I appreciate y’all! I know it’s difficult to update to godot 4 if your project deploys to web. I understand about the AUR thing. I’ll message that package maintainer next. What I’ve gathered is Godot has changed the reference “godot” in linux pkgs to point to 4 latest instead of 3 latest so when u dl and install from AUR the pkg manager compiles with the wrong version. So, I’ll ping the maintainer next. Thanks for all your hard work. I can’t wait to try the new features!

App is not launching from itch.io app on linux Manjaro. Attempting to Compile results in OS package manager compiling against godot4 instead of 3.5.2. (Package is from the AUR -Arch Linux- repos.) There doesn’t seem to be a straight forward way to DL a functioning latest version for linux, without doing some serious editing to the build scripts.

Yes. This is a great start. It’s hard, but I think it is the right amount of difficult!

Thanks Anamura! We’re so happy you enjoyed it.

It’s so great to hear that Alyssa! WE had discussions about heightening the connection between player and character in design meetings. Glad we could give you a little adventure with our little robot!

Thank you. It was an interesting mechanic to program.

Hi Wandering Peak, thanks for playing our game! It’s a really tricky jump. Rusting yourself can help! But I find it’s best to really make sure you are jumping at the last possible second and really holding the spacebar down for maximum jump!

Some great ideas there. ;)

The art and music and writing is top notch! I def want to play more.

Thanks and that is a fun idea!

Ah. Thanks.

I made the print. Still stuck :(

I got stuck after checking for the shadow on the terminal… any hints?

gratz!

Honestly I completely forgot about the lockon mechanic! I’ll give it another go.

That art! and such a cute story!

Thank you for the feedback. Once the rust meter is full it should give you the option to restart the level - is this not happening for you? If so, there may be a pretty big bug. Thank you again, I appreciate you play testing this game!

these are great suggestions. Thank you. I think for now, as an accessibility update, I will remove the rust damage applied when falling. We can see how that feels going forward. And then after the jam I would like to aplly some of the additive elements you described, like the robot bodies and grinding gears sfx! great ideas!

It’s a good dark story with a bit of a twist.

Lot’s of action! sometimes the hitboxes didn’t seem to register. The maze was really tough! Mtached the characters tough attitude. Really cool font for the games title.

Great use of particle effects! cute little adventure too. I got locked out of progression moving an ice block with no way to restart had to force quit the game and start it over from the beginning.

ah yeah the thing where you restart on a the next level is a bug. I’ll patch that out tomorrow, thanks for pointing that out.

Yes, I 100 percent agree. Have been in discussion with another level designer about this. We were also thinking that if we rewarded the player for trying and failing that the negative feedback loop might still work. One of the design choices we made was to force the player to decide when to quit (up to a point.) But what I am hearing is that it just feels too bad? What do you think, would some positive reinforcement help soften the blow of the feedback loop or is it just too punishing all together? One thing I have discovered is that our game is not that accessible because of this. really hard core platform players love the punishment, while the rest of us find it daunting (myself included lol.)

Would love some feedback! https://itch.io/jam/advjam2023/rate/2110192

We look forward to rating your game. Do u plan on making a video about your process?

I really like the double resolution and the falling action after the first resolution was satisfying!

I liked the lighting effects. The movement was frustrating. I think the spin could stop faster and that would make traversing the environment more enjoyable.

even when I have the correct item equiped the game will restart sometimes. REally cool idea. I really wanted it to work.
