How does the game fit the theme?
Once an ingredient goes on the sandwich you can't remove it, furthermore with just one failed order the game ends.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The music and sound effects were both sourced from royalty free websites credited in the description.

A really polished job sim game.
Just some thoughts, it's a little difficult in distinguishing the breads and I've got the onion and cheese mixed up sometimes, and it's kind of harsh when you make a mistake you get to start all over.
I worked for 5 years at Subway so I am a bit biased haha, loved it ;)
Phenomenal game \( ^0^)/
I really enjoyed playing, everything was simple to understand, yet still challenging enough to create an engaging experience. I loved the artwork, the music was very fitting and calming, and the whole idea of serving sandwiches to aliens is so original and humorous. I noticed in the comments that others had mentioned my only major concern: that being the difficulty in differentiating certain ingredients. I agree with them that the colors play a role in the difficulty, but also the shape language; I believe that the colors were perfectly fine, as long as the shapes are still unique enough.
If you do see it as more fair to the player if you make the colors different, I think another fun way to increase the challenge would be for customers to change their orders while you're making it. For example, once you put on the meat, they customers thought bubble could change to an ellipses or maybe a "wait!" for a moment, then change back so that all the ingredients you had placed so far are the same, but now the next ingredient you need to place is olives instead of peppers or something. It would keep players on their toes, it could become more common as the days progress to increase the difficulty, and it's kind of funny because people do that in real life. It's just a suggestion though, so do with it what you will.
Overall, great job on making a great game! :D
This is a very interesting yet harsh job sim, and I love it! I think my experience was drastically better than others just with the knowledge of the intended perfect play requirement, and that sweaty carefulness made this game feel great. Aside from gameplay, I do like the simplicity of the sandwich itself, and also the cute monster customers you are serving. Never worked at Subway before but this seems pretty accurate :D. Nice work!
A few issues that I can say on top of my head was that it's quite hard to distinguish between the cucumber and the lettuce at a glance as they look really similar and having the same colour, making this one of the easiest causes of a failed attempt. The game also does not push the player enough to force players making rushed decisions, which I think drags down the speed of the game and makes it less exciting. Something like tightening the timer would do te trick.
Anyway, this is a very nice entry indeed! Well done!
Hi and thanks for playing! I very much appreciate the feedback!
For the cucumber/lettuce along with cheese/yellow peppers I did intend for it to make it hard for people but in playing feel I went a tad too far with the difficulty and should of darkened further, I just wanted a failing option early on but think more play testing could of helped.
As for the rush that was partially intentional but looking back I know what I did wrong. I wanted the player to feel like the first 2 days are easy to make it accessible, days 3-4 like you have to have some speed, day 5 to be where good players fail, and day 6 to be near impossible. Looking back, I should of made days shorter and timer proportionally faster but that's just learning from comments.
Once again, thanks for the helpful feedback! I'm checking yours now!
Love all the monster designs and having a leader board is a nice touch! Had a good time playing a few rounds.
I love this! The character art is very unique and the overall gameplay is very fun. Great game!
Really well executed game, chill to play, made me hungry! Good job!
Nice chill game, I want to suggest some kind of a garbage mechanic when making a mistake..
a scoreboard is a really cool touch that I need to learn how to do ahahahaha
Very fun game. The nothing can go wrong theme fit very well with how you need the ingredients in the exact order, and you cannot remove what you place. This forces players to slow down, which then creates tension with the timer. Well done!
SUBWAY are Mars!?!?! yes, subway on mars. Super cool game man!
Lowkey, I love all papas pizzeria esque games, so this is awesome sauce!! :3 I will say, though, i had a bit of trouble distinguishing between :sob: Awesome game tho, the vibes were superb!!
