This topic was a must for itch community. Here we'll share analytics and stats of our projects.

My stats:  670 views, 12 followers, 41 downloads, 5 payment and $121.00 gross revenue. I know that's kinda small, but good for now, at least better than nothing. Link. Please share yours.

(+2)

I looked at your game page. The Minecraft influence is clear, and I don't know how well it all works, but even if only half of the listed features would work: this is insanely impressive work for a young solo dev!

I'm sure those stats will go up over time...

(1 edit) (+1)

Thanks ^_^. Here I followed you.

(1 edit) (+1)

Bro I have like 4k views 550 downloads and 17 followers but I'm broke (on itch.io) I wish i had $2.00 lol

I have 30 followers, 85 downloads, 31 followers, 0 payment and $00.00 gross revenue. But I'm asking myself right now about that, AM I A VICTIM OF BOTS, I JUST JOINED THERE SOME MUTIPLE MONTHS AGO.

Or just because people are interested in my work?

Cool. How did you did that just in a year?

Hello I am smokedplant (a plants vs zombies fan) or MythicalX. I have 15.7k posts, 405, topics, 121 followers (because of the fnf post I made which has been deleted by me), and I'm following 1 person which is Mochi.

(+5)

In nearly five years of itchio and three games: 63,537 pageviews, 13,761 browser plays, 6,760 downloads and a somewhat miserly $19.99 in donations! Not that I aren't grateful for them, of course. Hopefully, we've learnt and improved enough to put out a commercial game next and make a success of it.

Away from the stats, it's been great to see the comments of people who've enjoyed the games, and videos of people who've played them on Youtube and Twitch- and itchio's been good for getting to know new people and making friends with people from very different backgrounds.

We're also on 199 followers so, if anyone wants to push us up to 200, I'll be very happy XD

(+1)

I would like to push you up to 200, but would you push me up too i.e. follow back. Look I followed you. Push me up to 5.

(+1)

Ah, go on then!

(1 edit)

So, two years have passed- not quite a weekly update, but nm.

And we've just released a fourth game- a point and click style adventure called Five Day Detective. Go play it, it's good XD
Anyway, our stats are now:

Views 103k

Downloads 10.1k

Browser Plays: 22.4k

Revenue $23.99 (we can afford an extra coffee to share since last time!)

Also, we're on 299 followers so... once again, who wants to be 300???

Good job that's a lot of views. I don't check mine as much these days but still going strong

Well, you're a lot richer than us! And that's a lot of colours too. We don't get nearly so many different referral sites.

Forums and obscure websites is the best way I've found to get a steady flow

Plus I've got a Bandcamp aswell which brings a bit of traffic and revenue

(+4)

Here are my measly stats:

I've been here for about 1.5 years, and have 6 games up by now (all free, half of them playable in browser).

Total views: 611. Downloads: 107. Browser plays: 185. Collections: 4. Payments: 0.

That's pretty low considering the effort put into some of these games, but I'm hardly doing any "marketing", because I hate it. If I post a link somewhere, I get a couple dozen of plays, but after a few days that dies out. My current best (and most fun!) strategy to get my games played is to make browser games for game jams. :-)

Dang! You, my friend, are underrated. I'll play some of your arcade games when I have time.

I've been here for a little over two years  and have 37 items  posted which include games, asset packs, and art.   There's 4,676 views, 304 downloads, and 24 followers.

I've been on Itch for about 2 years and have two games -- Wallet Warrior for a Game Jam and Scrapship which is still in development.

My Scrapship devlog has 7,501 views, which I find very promising once I get the game finished.

Not bad for my first game, Grizzly Grove, a NSFW HTML game launched on April 6th, 2022. Well, it's not so new, I've been working on its development since November 2020, and many people helped to improve it on its development (both on discord and F95Zone). I want to thank to anyone who donated me, it means so much that people donate to a free game like mine. And I have planned lots, lots of updates for this game. I'm amazed how well has been received my game on this community, I love you guys <3

I've been on here 2 months just over 800 views.  83 downloads and made $33. I've done a lot of advertising though. A lot of retro gaming forums is where my views come from. My games  have been DOS games and retro unity games. I'm talking unity 2.6! From 2007.  Plus I've made some soundtracks aswell and marketed them as table top RPG atmospheric tracks. So I've had a lot of D&D players download. It's all FREE to or pay what you want! Trying to make niche games has definitely helped.

I'll edit I'm actually using old hardware aswell a 2009 macbook and a 2004 g4 powerbook. Even used Mac os9 for my soundtracks. Not flexing here but I'll note the Powerbook cost me 10 bucks at a garage sale!

3 years here and only 1 game/visual novel released, the demo was out for 2 years and the comlete version came out recently: 2,164 views, 199 downloads, 3 ratings, 126 collections, 6 comments, 29 followers. 0 dollars because it is free and no donations were required.

It is probably low, but I am still happy  and overjoyed people played the game :D

This is an interesting topic!

Gives some good insight into how different types of games work on itch.

It seems like browser playable is the way to go for views, but not so much for donations.

Anyway here is my stats.

(1 edit) (+1)

Thanks buddy.

Btw did you try to advertise your assets?

(+1)

Advertise? Here on itch.io or in other websites?

(+2)

On itch.io.

It worked for me.

Try to post frequently on the community. Like first I only had 2 followers and few downloads and browser plays on my games which were mostly me playing my own game.

Now since I started posting here, I have 15 followers and better analytics( but not that good ).

I also created a YouTube channel but that didn't help at all.

(+1)

Well, I tried other places but now I am ignored in a cool variety of social media. Guess I'll give it a try to itch.io community

(+2)

Good luck 👍

(+3)

Would be interesting to see just out of interest. The highest paid devs on here. Top 5 even

After 40 days on itch, I have 1282 views, 81 downloads, 690 browser plays, 3 USD. Very grateful for the support!

This seems interesting. It's kinda hard to get context if my downloads and such are below or above average for this site, so it's interesting to see.

About 60 or 70 usd from my two games ( their both free  so I'm not expecting riches here)

3892 views

444 downloads

Kinda would be cool to get more downloads and feedback mostly, especially when I just updated my game, but from what I understand games don't get boosted in the search/recomendation unless it's a new game or a release of a work in progress game, right?

I've definitely seen some games get a big boost long after they were released. Could be they're boosted after a period of interest.

Do you think that happens because of insite stuff? Or maybe it's just the case that people promoted their games somewhere else and simply got more people to click on the game link wherever it was posted?

Probably the second one- or maybe some streamer drew attention to it.

Heyo! Here are my stats (I am a TTRPG dev btw). I was REALLY grinding it out on Twitter until I left, so that’s why it’s so high. If anyone wants to ask me a question on tips, lmk! Just know that I am VERY proud of every single person here making a game. Y’all have created art, and you should be proud!

Also, keep in mind I have made a lot of games and most of these downloads come from jams I’ve joined!

(+1)

Wooooah :0

Ty!!! A lot of it was marketing day in and day out which I don’t do anymore because I have chronic fatigue now, but if you’re up to the grind and making connections, you can do it too!

This also through 2 years, so it’s not a short amount of time

(+1)

Got any tips for getting your games out there?

Tbh, marketing the heck outta yourself, participating in game jams and weekly events on social media, and meeting other game devs and collabing there are all great options!

(+1)

solid my friend well done.
