Love the art, death animation is really cool, music was fine, only thing I had problem with is controlling my jump and hitboxes. None the less great work!

The art was nice on this game. The concept was interesting. I think you may have over used the spikes and I had an issue where you could jump to get off the spikes if you ran to the top of the spike. That made it had for me to get out of the spike pits. Then when you died in these pits it respawned you in the spikes. This was a feel bad for me. I would think about making sure you don't respawn on a hazard block. I felt like my attack was a bit slow, I would could hit then kill the squirrel. There are several strong elements to your game, so keep at it.
Thanks so much for the feedback! This was our first game jam and our first time working together on a project so we were just happy to get it playable in time for submission. I definitely had some bigger dreams for the game that would have balanced the content load a bit and eased our level design process that we just didn't have the time to implement. Thanks again!
Fun game, the acorn respawn was very creative, the end music had distinct Terraria vibes :) Please rate our game if you would like :) https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-jam-2022/rate/1554224#post-5960926
Loved it! Really liked the animation of the tree spawning a new acorn. The squirrels remind me of guys in mascot costumes. Great job!
I absolutely love the animation that plays when the player dies and creates a tree to be reborn from. I was so surprised when I saw it! And I really appreciate how dying doesn't send you back. Instead, you respawn in the same location. Also noticed that parallax background! Nice work ^-^
really cute game and one of the only platformer-type ones I actually made it to the end of! I almost got stuck on one jump where you had to squeeze in that tight spot before getting to the beach environment, but ultimately made it :)
Nicely put together, not perfect in areas already mentioned. But good job on getting beginning to end :)
I thought the art was great. I see people were talking about the teleportation. I don't know if it was a glitch but at one point the spikes just didn't kill anymore. But I really liked the animation when you die. You sprout again. I thought that was fun
I love the art, especially how the acorn respawns. Very beautiful. Unfortunately there seems to be some bugs that make the character teleport around too much. The concept is great. Nice attempt.
Great animation and overall feel. Echoing on the others I was teleporting around and didnt quite understand why? But over all a very great submission!
I think its a great idea and love the art but I had a lot of trouble with the movement mechanics. I felt like I was teleporting around a lot and I wasn't sure why.
I do like the concept. Some guidance on what the pickups do would be helpful, and the movement is a bit...like a squirrel on red bull. lol
Very cute!
Had the same sort of issues as MarciFul commented but with more time and polish I could see this being a very fun platformer/metroidvania type with a powerful uplifting story behind it!
Great work!
I conquered death and became the mighty oak! Really nice game great art, animations and mechanics. Although dying was very disorientating and sometimes I became unkillable which was strange and maybe I missed it but I didn't understand some objects I could maybe collect? also a volume slider would be great.
Fantastic work though keep it up!
