theme.

Overall good work on getting your game submitted. I hope you can expand upon it.

I tried the game but I cannot move. I'm using keyboard and mouse, and WASD and space bar are doing nothing.

Can you explain the controls please. Thanks

I couldn't get anywhere in this game. Part of these screen is cut off, as I can't read the full instructions and the full screen button isn't visible.

I only found one ghost in the crate, and I showed it the consequences and then nothing else happened. 4 crates and only 1 ghost, was I missing something?

Nice little game with a happy ghost.

The game really needs some sound effects for when you are "booing" and getting damaged by lights.

I do like the different "boo" graphics that appear though. And I think I saw the the humans shaking a little bit, I saw the light slightly shaking side to side, it would be good if that effect was more pronounced.

They just disappear when you scare them too much, is that meant to happen?

Overall good work, you could do a lot more with this idea and it would be interesting to see what you come up with.

Pretty fun game. I like the presentation, and the graphics are nice and atmospheric.

I like how the AI of your minions works too, you don't have to worry about them, they just run into battle and fight.

It was a bit hard to see what was going on when there were about 20 of them fighting. When I cast a fireball, I wasn't sure if I done any damage or I missed

And skill 5, the one that enhances your minions power for a shot time, it seems to work regardless of where you point the cursor, or am I mistaken? I couldn't tell, so I always aimed it anyway.

The selection of skills is nice too

I died straight away at the end when somebody one shotted me with a fireball. I think maybe that should be a little less powerful, so you can still fight if you get hit once, but die on 2 hits. A life leech skill would also be good, so you can keep your health topped up.

Great work!

Thanks very much for the great feedback! We are so glad everyone is loving the art, but people being confused with the game is a common occurrence, and we really wish we had a bit more time to make it easier to follow.

The orb should only die if it's not possessing anyone, and once you do possess someone, the orb health will slowly regenerate.

When our final version comes it will be with full explanation and be a lot clearer on what to do. The intro will be fleshed out and bugs will be fixed. Thanks again.

Yes I'll add your game to my list and will most likely be able to play it tomorrow. I saw it being played on stream and it looks pretty interesting, and the HUD gave me some Diablo vibes.

Thanks for your amazing feedback, we are so glad you love the pixel art and intro.

The orb becoming stuck when exiting a host is a nasty little bug that I thought I'd fixed. It's caused by the control scheme attempting to switch from one prefab to another, while the first is still active, if it tries to switch too fast, it can't because the first object still has control. You experienced it with a gamepad, and I experienced it yesterday with the keyboard. I should be able to fix it by just making sure the host is fully dead before the orb comes back into existence.

That and more will be fixed, and updated, when we do our final build of the game. We really want to fix all of the problems and finish the game to our original vision.

Thanks again.

Thank you for your amazing feedback, it's really appreciated!

Our artist is very happy that people enjoy the artwork so much.

Yes we would have liked to add music, but we spent so much time doing the graphics and getting the possession mechanic to work, that we didn't have time to hunt down a suitable track for the game.

The orb health does slowly regenerate when you're inside a host, but it takes a bout 2-3x longer to regen as it does to deplete (if it didn't then it's a bug)

We do plan to expand on it further, as we want to fully complete the ideas we had. So we will expand on the level, better placement of enemies, more environment graphics, fix all the bugs, maybe add a 4th enemy type, balance them all correctly, and add a proper controls screen, with story, and game ending.

We are glad you like the Splendid Fox,, he really is a top bloke.

Yes I knew about the splash screen but totally forgot about it for this release, so thanks for reminding me, we will be sure to add it in for the final complete release of the game.

Haha nice and morbid. yes I saw the fish tank but it was empty. I also tried to get in the shower, but no luck.

Would be good to see the final version of this.

Aesthetics are nice, but it's sad the game is lacking any sort of audio.

I would have liked to have been able to move forwards and backwards too, it would help with dodging the projectiles.

I think there is a bug with the firing, or you have implemented anti spam? But if you repeatedly press fire, nothing happens, if you press it every second then you can continue firing.

I played this game because I wanted to find out who stole my eggs, while I have a better idea of who it was, I still want to find the culprit and deal with them :)

Nice work.

I like the art style and it's a great idea, living as a cat when your owner is dead. I would love to see more of it, explore more of the house, do more things, see what the crafting is all about.

And what the cat does to nana is exactly what a cat would do the moment you die.

The music is nice and relaxing.

Although its very easy to fall out of the level if you walk forward.

