How does the game fit the theme?
The theme shows up as a constant risk/reward loop in multiple ways. The more loot you pick up, the stronger you can become through upgrades. However, with more loot the slower you become and the more likely to die. At a story level, you must risk your own life to save your pup. You can only save him by continually going into the dungeon to grow stronger, and eventually making it to the end of the dungeon, picking up a health potion, and returning back to the base alive!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Unity game engine was used to make the game. Music, sound effects, and fonts were not made by us either and licensed via Envato.

Wow the art looks extremely good and the entire game is very polished! Had to get used to the weight mechanic for a bit (wanted to keep everything) but made a lot more sense after i figured that out
A super polished and fun experience! It's worth mentioning that the weight mechanic didn't feel clunky at all, as some games struggle to get it right. The gameplay loop is simple, yet addictive and the upgrades are meaningful, making you want to go just a tiny bit further to be able to afford the next one. Also the art is ultra cute! :0
Awesome game. Felt super polished and fun. Our game has a similar weight mechanic so it was great to see how other people implements a similar idea!
I really liked it! Great visuals, I liked the rhythm and the collectibles that are attracted to us. Only downside is that we can't pet the dog 😤 I kept being too greedy for my own good, this was really fun to play! Great job
Fun game with great visuals! I feel like it is a bit too hard and it would be nice to have some way of defending yourself.
Also I think the upgrades might be a bit too expensive?
i really like the idea! only nitpick i have is the diamonds sometimes are too slow to collect
Very enjoyable. I did not make it to the end as i kept being too greedy for my own good. Is there a way to pick the bag back up if you drop it accidentally?
Thanks for trying! Unfortunately no, a dropped bag is an immoveable new object. I think maybe having drop bag be a long press would be a good change to avoid any accidental drops!
This is really good! The game itself is quite polished, the graphics are nice and cute, I think the balancing is also quite on point too (though I died quite a few times due to greediness, but that's the point of the game innit). This is probably what I am imagining risk and reward is all about, not some random casino thing, but I digress.
A little nitpick of mine is that the runback is a bit long and feels like it's padding the game quite a bit. Especially if this is the fourth run of the day (due to greediness again) that felt too repetitive in my opinion. Also the wizard teleports directly at your face, leaving you no time to react felt a bit unfair too.
Anyway with all that said, this is still quite a solid game. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback and appreciation of our theme implementation. I think if we could tweak it once more for the submission, we would cut the length in half (currently 4 chunks per biome, down to 2 would be definitely fine) and look to add more variety in between runs to lose the repetitive nature of it. And yes, I agree wizard is a problem lol. When I play i normally run next to it, pause, and wait for it to spawn around me but if you run right past it, high chance it spawns in front of you. If i keep the wizard, i was thinking of adding a visual effect .5 to 1 seconds before he would spawn there and some visual effect on the wizard itself to make it more fair.
Thanks for playing!
Really neat idea! Was really fun to play and I really had to make the decision of if I wanted to carry more loot or not!
Had a fun time playing, and the visual polish was absolutely insane. Love how you added to the risk/reward theme in multiple ways, in what loot you pick up, whether or not you drop it (absolutely not I am RISKING IT) and in the game's story. Great job!
Thanks for the kind words! We were very excited to see you saw the different ways we tried to incorporate the theme. 😄 thanks for playing and hope you saved your pup!
Really cool concept and take on the theme! Really like the art style and overall vibe of the game. I do feel like I got really slow after picking up just 2 gems, which made getting to the end almost impossible. I still had fun trying though! Awesome job :)
very interesting, sounds like a bug if only 2 loot made you super slow! there was a drop all loot button but i should have made it more clear.. :( thanks for playing!
Nice job incorporating the risk theme! I think the way things scale was a little confusing (bag size controls speed more than speed does) and the dash was a fake ability, but the training/kiting gameplay was fun and the minigame of avoiding stinky loot for better loot was interesting! I think the horizontal length was a bit long, it made the trek back feel like a bit of a drag. Overall, pretty solid! I enjoyed! Nice job :)
I definitely see what you mean with the horizontal being too long. thanks for the feedback! wdym by dash was a fake ability.? like as in if you were too heavy and slowed down, the dash is much less impactful due to this? i wanted to make sure the player felt pain when encumbered and could just continue onwards dashing as normal, but maybe i went to far! thanks!
The visuals are nice and I liked the mechanic of being slower the more you carry!
like the visual !! nice game !
The visual effects are very good!
Poor puppy :(
This was really fun! Love the art too. Great job!
I really enjoyed the visual part of that game!
I wanted so hard to save my dog but didn’t manage to :( I love the game though - great idea for the mechanic that fits the theme so well. Great job! :)
I couldn't save my dog :'( But nice gameplay loop, the weigth and the push-your-luck mechanic was nicely integreted :)
