The game has a really nice concept! Having to choose to continue and risk the cookies is super good! The game needs invul frames for the character ater getting hit to avoid being one shot by 2 zombies but its a detail, the ideas here are really nice.

The game is fun, at times too hard especially the zombie spawning, still well done!

When I was playing it, I went throught the wall haha.

I really love zombie-themed games, and also I like the game. This is enjoyable. Good job! :D

it looks good and so but the enemys are way too fast and able to walk through walls

Feels good to play! I definitely agree that the zombie spawns feel unfair, especially when I'm near the edges of the map. I was getting overwhelmed with zombies a lot as well, so maybe some down time between waves would make it feel a little more fair. I did like that it was difficult, but I feel it could be better if the dials were turned back a bit, as I pretty much never risked going to another floor since I got overwhelmed so much and lost so much health.

Other than the balancing, the game is really well polished and feels really good, so great job!

You should remove the donation prompt, it's a little off-putting for a game jam game.

I found it very unfair the zombies could come through walls at me; I could barely move, let alone solve the maze. And then it cost 100 cookies to get an upgrade? That's way too expensive for me, I died before even reaching 50 (after zombies pushed me into a wall rendering me immobile).

Maybe I just suck, but it seemed to difficult.

The shooting felt really nice and it was fun to kill zombies, so I reckon with some difficulty tweaks this would be really nice. I so wanted to try that SMG too...

A very smooth top-down shooting game. I love the random maze generation. The shooting control feels nice. I played a couple rounds and had quite a lot of fun. I think it would be even better if the enemies also follow the maze route rather than fly across the walls. It will put the maze into better use and introduce more strategy to the game. But still, awesome work!

Hey, really like the style of your game, as others already said the visuals and sounds are nice - I think it just gets a little annoying when shooting all the time ^^
Is the spawnrate randomly set? Because sometimes it felt undoable in the first stage - especially with the pistol - and then in stage 4 I had the same spawnrate as in stage 2. I think having the difficulty lower at the start would help a little getting into it. Other then that very nice entry!

Lovely game, the ui and visuals are nice, the mechanics are smooth and it feels good to play, for 1 person this is extremely underrated!

Hello! Your game has a really nice UI and the visuals are great overall. I also enjoyed the movement and shooting mechanics - they felt fun to use. The main issue I ran into was that the zombies could pass through walls, while my bullets couldn’t. At one point, there were so many zombies that they pushed me into a wall and I couldn’t move anymore. With a bit of polishing and fixing those bugs, I think the game would become much more enjoyable!

Having to click so much to get past the point where you’re only using the pistol was awful. I bought the SMG over the Rifle because it was the one that advertised being automatic, but they both are… making the game significantly better. But the enemies spawn too quickly, are too fast, too dense, and sponge too much hp from even the advanced weapons that the whole thing is pretty overwhelming but not necessarily in a fun way. Maybe if the enemies were also affected by collision it’d be better? I think the fact that actually picking up the cookies is such a huge risk actually does feel pretty on theme. I liked that the guns shot little mini cookies instead of bullets.

I think there’s some solid ideas and instincts here, though the issues are pretty rough atm. Not a bad effort, this isn’t far from being great!

I like the idea of having to navigate a maze while also shooting a horde of zombies. It makes for a good challenge, and the more you play, the better you get at it.

Here are a few ideas to potentially improve the game:

  1. Having to repeatedly click the mouse made my hand hurt quickly. I think you should consider having auto shooting for all weapons (so you only have to aim the mouse but not click), similar to Vampire Survivors.
  2. There is at least one level where you are forced to walk past an enemy spawning point. If you are unlucky with the timing, this can be a death trap, and there is nothing you can do about it. That is rather frustrating and feels unfair. Maybe have more spawning point around the map, and every few seconds spawn an enemy from a random point, but never one that is within a certain range of the player.
  3. The game doesn't scale visually, so if I maximize the window, I can see the entire map, which I assume is unintended because it makes it a lot easier to navigate the maze and see where enemies are coming from.
  4. On one of the maps, you can get outside of it (see screenshot below). Besides that, the enemies can also push you through walls and outside the map.

