The graphics are very nice(except the sword), killing the enemies felt very satisfying. I wasn't really sure how it was relevant to the theme but still nice game.

The character design looks really nice. You have put a lot of effort on modeling and visual effect. All graphics are very satisfy except the floating sword LOL

Great game! Love the color palette! It played well. I would have liked to have heard some audio and a little more story setup. But overall this was very nice. I had fun playing it. Thanks!

I'd love to get your feedback on my game. :)

Great entry for your first game jam! I love the assets, and thought that the visuals were quite polished. Improving the animations for your player attacks would be good. Also improving the clarity of what the items do would be good. Some music and more responsive sound effects would also be of benefit (a more appropriate damage sound effect would be great). Congrats on finishing the jam, and looking forward to what you do in future competitions!

Nice job! At some point i lost all the hearths but didn't die, dont know if maybe i needed to be hit one more time or its just a bug.

Art is cool. Animations are bad.  No music, but some simple sound effects, and not for anything. I did not understand why I should have or not get the items along my journey. The battle controls are very bad because of the character controls & the sword's animation. You should have put more axis, like the diagonal directions, cuz the enemies can do it. The way you managed the theme here is way too easy.

I didn't even know that I was able to sprint before actually trying the game again, just put max speed when we loot the boots for example.

The miniature of the game looks promising, but when you actually try it, it is super empty and suffer from what I've said previously.

Best of luck!

Interesting concept but fell short in execution in my opinion.

I did one run of this. Had to consult the instructions on how to pick up things on your desc page, because the game doesn't tell you what to do. The problem is further compounded by the fact that your icons indicate you ALREADY have the gear. For instance, the icon for the key in the bottom left that rotates indicates to me I already have the key. So when I went to the genie that has the key, I didn't pick it up on contact and did pick it up while pressing space. I then assumed, I already have the key.

Your game generally looks quite pretty, but feels very unfinished. I have a detailed character, but he has no attack animation. That led me to think you may have more bugs in the game than you did. See above.

Controls are fine, if unclear. The sprinting has an unnecessary button dedicated to it. As you have no stamina, what's the point of its existence other than tiring my pinky?

The combat is unrefined. I killed every chomp enemy by spamming my click. The boss on the other hand has much more HP and no knockback, so I beat it by running around in circles and having my tip of the sword as it animates hit it. I managed to kill it with 1 heart left. But it was not a satisfying fight. Too repetitive and high risk. Also, it's almost impossible to predict when the boss will hit you due to feedback being poor and colliders being unclear.

The best part for me was the art.

The ending justified the theme somewhat, but, it seems like a gimmick to me.

This is some solid feedback dude!
Yeah I know all of these problems exist. But in the end I said "eh whatever" it'll be fine it's my first  jam I won't get far.
I did make an attack animation but it didn't really look that good so I dropped it :S
You can't even die in the game because I never got to implement it.
I didn't even dedicate a minute to polish.
Thanks for the feedback man!

Really cool game! The art was very nice!

Nice art and partical effects. However, I didn't die when my health reached zero and it was a bit difficult to fight the black enemies. The ending was pretty funny though.

I love the end!

Really cool game. I am impressed that is your first game jam. Very good job. Will check out your next game for sure. That ending like a slap in the face...I like it :) hehe

Developer

Thanks for the nice words!

I really liked it, but there should be sounds other than the sound effect

It was quite short but sweat, I liked the genies hmmm hmmm's, but I think i encountered a game breaking bug, if you get the heart and it takes away a heart when you have one heart, you cant die, I am not 100% sure if that is intentional, but yea

Developer

Well... you can't die at all actually :S

Nice game.

I really like the overall style.

I couldn't beat the boss, though :(

Anyways, congrats on making it! If you have some time, I'd love if you checked out my game! ;)
