This is a very intense and interesting game. I like the character art and the lore in particular. I was pleasantly surprised by the gameplay, I think its really interesting. It took some time for me to get used to it, but once I did I had a lot of fun! This game definitely has potential, great work!
Really liking the character art and glitch effects at low health. Levels are pretty tough. I had to keep moving or get swarmed immediately. The premise and storytelling is interesting. Would be interested seeing what is next because the game ends on a cliffhanger.
I like the ida and the fact that the game is a complete package (with tutorial, options and all that). From the graphics standpoint it was both nice (as some models were) but also lacking polish. The ui for example could have been much nicer with not that much work. Also the sound sounded like it is bugging out sometime, not sure if it was intended or not.
Gave me some matrix vibes had lots of fun trying all the different quests.
I love the character design, sound design, and music!
The game started to get pretty choppy for me when I had a lot of enemies on-screen... and I have a pretty beefy rig, so IDK what was up there.
There was no direction... I mean I know I'm supposed to find the exit portal but everything was just an identical grey area.
Also, I really wish run was the same button as spell casting, as opposed to spell cancelling, because as it stands you can't really run around while attacking. A couple spells were hard to cast, like the life drain spell.
Still, I see a lot of potential here!
Finally got around playing this game. I love the character design and the ability system you have there. I spent 10 minutes on one level but I could not find the exit portal, some hint or direction would definitely help. The map is a little empty but this is to be expected for such a grand vision and a short deadline! Would love to see a more polished version in the future!
Good stuff! Dashing through them was really fun. It took a second but then I realised the movement is just like in League of Legends. I especially liked the idea of learning new skills but having to forget old ones in return.
I really wish the controls would be a bit better because this does look like a really fun action packed experience. I just could not manage to kill all enemies so better keep running, haha.
Nice character design and art. I just run around without stopping, else I get killed. Maybe need to explore other playstyles, but I am too afraid to die :)
One rule seems to exist in a virtual world of Guns, Guard dogs, and Grids: Never. Stop. Running. In this Build of Metaverse: Emotion is a Bug, it doesn't appear that love is allowed or has room to exist in this reality. For this reason our erstwhile protagonist must go on a sprinting spree that would put Usain bolt to shame in its speed and surely many marathon runners to the same for its length of running as quickly. From the beginning you are tasked with escaping the system, (which you must go through about 4 levels, testing your knowledge of the game), and starting a new life without presumably, where you can foster emotion. Largely, to this sprinting end, I found that the ability that did the most damage also had a relatively short cool down and could work almost while running as you hammered it home: the AOE burst marked to the "E" key on the computer. The sound design was very cool, but for a game based on the plight of emotion I would have loved to see more of the protagonist, even if in small glimpses throughout the short journey. Some pictures or dialogue, but truthfully I did have fun strategically dodging bullets as I move constantly through the levels like a bullet train of my own making.
Thanks for the long and detailed write up! I wanted to have more storytelling, but the complexity of the game mechanics itself took a toll, so unfortunately we downscoped and cut out a lot of storytelling. There's even voice lines from voice actors! But they will be implemented in a later update. Also, much of the map art needs a rework. I am not done with this project, and I want to continue with it! :D
I love the art assets used! Love how as the player gets damaged, the corruption spreads. Great job on the character design.
