No problem, it's just as valuable to learn that it's confusing. We're constantly looking for ways to improve the game so we'll make sure to make this clearer in our next update. Thanks for clarifying!

Hi! Which things were these?

Thanks so much for the feedback! You losing HP - was this the Siren fight? If so this is unfortunately a bug where she's set incorrectly to attack when she should be shielding, sorry about that!
We'll be working a lot of the UX post jam to hopefully make everything super clear, as we don't want the game to feel unfair.

Thanks for playing!

I lost it at "NOT AGAIIIIN" 😂 Great game, really enjoyed it!

Thank you for playing! We'll make a tutorial after the jam so things get explained better. ^_^

Thank you for playing! We're 100% applying fixes and extra cards post-jam. We likely will try to make a full version too!

Thank you for playing! The mermaid is bugged currently which makes her much harder than she should be. We'll fix it as soon as the jam is over though!

It's so easily done isn't it? 😂 Okay I'm glad, one less bug to fix!
Thank you so much for all the feedback! I'm keeping a big list of it all because it's really helpful, so I appreciate it!

Thanks for all the feedback! I realised that the main character looked a bit like Anya so I made a deliberate reference on one of the cards >:D
We'll probably opt for only adding one card in the future per fight to help balance it, but with the number of fights I wanted people to be able to try a larger number of cards in just one playthrough, but that does push it on the easier side.
There is music in the game, three different tracks - did it not play? Could you hear sound effects or was it all sound? We've not had anyone else report it, but if it's a bug we'd like to fix it!

This was really fun! Very great take on the theme too, lots of strategic elements to it. Great job!

I gave it a go but got the same bug, sorry to hear about it. I'll come back to play it later though, it looks and sounds really cool!

Thank you so much!
So I went into the project to check, and yes, you are right - The Siren is supposed to block, but instead is mistakenly set to attack. Thank you for pointing this out, we'll make sure to fix it!
And thank you, we'll be updating the game to add extra cards, rebalance and fix bugs for sure!

Losing all your cards is not intentional - that's a bug. Sorry for that, but thank you for pointing it out, we'll make sure to fix it!
At the moment, enemy AI picks a random move from a list, and those moves can do variable damage from a range. It's weighted to try and be as fair as possible, but it still leaves room for bad RNG unfortunately and we didn't have the time to make it more precise. Sorry you weren't able to finish, but thank you for playing!

Edit: So I've now discovered the Siren is mistakenly set to attack when she should be shielding. That's another bug and is likely what made this fight difficult. Very sorry!

Fun concept, the animations were cool, and the sound effects were implimented really well!

Really like the art! I think the gameplay is a bit repetitive, but I think what could help a lot is if you fight different enemies. At the moment, it feels like you're fighting a slime that never dies forever, but seeing enemies go down after every few hits might help give a sense of progression. I did like figuring out what everything was though!

Interesting game, loved the art! Only not-pick is not being able to see how many coins I had, but it was otherwise good!

Really love the concept! I think it's a bit hard at the moment though - it feels like you can't outrun the snakes so it's difficult to bait them into walls or mushrooms. If they went a bit slower than you, I think that would make it a bit easier!

Very much a minor thing, the game was honestly so great!

How did you make a game that's harder than the original 😂 I've seen a few games with this idea, but yours has been the best so far - I like how it's the same mechanic, but on the pipes instead. Really nice art too!

Really fun game! I ended up playing for ages 😅 Great art too!

The reason I asked - I usually use pixel art in Unity too and I had the blurry pixel art problem - it took me a while to figure out. On the sprite settings, if you set Compression to "None" and the Filter Mode to "Point: No filter" it should make it look all sharp. I hope that's helpful for the future! ^_^

Wow, this is by far the longest I have played a game in the jam! Was a lot of fun, glad I was able to finally beat it! Very well balanced in my opinion!
Minor nit-pick - I got frustrated at the game at first because I thought it was cheating me out of wins when the health bar looked like it was 0, there's a picture below (and only realised later that the health is also in the top corner). I think if this was clearer it would be helpful!

But overall, one of the best games I have played, super polished, beautiful art and sound and really fun gameplay! Great work!

Super unique concept, absolutely gorgeous art, really polished! I had a lot of fun guessing the reactions. Not sure if there's an ending I couldn't reach, but great game!

I really liked the puzzle aspect, even though it was straightforward, it still felt rewarding. Great game!

I saw my partner (KeaneWa below) playing this and just had to give it a try! Managed to beat him with 212 heh heh heh >:D Suuuuper fun game, definitely gonna come back and play again later!

Fun game with a really unique concept, not seen anything like this! Loved the art and the sound effects really made it. Great work!

Fun little game. The pixel art fit well with the concept!

Cute art, fun game! It was really well balanced too - great work!

3 hours? That's super impressive! I genuinely prefer this to flappy bird, it's so much less stressful 😂 Which engine did you use?

We're planning to add a bunch of animations post jam which should help with that, and just slow the fights down a bit by handling each thing one by one so you can take in everything that happens between turns. We'll make sure we add an indication of low health with graphics and sound too. Thanks a lot for all the feedback!

Ooh, so Unlight has cards where you can see both outcomes on the front side, that's a good way to do it - we've had some problems with people not knowing what's on the other side. Thank you for the kind feedback!

The final boss is actually based on programmer art 😂 Glad you enjoyed it! We'll update all the text to make it much clearer after the jam too. :D

Great concept, the voice acting had me hooked instantly, it was great! Unfortunately I get a black screen after the second level though so I wasn't able to progress :( I enjoyed what I did play though!

Fun game, managed to beat it! I was a little bit confused why I would look up and see my health reset untiI I realised it's cookie clicker mentality where leveling up helps you take more damage so it's a balancing act. I enjoyed playing it a lot though, nice work!

One of the best concepts I've seen, and executed really well with gorgeous art! Minor nitpick that the tutorial's text had an arrow pointing upwards that made me think you could only move the top for a while, but that's really just me being dumb 😅 Great game, well done!

Super chill, pretty and polished experience! Also appreciate that you made it in your style. A perfect cosy game!

THIS IS SUCH A GREAT GAME! The gameplay is fun, the art is gorgeous, and the musical lillypads are such a nice touch! I'll be really surprised if you don't get featured at the end! Also side note, couldn't have asked for a better ending. Fantastic work!

Fun concept, and it was interesting to see all of the simulated balls. My only complaint is not being able to move obstacles between shots, but fun game overall!

Cute game! I especially loved the character designs!

Neat little puzzle game! Took me longer than it should to notice the button in the tutorial lesson though! 😂 Love the pixel art too, great work!
