Great vibes and great adventure! It feels very Appx N, but I could also see if fitting in with a Mothership style game too. Awesome job! The map is fantastic! I really like that it’s in a nice blue ink as well. Lots of great choices and design throughout!

Developer

Thank you! And yes, when I wrote it, it got to me that it'd also be perfect for a Mothership game!

The font is a bit small. If this is being printed at A5, the referee will need sharp eyes. I would suggest trimming the text down and bumping it up a point size or two.

The background could be tightened up a lot. While interesting, it doesn't add much to the adventure, beyond Earth being a ruin, the home of an imprisoned horror, and ghouls searching the planet for it. Cuts like that would let you bump up the font size or add more white space back into the document.

Interesting setting and a great subgenre we don't see often enough.

Thank you!

The art and the map are excellent. Layout is clean and clear. The only thing I'd like more of is variety of creatures and environmental hazards. But it's atmospheric and thoroughly playable as is. I'm particularly interested as it's science fantasy, which for me is the key ingredient of Appendix N. Nice work.

Thank you so much!

I loved the theme and story, very thematic with Appendix N. As a DCC Judge, I would probably turn this adventure into Funnel, mainly due to the high level of mortality and weirdness. Excellent.

Edit.: Great layout and art too,

Thank you! I love Dungeon Crawl Classics and how it oozes Appendix N vibes. So it's safe to say that DCC is one of the inspirations! Yes, I think it would be perfect as a funnel in DCC!

Excellent job all around, from the writing, dungeon design, and layout. Bonus points for a great isometric map!

I love the effort thats been put into make this easy to run and including some great tips I especially appreciate that final tip on giving information freely which I feel can be a real tripping point for investigative games with the temptation of hiding even simple things behind rolls. The layout is super clean and art is really nice. Big fan of the vibe and could totally see myself running this for a cool oneshot. Awesome work!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes, the tips at the beginning are some great advice that I got from playing old school style Tabletop RPGs. I recommend checking out  Electric Bastionland and reading the Conductor (GM) section! I'm glad you like it!

Awesome little adventure! The layout and maps are amazing!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I really appreciate it!

A very clean and legible module. I had an easy time reading through it and understanding the whole concept of the adventure (which is real important for a GM). I also love the cover art a page design.

Top idea to avoid the obvious knight errant plot, making the hero into the prison of the beast is solid thinking.

Putting spacemen and knights together is a definite sci-fantasy trope, so absolutely appendix N.

Obviously if this was a movie, when the astronauts reach the inner sanctum, the viewers will also be muttering “don’t touch anything, just leave.” But in ttrpgs, as in movies, there’s always someone who thinks “what’s the worst that could happen…?”  Answer- it’s an old school game, so the  worst thing is usually pretty grim.

Really atmospheric and looks great to play

Developer

Yes! When I got the title, I didn't want to make it obvious or straightforward that The Knight Errant is a player character or the plot revolves around Knights doing quests. I had to twist it to make it weird. Thank you for your thoughts!

Great science-fantasy adventure that presents a classic no-win situation. I appreciate the introductory material, and the isometric map is wonderful!

Thank you so much!

A stellar introduction giving the general information to make sense of the adventure but also OSR-style play.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Some of the folks from my local community aren't too familiar with OSR-style play and adventure module. Hence why I feel the need to include the information. Glad you like it!

Layout is great and the map has wonderful details. I like this adventure a lot. Totally deadly in a variety of ways! I see it working well for a one-shot. The science fantasy is well done, as well.

Developer(+1)

This means a lot! Thank you!

Joining the chorus of folks praising the exquisite map, truly one of the best of the whole jam!

A great tragic science-fantasy adventure that is both super flavorful & seemingly easy to run right out of the gate. Superb job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate it!

I love this one, the cover is banging and that iso map is my favourite from the jam so far.  Also love the concept of the Knight quarantining themselves to save the planet, so sad but great adventure fodder

Developer(+1)

I truly appreciate it! My partner truly deserves all the praises for the isometric map and the cover! I'm glad you like the story. I wanted the Knight's story to be tragic, so it's cool that folks vibe with that!
