Really nice Game the Gameplay and the music is so relaxing Keep up the good work!

The modeling of Snow Mountain is excellent, the gameplay has great potential, and I really like the moral of the game"everything is going up"

I liked the graphics and the music and sound effects. I was not able to get very far because I couldn't figured out where I had to go. I would recommend than instead of having invisible walls you add some visual indicator (rocks, trees, fallen logs, etc) to block the players path, as invisible wall can be very annoying for players. With some polishing this game can become something fun and enjoyable. Keep up the good work!

i got stuck outside the map

Submitted

My first run I managed to get myself stuck outside the map, but as a fellow Unity dev, I get that that happens all the time. Second run I made it all the way to the end, slowly piecing together that I was the son of the great mountaineer. I would say the bits of campfire dialog were probably the highlight of the game, though the text scrolling could go a bit faster.

A couple suggestions for your particle systems: for the fire particles, if you change the type from a billboard to a mesh, then put an icosphere/cube or other similar mesh on it, it will look a lot more fitting with the rest of the games graphics. The wind could probably be improved if you enabled noise, reduced the noise strength so the noise is only slightly noticeable, made the particle a bit smaller, and then enabled trails.

Interesting game, I hope you are planning on developing this further as i see a great game here with lots of possibilities.  I love the atmosphere and feel of the game.

i can't play it because the menu there's no Start or anything i thing because of the ui bigger than my screen.

As people have mentioned, the pace did feel quiet slow. But the movement (animations) and camera felt really smooth for this kind of game. GJ on the project!

The pace is quite slow, but it's cute and simple to understand. I wanted the camera to be behind the char's back, so that the world would actually feel as if going up step by step. Nice sound design, maybe just a bit too much flutes to my taste (would love more ambient music/sounds of the mountain here).

I liked the story and the way you told it gradually. The sound fit very well, i especially liked the footsteps. Also, I found the characters really cute!

Pretty cool game. The visuals are really cool and the sound effects are great as well. I got stuck multiple times and had to restart the game. The ice block doesnt respawn at the last campfire

Great use of particle effects! cute little adventure too. I got locked out of progression moving an ice block with no way to restart had to force quit the game and start it over from the beginning.

Developer

thanks, yeah, the ice bloc system were kind of wierd 😅

What a great experience. The atmosphere is wonderful and the footstep audio makes the snow feel like actual snow. In my opinion the movement speed and the pacing of the story was a bit too slow. The animations were nicely done and the use of the icecubes was a good idea. Excellent entry for the jam!

Peaceful and calming aside from the bugs.

I ran into issues which prevented me from continuing and required restarting the game; falling  out of the area/through the ground, ice block stuck, unpassable wind, climbing into air when interacting with an NPC.

Looking past that, I did enjoy the game. The music and atmosphere took me away, along with the story snippets while resting at the campfire. Good stuff.

Thanks for playing, I will fix them when the jam ratings will end!

Really cute style! Sadly I think it got bugged right at the very end, the stamina isn't enough to climb the last cliff and the bar goes negative - when you interact with the fire, it starts trying to "climb" it and you just fly off into the sky haha

Apart from that, I really like the atmosphere. If it were possible to make it faster, especially walking and the text dialogues, it'd be really awesome!

Developer

thank you ! Yeah I ran into this issue as well, it is due to the campfire placement, the infinite stamina is normal, the charactere is really determined to climb the end but with the part that you are flying I juste  forgot to change his position but we can say that as he is going to the heavens 😅🤣

Haha he truly made it to the highest peak possible! ;D

i couldn't play the game. i only got as far the animation and no further. but the graphics looked good and the fire anim was smooth.

Developer

Well done guys! Super cute game and for the most part gameplay was super smooth!

I would say maybe turn up the speed of the character and the dialogue slightly as it tends to drag at times. It's not horrible, but I think upping the speed of things would make it more noticablle to players when the wind and other factors are working against them!

Also, I would highly suggest turning down the sound of the footsteps! It has some good SFX, but it's significantly louder than the music and very repetitive. I want to hear the cute music playing in the background!

Overall, very well done!

It's very pretty! I love the look of the trees, the overall visual style and everything. I really like the idea of the story too, it was nice to slowly learn more of what was going on and the ending was very emotional!

In general it's somewhat slow - you could certainly speed up the text scroll a lot for my taste. I also found it a bit hard to figure out how the wind worked, in a couple instances I got separated from my ice block and then just sort of had to muscle through - it would be nice if it could somehow be a little clearer that the block was blocking the wind, or which areas were walkable or not.

Developer(+1)

thanks ! I agree with you, I had big trouble with the wind part not working properly in addition the mouvements were really slow because of the animation mouvement, it was my first time animating and it was a big pain in the a...

The animations look great! I actually think it’s good that the walking/climbing parts are slow, it adds to the feeling of struggle to get up the mountain
