Very cool! I got 403 on my first attempt!
That's an unexpected premise! The mechanics are very interesting, although I did not plenty understood the optimal way to play. After several attempts I eventually beat the game, so I guess I somehow learned how to play.^^' It's very challenging, but at the same time it gives very interesting puzzle. I like the alternance between opting for the immediately optimal move, or planning for the future. Having strong cool-down on most actions however means that there are some turns where you have to destroy your plants. Which I guess is part of the gameplay loop, but it makes the game a bit punishing towards middle-term error. Still, it was fun to solve each situation, and discover regularly discover new moves. The art and music are also incredible, I love une world it presents! This mix between epic evil and cozy gardening is the right amount of silly! Incredible entry overall.
Amazing game! Great concept (funny) and really polished! Had a lot of fun playing it. Couldn't make it to the leaderboard unfortunately. Will try again though. Haha, Great job!
Visually stunning game all of the design that went into this is perfect! I’m just not very good at it haha but I love this concept and think there is so much room to expand upon it!
woah great game all around, awesome visuals, great soundtrack, really fitting sound effects, and engaging gameplay! only improvements i can think is unifying some of the UI with style of rest of game, speeding up the planting animation (I think they might all have the same animation time, but it seems long for first one because he doesnt need to move. might be the same for some of the upgrade cards but idr), and I think a skull icon over crops youre going to kill would be good like if you're about to water plants that are already ripe, instead of showing the water icon. might need a different visual effect so player knows its from watering and not from movement. Seriously great work though! Also that cover photo goes so hard, i love it xD
Well polished in many ways. Awesome game art and effects. A different font wold improve the looks so much! Awesome game!
Feel free to hop into my game as well and share your thoughts and ratings if you have the time!
Wow ! Amazing concept and visual ! For a moment i forgot that i was playing a game from a 48h jam. It's stunning how polish your game is. I needed a couple of runs to get the good ending.
Solid entry, gg !
A great way to explore this concept, the role reversal with the boss was common throughout the game jam submissions, but this is by far the most unique take on it I have seen. The only noticeable issue with the game was if you entered actions too quickly you could mess up the turn order (especially when selecting a new skill). Great job on the game!
FRUSTRATION!!!
Very good game, I was a bit confused about how to use powers well without crushing everything in my path, but what can you expect from a demonic hellbender-turned-farmer :')
Definite replay value! The music fits really well, game fits the theme nicely! Very good for 48hrs, well done! :)
Edit: Made it to 11 on the leaderboard in the second play through! yaaaas
What a screenshot haha, I feel so bad for you!
Thank you very much for playing and giving feedback!
This is a great game. I really like your interpretation of the theme. There are a few bugs but nothing that significantly effects the gameplay. The art is awesome and the music is epic. It's also super well polished. Great job!
The game is awesome! The art and music are incredible! Very well done! As a suggestion, you can use another color combination in the description of the new skill "cards" instead of yellow and white, and improve the font used. I think it might help the reading. Other than that, excellent job!
Glad you liked the game, thanks a lots for playing!
You're totally right, artistic choices for UI was kinda poorly made (I can say it, I'm the one who did it :p ), I sometimes think of the looks before readability and that's a mistakes. I hope your eyes will forgive me!
I never felt so badass gardening before. What you managed to get done within 48 hours is seriously impressive, it's very well-polished and with satisfying gameplay too. This is easily my favorite game jam game so far from what I've played. Absolutely great job!
This was really well made and polished. Interesting mechanics and overall a good submission.
Love this game guys. Arts and music are both amazing, and the concept is truly lovely. Good job, really!
The only issue I had is the rigth mouse click for moving the camera, which was behaving in a funny way, dont know if I was doing it wrong or what else, but this is just to report it to you, not a big deal xD
Considering this is a 48-hour game jam, what you guys did here was amazing. I am still confused about how you guys coordinated to create such a fleshed-out game! Kudos to all of you! The game felt so well-made and was incredibly fun to play. I did encounter a small bug with the upgrading UI and the end screen, and that is the only nitpick I can give you guys lol. Everything is just so goodddddddddd.
Thanks a lot! It's not our first jam and we're used to working together, so our coordination begins to be on point, glad it shows!
And sorry for that UI bug, we're aware of it, we didn't see it before the release unfortunately :/
This game is so fun. It is so simple but it still has an interesting game loop.
Thank you for playing!
Very unique game idea and gameplay.
The mechanics for the farming are simple yet so interesting.
Great Job.
Thanks a lot for you kind words, glad you enjoyed it :)
This game is amazing! In fact, it is the best game I've seen in this jam so far!
The idea is pretty simple, actually, but it was executed pretty well! It is neat, that all different actions do is affect different regions of relative to your... uhm... "hero". My real only nitpick, is that it's often not immediately clear, what tiles new moves will affect, but that's not that big of an issue, really.
Your team did an incredible job at making this this! The game looks very polished, and the art of the game is great! I especially love, when games have 3d stages with 2d characters on it!
Thank you very much or the kind words! Glad you liked our little game!
Thanks for the feedback, it's much apreciated! We are currently working on a post-jam version which should fix the visual feedbacks for better understanding of the player's moves.
Oh, you're the one who made Caverse, gotta go back playing to get to 15 haha!
Its really fun and I'd love to see it expanded. My biggest issue is with the camera. I repeatedly missed what I was trying to do because I'd move the cursor to where I wanted to do the action, then the camera would suddenly jump right before I clicked
Thanks a lot for playing and giving feedback!
That's strange! Did you use a mouse or a pad?
Mouse, fullscreen 1080p. The boundary for moving the camera seemed to be around 30% of the screen
Ok I know what happened, it's because of how the camera is implemented, I had to cut corners when implementing the camera to make it doable during the timeframe of the jam... It works quite well for most effects, but not those that can be placed on a specific cell, like teleportation, the camera movement prevents you to place it too close from your character ...
I'll try to improve it for the post jam patch that we'll release right at the end of the jam, so stay tuned ! And thanks a lot for your kind words !
I'm looking forward to it!
Wow, that's an amazing game!
I've replayed it multiple times, but I'm not very good at it, haha. It would be nice to have some sort of free movement card to help with positioning. It was really difficult to use the skills in the most effective way without destroying most things.
But overall, I had a lot of fun playing it!
