In what way does your game fit the theme?
The game is about (re:)wind and also you can wind and rewind the kite.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code was written by me.
Most assets were made by me. The rest was free to use.

Loved the aesthetic direction!
Menu transitions were a bit long though. Would've been nice if they were quicker as to not slow the flow. The kite mechanic was pretty unique and makes for a great endless runner! Though, I couldn't jump at times and was confused as to why.
But overall, Awesome turn out!
I love the graphics, it reminded me of limbo but the rainy atmosphere is quite nice and calming, the background was really nice to look at, and the music is really good to just enjoy in itself, the game play is simple but it was still fun and somehow relaxing to play, the interpretation for the concept is also pretty neat, i like the scene transitions and the intro was charming, GOOD JOB!
Liked the rain atmosphere a lot, but the kite was kind of hard to control at the same time with the player, that thing that gets after you seems a bit extra for me, I think the kite and birds were enough. Other than that the game the feeling of the game is very nice.
I find the gameplay and the interpretation of the theme to be quite interesting, especially the fact you're controlling an invincible character (and trying to move and not stay behind the screen scroll) while simultaneously trying to protect the kite, over which you have very limited control. Well done.
I really like that kite mechanic and it's a interesting way to interpretate the theme!Well done!
*maybe you would also like to play my submission*
Interesting idea to control things that effect the object you’re trying to protect rather than the object itself. Solid theme, nice work!
First off, the title is really creative, would've never thought of email replies and how they add a re: to the subject. The art and music work great together and the calming aesthetic is well executed. The dual avoiding of obstacles by the kid and the birds by the kite makes for nicely challenging gameplay as well. Overall, solid work!
Love the game, the music fits the game so well, the graphics are amazing and the controls smooth. I really love this style of game art, I am really impressed with how great the game looks
I love the take on the theme with the wind and the kite, not at all because the game I made also uses wind and a kite, but they are so very different despite the fact that they share that
Great job, only issue I had was getting stuck behind the large wheels but that's due to my skill at jumping.
Probably the best game I've played so far out of this game jam.
The art and music is beautiful. You took an original take on the theme, without it just being about going back in time, and it looks really polished for only being made in one week.
I'm definitely going to try hard until the next jam to be able to submit something cool as this in one week.
I really liked the play on words. It made me click on your game. I only could not figure out how to control the kite more. I could only control the little kid. It would be more challenging if you had to control the kite as well :)
Good job!
Thank you!
You can control the length of the kite's line with keys I and K. Moving the boy of course also indirectly controls the kite. Also you can keep track of wind strength by looking at it's UI or the rain and adjust the line accordingly (The longer the line, the more the stronger the wind will propell your kite). No other control beside that. It's a kite after all :)
I was hoping someone would have the courage to go with a pun on "wind." I first wanted to do a tornado game, but lost my nerve. This game was enjoyable and quite challenging. Paying attention to two aspects--the kid and the kite--made for some exciting moments. I really like the mood of this piece. I found myself wanting to know more about the story from the opening cutscene. If you continue to develop this game, I would hope for a continuation of that mysterious email (or is it in there and I just didn't get far enough?) If you are looking for other suggestions, the obvious one is to have the kite string actually attach to the hand, so there is no gap in the silhouette. That's probably a challenge with the physics and the line renderer, but I really think that extra polish would be worth it if you are going to continue this game's development. Great work!
Thank you very much for the kind words. I was initially planning on making multiple levels with different color palettes, different obstacles and a different event at the end. This of course was way out of scope. I definetly wanted to have a cutscene of some sorts at a certain distance that would add to the story and unlock endless mode. I still didn't have the time for that and went with just endless mode.
It would be something on top of the priority list if i were to continue working on the game.