I'm guessing after 20 days the granddaughter is meant to turn up only to find nana dead, with all of her clothes turned into calls of yarn and the cat licking its paws.

Good work.

The graphics style is very nice, it's a shame there is no sound at all.

Is it game over when all guards are dead? I didn't get that far, I just died.

I really like the mechanic of shooting armour off the guards, then they run away to rearm at the weapons rack, thats really nice.

But I'm not sure what happened at the start, did he spend all of his life in prison, then come back as an undead monster?

Overall good work.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this game.

Nothing is explained and not much is happening. I collected the red dots for a couple of minutes, and the score went up, but that's it.

Why can I control the bar at the top with my mouse?

Ideally you should build the game and upload that as well so people can easily play it.

However, this is a unity project, so I loaded it into my unity, and it is an extremely simple game of navigating a ball past obstacles to get to a goal, and that's it. It uses simple Unity primitives with a material colour on them.

There is no sound, or story, and it has nothing to do with the game jam theme.

Graphics are very nice, and the music fits the game well, but I couldn't really work out what to do.

There were amulets about the place that I couldn't pick up, even after my health depleted.

Pressing E didn't seem to do anything in some parts.

I don't know why I was collecting the coloured stones, I couldn't seem to do anything with them., and I couldn't pick all of them up.

I also managed to escape the level by exiting the first room where Sekhmet came from. Then I just ran around the outside of the map and entered the room at the end and made my way to the afterlife.

I would have preferred a method to fight Sekhmet, even if its just to stun it for a few seconds before it chases you again.

The game really needs sound effects, if nothing else than to give player feedback when being attacked or activating something.

Pretty good game. I like the art style and the music fits the comical nature of the game. The story was quite funny,

It's like Paperboy but with brains.

I think reducing the traffic would be good too, but introduce other hazards, things to get in the way of the brain when youre tossing it, maybe it lands in a bin and the Zombie Mayor gets upside because youre delivering dirty brains.

It would be great to see this expanded upon with many more ideas.

Great work.

Nice take on the theme, and I like how the name accurately represents it.

I liked seeing the shadows chasing you, so you know you're only one step away from death. However, to improve that, as others have suggested, it would be good to see some debris on the road, if you stumble you're almost certainly going to get captured by the horde .

While I liked the music, I'm not sure it fit the type of game, but others may feel different.

I think it would also be good if you could pick up random weapons from the road as you're running, like a baseball bat, and take a swing at zombies running in your direction.

I couldn't get far in this. I tried to follow the first puzzle as best I could, but it's too hard to properly place the candles down. I saw the screen flicker, which seemed to suggest I done it correctly, but the door was still locked.

I like being able to pick up and examine the objects, but I think they tended to have a bit too long of a description n them.

The text on the  UI would be easier to read if it was just white text with a black outline.

I liked the effect of the creepy static entity.

I liked the ladder mechanic too, being able to click to move from one to next, because its all too easy to fall off ladders in games.

I don't want to rate this game yet, I want to see if I it's possible to get past the room with the candles first, or is it a bug?

Thanks very much for your reply, glad you enjoyed it. My artist team mate is very happy to hear your high praise of the visuals!

Yes the controls and player feedback wasn't done well enough by us, and it no doubt made the game more difficult and less enjoyable to play than we were hoping. We endeavour to do better in our completed version.

Great little game. I couldn't complete it though as I kept dying. Is there any indication of your health? I couldn't see anything.

I really like the art style on this, and Gary's happy little face, I guess he's happy because he doesn't have to go to work anymore!

The music is nice and relaxing too, and the sound effects are good as well.

I like how the devils will follow you then stop when you get a certain distance away from them, that's good.

And I also like how the bazooka has 360 rotation, so you can shoot while running away like a coward, which I was doing frequently.

I think I found a bug, you can fire once, then you can't fire again until the net has disappeared, but then after that you can repeatedly fire as quick as you can press the mouse button.

Overall great job, especially as its the first game you've made, great work.

Oh, and the title screen is good too, with Gary's surprised spirit seeing his own body.

Ok no worries.

Once you find and fix it, let me know, and I will give it another go. Thanks.

Maybe I just missed the bar while trying to play 2 players by myself haha.

Thanks very much.

We will be sure to explain the game and mechanics thoroughly in the final release, as the current lack of explanation left many people confused as to what was going on.

Yes it's AMD.

If it helps, I'm on driver version 22.4.1.

22.5.2 is available so I'll download that and retry your game.

I found this game confusing and it got boring very fast, as there is almost no gameplay to it, and what there is, is very repetitive.

