Cute art style.

Would this genre be called "tower offense"?

I won most of the levels just by randomly clicking stuff.  I probably could have gone with a better strategy if I had experience with tower defense games.

Fun game with cute art, really enjoyed playing it! It could benefit from more strategic depth and rebalancing, as currently spamming units quickly seems to be the most effective approach. Nonetheless, the theming and aesthetic are great. Well done!

Fun game, it's easier to tell which unit will do what than in most other reverse tower defenses I played in this jam. Although without a money system, it lacks some strategy, the answer seems to always be to through as many people as you can as quickly as you can to distract the turrets, which is a shame

Such a sweet game, the art is so cute! Wish it were a little more challenging but other than that, its great!

wow we are suppose to send in enemies to win a game in TD?  great idea!

Great theming on the game. As others have mentioned, just spamming the buttons is the way to win. If you take this further you should tell us what the units do too. As im sure that'll contribute to the strategy

Fun idea and I love the aesthetic of the candy kingdom so much. Needs a little rebalancing, I found that spamming units whenever they were off cooldown was enough to get deathless in most levels since the AI couldn't keep up, but that can be fine tuned later. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing!
Yeah I agree, I just did not get to balancing the game. It is planned to balance it and add some more levels post jam.

The game was very well made overall, but I felt the gameplay a little off. Maybe if there was some sort of cost to each unit I would feel a bit more engaged.

The game was great anyways, great work!

Something like in Ghost Hacker 2 ? Maybe it could have worked better.

I didn't play this game, but the point was I felt no consequence to spawning as many units as I wanted. Besides that the game felt great!

Sweet presentation (pun intended!)! A little easy for my taste tho, as there is no monetary system involved, it relies on your ability to spam units when cooldown is on.

I get that's a jam game though, and it's a good one! Nice reference to that 2000's candy :)

Good job team!

Developer

You were meant to get the as few deaths as possible here.

I like the theming around it being a candy prison. Also was fun thinking of a strategy to get my people across

This was a sweet game to play through; the presentation was nice!

I think it will be interesting to have an update there the AI is able to place new turrets as time passes 🤔

Developer

Thanks! That is a very interesting idea.

The idea of reverse tower defence game is pretty neat, not gonna lie...

It doesn't really involve that much strategy though, you can win by merely just spamming all units...

It doesn't mean that the game isn't fun, though. I still had a good time playing this short little game and the candy land aesthetics really improve the experience!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I understand that. In the heat of the jam the game is left pretty unbalanced.

Submitted(+1)

Relatable, balancing in a game jam is by far the most difficult part.
Still, good job at making this game, you guys did great!

Cozy reverse tower defence game. Love it!

Cute game! I especially loved the character designs!

this game looks so good! I found it pretty easy to beat without deaths, but was still a fun time

I love the art style and everything especially the character ideas are super unique and creative.

Cute cute art. I love that you had a death count to make sure that players sent out the jawlbreakers with strategy instead of just sending them out willy nilly.
