Simple and fun to play. I was pretty bad at it but I like how you can use different strategies, like getting the tanks to shoot each other or getting them stuck in the fence. I also thought it was a really nice touch to include the destructible environment. I was surprised when I saw the first barrier break down and it made the game feel more exciting.

Always like a good tank game.  Was a little frustrating that the enemy tanks never missed except to hit an obstacle.  Hiding in the top right meant the links from itch.io were intruding on the game play.  Id maybe suggest a little random additional angles to your enemies shots to give the player a little chance to live a longer.  Some tanks got stuck and wasnt until I went past were they able to continue

Hey, thanks for the feedback. The itch links overlaying the game is either a browser issue (I don't have that issue in Chrome at least) or you have scrolled down. Try scrolling up in the browser window. The enemy tanks accuracy is a balancing element, since they can get stuck on objects when they run into each other. Fun fact, they can also shoot and damage each other. And, if you are far enough away and moving, they can miss you. There are a lot of strategic options built in. I wanted to make more maps to expand on the strategy element of gameplay, but just ran out of time. I may come back to this project in the future and build it out into a full game with more maps, public scoreboard, and alternate controls.

Nice game, it was cool chatting with you on Discord 😎

This is a fun game! I think it's a bit too difficult though, but I also think that I needed to get more accustomed to the controls. I'm never good at driving around tanks in video games since the turret is on a swivel and not always pointing the direction that you're driving in. This is some great work though and I think with some tweaking it can be even better! Good job!

That was a lot of tanks.

I think the range and turn rate on the tanks can be a little tough to work with, but it really pushed me to exploit the mechanics as much as I could to get damage without taking it. There’s no shortage of obstacles to take advantage of and the only thing stopping me from perfectly taking down tank after tank is the fact that they quickly get so overwhelming in number.

Overall, this is a neat concept executed well, with a consistent level of quality across the board. Even ignoring that it’s a solo effort, this is commendable. Great work!

Nice game! Good approach to the theme! The enemies have a good aiming huh?! Hard, but fun to play! Smooth controls and nice graphics! Congrats!

This game was really fun! The concept fits perfecly with the theme, it's entretaining and I really like the replayability. Great work there! \(^_^)/

Great game! The controls were smooth and very well done for this style. Great submission!

Nice game! I like that the goal (destroy!) is ultimately going to be your end (x2). I personally found the controls a bit difficult to get used to (though I only play for a few minutes, I'm sure I'd get better at it with more time). My feeling is that WASD moving you directly in the 4 directions might have been a bit easier. Or maybe I'm just lazy. ;) I also liked the consistency (music, visuals, sfx all fit very nicely together).

Yes, the controls do have a learning curve. Hmmm....perhaps I could implement a setting that allows switching control types? I haven't actually done settings for a game yet so that gives me something to look into.

This is a really good tank game. I like it a lot. The tank felt like a tank. It is surprisingly difficult. The controls feel real good and tight. Well made and fun! Good Job on the game.

This game was awesome, the controls felt pretty tight and it felt like a nice fresh take on a classic game style. The game is really fun! Great Work!

Cute little game you have there! I really loved the kind of feedback you gave the player as in the small thing on the tank turning green when one can shoot! I would have loved more powerups around! Give us the dopamine :D

Nice entry! Cool game mechanics! Good programming job!

Love the retro theme!   Reminds me of the old "Tank Wars" style tank games.

Short sweet and to the point, a great score attack/arcade game. Good graphics, very simple premise, great sfx/music.

Personally had some troubles with controls but they are tank controls and I'm not a tank driver so that might be on me :D

Solid entry.

Tanks! I like tanks, I bet there are pugs driving those things. :) The mechanics feel good, I like that the turret has it's own speed, something I should have done as well. Got 5 tanks on my first run and 8 on my second.

A fun little game!  Looks good, sounds good and plays well. :)

Good game! I found it a little difficult to tell forward and backwards apart even with your health bar in the front, but I think I just need to practice a little more. I think having the tanks double each time like you did is a good way to scale the difficulty, and fits the theme well!

Developer(+1)

I implemented what seemed to be pretty standard tank controls, but they do take some getting used to. Btw, the health bar is at the rear of the tank, along with that little green light that goes off when the tank is "reloading".

The barriers being destructible caught me off guard haha, I may or may not have been spawncamping the crate whilst hiding behind barriers :D

2nd entry I come across that "multiplies" the enemy when you kill it - considering the goal is to reach the highest score.. The only strategy is to kill enemies and deal with the consequences.

It may very well be completely intended, but I think a goal that is not in direct conflict with the mechanics of the game would serve nicely. Something along the lines of "reach point B" or "Gather as many crates as possible", while keeping the multiply mechanics in place.

In any case, thanks for your submission and thank you for the feedback on our game!

Developer

The goal is simply to take out as many enemy tanks as you can before they kill you. The crates drop health and fire rate upgrades randomly to help you last longer.