The story says to find the oasis, but there is no progression anywhere. Bodies seem to fall down to hell to steal your broken corpse and then it's game over, and the sound effect that plays when they do steal your corpse sounds very bad.

I left the mouse in the middle of the screen and just moved the character left and right while firing.

When I got to the far left and right sides, so I was half off the screen, I could fire but then the bullet disappeared almost straight away.

I got to stage 3, and the screen just got more and more red. Then the falling enemies were slightly different as they swayed left to right, but not nearly enough to keep things interesting, I just left them to steal my corpse at that point.

I also found the music to be irritating.

Very nice aesthetics, and I like the idea of trying to outrun the devil, and the fact you can control where it goes by having it follow you.

However I feel like the theme of the jam could have been expanded upon more, for example trying to outrun the devil isn't a a mechanic that's exclusive to being dead, but it's a fun game nonetheless.

I wasn't sure what was going on with the mouse at first, but you turn it into a ghost don't you, then you can use it in some puzzles.

I like the way you incorporated the description of the controls and the aim of the game into the level at the start, that's always good.

I quite like the music too, it fits the game and is relaxing.

Good work.

It took me a while to understand this game. The instruction says "Press space bar" not "hold space bar" So I was running around pressing space bar trying to catch the spirits as they escaped, being confused as to why I only had a second before they vanished and escaped forever.

After a few goes I realised I had to hold space down when the black bar appeared, and then eventually I made Hades happy.

The music does fit, but I feel it gets a bit annoying after a while.

I do like the old school graphics. Nice work.

Would be fun to see it expanded upon, bigger graveyards, hazards like crows maybe, or other such things to hinder progress.

Nice game. I liked having the controls on screen before the game begins. However, I did solo play it with a keyboard and a gamepad, as I don't have another person currently to play it with.

With some more obstacles and different levels, it would be fun to chase each other around.

I think I ran into a couple of bugs though, it seems one of the balls knocked me back when it was close but didn't hit me, and when you're a spirit you cant pass through the blue platforms.

It would be nice to see a timer or a bar, which shows how much time you have left as a sprit.

Overall good job!

Unfortunately I am unable to run the game.

When I tried the exe I received a blue screen of death, the next time I tried it, it just opened and closed.

Then I tried the Open GL exe, which also just opened and closed.

Maybe it doesn't like my GPU/drivers?

Thanks for the great feedback. Yes we should have added a very simple controls screen, as we ran out of time we had to add it to the game page. In future it's something we will add far earlier on.

We're glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks very much for your feedback.

We will be fixing all bugs and refining the game when the Jam is over, hopefully it will all make sense then and be a lot easier to control.

Thanks for your great feedback, it's much appreciated.

Yes we ran out of time to further refine the games, and as you said, there isn't much player feedback.

The candles at the top right are meant to represent remaining enemies, but I think they were buggy too.

We will be expanding the game and refining everything and fixing all bugs, after the Jam is finished. so keep an eye out for the finished build :)

Thanks very much, I'll look into it.

Thanks very much for your  constructive feedback.

Once the jam is over we do plan to refine the game and complete it, and can address the problems you mentioned. But there are some bugs you had that I've not encountered, can I have some more feedback please?

1. Do you remember what you were doing before the game crashed? Or did it just appear random?

2. When the game over appears the spirit should die, were you still able to see the spirit? Or were you able to move the camera and the spirit wasn't visible?

Thanks again for playing.

Thanks, I thought I tried Esc, maybe I had lost focus on the window when I did, but yes it works.

Great work.

Thanks for your reply.

I did have another problem, but it's also down to the corpse tossing. It's the level where you have to go up between 2 walls with spikes on left and right. The idea is to kill yourself at the top, then go back up there and toss the corpse down to the button on the floor, but the corpse would often get stuck on the wall spikes and I couldn't get it off.

Either way, overall the mechanics are still great, and using the corpse to platform off is a great idea.

An enjoyable game at the start, however once you have gobbled up enough to become larger than stars, the other black holes will begin disappearing before they reach the centre of the screen, and are therefore no longer a threat to you.

However it was fun and relaxing to play, and I did like seeing my black hole get bigger and bigger, especially at the start when gobbling up all of the dust and asteroids.

I carried on until my score reached 16,707. At that point the planets were so spaced out that it took too long to find, and I suspect the game will never end anyway.

I do like your idea on the theme though, good work.

Also I found myself stuck on the credits screen before starting the game, maybe it's just me but I couldn't find a way off it.

Hello,

I have downloaded your game, however I am unable to run it. Please advise.
