great game!

It doesn't make any sense. But very interesting, but not clear )

Developer

Can you explain what exactly made you confused? Would love to take it as feedback!
The things we know aren't clear enough right now are the wrath meter and the curses - we made them basically last second due to a drastic change in design, and didn't quite get to communicate them properly to the player. Missing some polish there.

Is there anything else that didn't make sense to you?

Submitted(+1)

Yes, it was the anger and cursing scale that confused me.

Developer(+1)

Ah, got it! Then yeah, we're sadly aware of that - just lacked some time to add proper polish.

Thanks for the feedback!

Great game! Loved it a lot, keep it up!

The game looks great. All the objects match, very atmospheric. /// beautiful. For some reason it seemed to me that this house is endless ahahaha

Developer (1 edit)

With 100 rooms (10x10!) it might as well be endless, haha

Thank you for the feedback, glad you liked it! :D

Really nice game, i’m scared now

Submitted(+1)

What a great game to make in a week. It's pretty scary, I wouldn't consider it a jump scare but when some graves appered I was shook! I loved the procedural generation even though it was really hard to find the next-level room and the entrance (I did a horrible death, at least I got the key!)

Excellent work everyone

Developer

Ayyyy, thanks again man! Really happy you liked it :D

I couldn't notice it by the screenshots, but the game looks graphically very nice and it's smooth. I get scared so easily so I was frightened af to even go out the first room lol.  Music is a little bit too chill (I would suggest using some ambience songs and random SFX to make exploring more frightening) . The mechanic of staying warm and not starve is interesting, even though I'm not sure what killed me at a certain point, regardless, good job :)

I wonder how you felt after posting the submission 12 seconds before the deadline lmao

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much for the feedback & kind words! :D

The health disappearance happened to other people too 😅 It's not a bug - we just didn't have time to properly animate, add some juice, when you get a curse - so it's very easy to just ignore them completely. The thing that took away your health was the poison curse - but if you don't look at the icon on the bottom left, you would never know that, haha. Wish we could add a LITTLE more to it, but we were in a pretty big rush, as you've noticed with the 12 seconds 😂

It was absolutely insane! I was waiting for Unity to finish building and it just REFUSED to do so because it had to compile a bunch of new shaders and stuff. Ended up submitting an empty page right before it closed and uploading the game later 😂 Took more than 30 minutes to build!

Definitely learned my lesson for future jams, haha.

Lmaoo, as you can see I submitted 9 minutes before the deadline, and I thought I was late haha

Great game! I love the overall visual UI and assets; it looks really polished to begin with! :D
The game concept is really fit with the theme. How there are curses and twists all around the corner waiting for the player to uncover in a form of items, valuables, and treasures! and the randomly generated mansion every time the player replays it really adding the replayability into the game! awesome features!
The UI is really nice with a touch of grunge and mystery-esque aesthetic! Well done!
One thing maybe you guys can put is item's name whenever the player hover over the item they about to pick, and also item's name above quickslot/inventory when the player hold it would also be a nice informative feature.
I don't really have much to say since the game itself looks nice and I didn't find any issue regarding the controls or anything.
Great job! keep it up! :D

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words and detailed feedback! :D

Yup, will definitely add that in future iterations of the project - just didn't quite get to it in time 😅

Glad you liked it though :)

Nice game! I did get lost so I wasn't able to make it back to the locked door after I got the key, before I died. But everything else was great! I hear that 3D procedural generation is pretty hard, so good job with that!

Nice visuals and audio design. It was fun to run around the mansion, but it was easy to get lost.
Near the end, I was also really close to death, despite not being cold or hungry and without any other
apparent reason. Otherwise, well done!

Developer(+1)

Yup, yup -  sadly the "wrath" meter and the curses were last-minute additions due to a drastic change of design right at the end of the jam - we didn't quite get to add some juice to it, so you don't really notice getting some curses if you don't know what's happening (like Poison, which is what took down your health - you can get it after the meter fills up, or when being in the same room as the tombstones). The only indication is the curse symbol that shows up on the left 😅

Mentioned this in another comment, but we see this as a tech demo more than anything else - showcasing the core idea of a much bigger game we envision and plan on continuing to make :D

Thanks for the kind words and detailed feedback! Appreciate it :)

Wow, it's very nice game! You've managed to do a lot. The visual is definitely worthy of 5 stars.

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, beautiful graphics and UIs , well done :)

I loved the look and aesthetics of the game. I was really impressed with the design of the UI and how well it fits with the gameplay. I was a little confused on the demon meter, and it felt like my health would start going down without me knowing why. I do like the base concept, though, and it was fun trying to keep my hunger and temperature bars up! Overall a very enjoyable experience, good job!

Yooo, thank you for checking our game out!

And yeah, sadly the "wrath" meter and the curses were last-minute additions due to a drastic change of design right at the end of the jam - we didn't quite get to add some juice to it, so you don't really notice getting some curses if you don't know what's happening (like Poison, which is what took down your health - you can get it after the meter fills up, or when being in the same room as the tombstones).

Oh, that makes sense now. I'm glad you're continuing development, it was a fun experience! I look forward to the finished project!

I liked the idea of trying loot a house, but every attempt making it harder. I do wish there was some more variety in the gameplay. I'm not really sure how I won. Try as I might, I never saw any monsters, just a couple graves coming out of the ground. I wandered for a while looking for the key once the shadow meter filled, but never found it. After a bit, the key was just in my inventory. I kinda wish there were loot items that would give you different endings, but required you to have them in your inventory using up valuable space. Game was simple, but the concept was good.

Developer

Thank you very much for the detailed comment!

Yeah, we are definitely missing some critical player feedback - the end was a little rushed as we had a big change in design last minute, haha - so we opted to just explain it a little in the page and guide. The key is given to you when the meter goes back to 0, "when the ghost calms back down" after it reaches max.

The graves are also sadly the only enemy we managed to get in - wanted to add more, as well as multiple floors, more items, combat - but yeah, didn't quite get to it!

We see this as a tech demo more than anything else - showcasing the core idea of a much bigger game we envision and plan on continuing to make :D

Intense stuff, I really liked the interior, managing warmth and hunger keeps you on edge!

Submitted(+2)

Quite a nice one

Submitted(+2)

A very intense and scary experience! Visual and audio are well done!

Submitted(+2)

Great job, guys! Honestly, scary mansion haha

I’m not entirely sure why I died and what killed me, but it was an intense experience none-the-less!