But in summary, the game mechanic is solid, the graphics look nice. And with a few tweaks, it could be even better.

Really cool game!

A lot of people have been saying how difficult this game is, and it's mainly because of a lack of a very important game mechanic, which is invincibility frames. Currently, the zombies damage you every frame that they attack, which causes a lot of problems, the first of which is knocking you into a wall and basically making you stuck. I am not sure how you check collision for the player, but a pretty good solution is to just take no knockback against a direction when your hitbox is touching a wall.

Do you know Sans🩻  from Undertale? He's a pretty well-known character, and his boss fight is infamous for being extremely hard. There are a couple gimmicks he has that makes him this hard, one of which is Karma💜 poisoning, which is not relevant here, and the second is that he ignores your i-frames, which means he damages you every frame, which means he kills you in seconds if you're touching one of his attacks. Now, this guy is meant to be the hardest boss in a rather difficult game, and every other enemy in the game follows the i-frame rules, being only able to damage you only once every 30 frames(with some exceptions).

Now contrast this with your game, where the zombies damage you every frame, killing you in seconds. Sure, they die from a few bullets, but they can also ignore walls, and come from behind you, and instantly kill you when you're in a dead end. Just 25 frames of invincibility (of course buffing the zombies to go with it) can significantly improve the game, and will make it way fairer. Of course this is just a suggestion, as in the timeframe we don't really think about these stuff.

The gameplay is quite fun regardless and the Riskuit🍪 mechanic is pretty innovative! I like roguelite gameplay, and this game implements it decently, making me want to play more. I do have skill issue tho, and couldn't make it very far.

Overall, a pretty good game! Definitely deserves more ratings. Good job.👍

Thank you very much.

Yeah, as you mentioned multiple people have said the game's difficult.

After the jam, I plan on implementing various difficulties which will modify the number of spawners, zombie health etc. I'll be adjusting the prices for the other weapons too.

I hadn't thought much about invincibility frames though and think that's a good idea.

I'll look to implement the feedback gained from the jam relatively soon :)

I had a fun time with this one! :D The controls felt smooth, and the overall style of the game really worked well the art and sound was fine and came together nicely and gave it a cool vibe without anything feeling out of place. The only two things that stood out for me were that zombies ignoring walls made the maze extra tough, and the upgrades felt a little pricey, so I didn’t get to try them as often as I’d like. Aside from that, it’s a strong and enjoyable entry. Great work for a Jam Entry :D

Great game, although it is very difficult. The first few tries, I died almost immediately. I soon learned that the best strategy for long-term survival was just to stay still and constantly shoot at the zombies, which I'm sure was not your intent.  I think the reason for the difficulty might be in part due to the fact that you are in a maze. If you try to navigate the maze, there's a pretty good chance you'll run into a dead end, which is basically a death sentence with how fast and frequent the zombies are. Also, the fact that the zombies are unaffected by the walls. I think this could be fixed by adding some pathfinding to the zombies. Other than that, the art and sound effects were good, and I think this could become a pretty fun game!

I appreciate this was a game I could pick right up & play - the controls are dual stick shooter style, and the layout of the levels is very straightforward mazes. The risk mechanic is a thoughtful approach to the jam challenge. I would have enjoyed a bit more variety, but overall, it was fun blowing off some steam with Crumbs of Glory. Cheers!

Wow great job this game is really fun, if the monsters hit into you and your by a wall you get stuck in it just so you know, Keep up the good work😃👍

Thanks :D I'll check out your game now

The game is interesting and have super cool premise, I like the sound effects and it is very smooth.

I have a skill issue though, the enemies are very frequent making it very difficult for me to progress. I see there are upgrades at 100 biscuits to change weapon which is quite a lot. I feel like I die very fast and cannot progress :(

The one time I made it I risked it but next stage is even harder. Don't know if the maps are handcrafted but the angles are always 90 degrees and zombies mostly come from the front? but when I rush they also come from the back. So I just stood there shooting the same 6 spawns until I went ahead and got eaten up. Let me know if I am doing anything wrong

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.

The difficulty seemed alright for me but I did wonder if other people would think the same.

After the jam, I'll adjust the balancing of enemy health and price required for new weapons :)
