Wow, made just under 3 hours, that's impressive! The constant bouncing noise was surprisingly pleasing, as was the scoring noise. I do wish there had been a bit more of a difficulty curve, though, and sometimes I couldn't seem to actually grab the trees, which was especially frustrating since they were moving so a failed grab meant that much more time pressure when trying again. (This seemed to happen much more often with the bottom tree than the top tree, and admittedly I'm playing with a trackpad which might make things worse.)

In the end, though, once again, only 3 hours! That's amazing that you got something so nicely playable in such a short amount of time!

I really enjoyed it! I've seen many flappy bird reversed games. This one was cool! I liked how you didn't do stereotypical Flappy Bird, you made it your own and ran with it! GG! One comment I have is that it sometimes wouldn't activate when clicking and dragging. Other than that great job! If you have time could you rate our game?

Developer

Thanksyou! and yes i will!

Great game! How about many many many many birds flying towards level end, and player controls the trees beat off all the birds!

at the start i was pressing space thinking i was flapping the bird. but then when i read the comments i realise i could move the trees. that was a ohhhhhh moment! i think you could do a little tutorial before the actual game start! but then again you did it in 3 hrs so its pretty good! great job!

A neat little concept! I'm blown away that you were able to get that working in only 3 hours. Seriously well done.

Developer

thank you!

Nice work, You even added sounds! Impressive given the short time available

Cool for 3 hours. Just wonder why you not polished it for more hours :D This could have been serious game :D

I was only able to work on the jam on the last day which is why I spent such a short time on it, and I cant update the game until the rating period is over. I will definitley be updating the game when able to do though.

for a 3hr game great work. Wish i could move the trees left right but 3 hours :D

It was cool that the Sound Effects sounded like Joust. Interesting color balance in the art style.

I'm impressed you only needed 3h to make this. I think we hadn't written a single line of code 3h in :D Though if you managed to create this from scratch in 3h, I would have definitely liked to see what you could have created in 48!

Developer

thankyou! i will definitley be updating this game after the voting/rating period.

Fun game, nice take on the theme!

You should've set the sprites' filter mode to "point", otherwise it was amazing for only 3 hours! :)

Developer

Thanks, will try that out when I update the game. Will see the difference it makes.

3 hours? That's super impressive! I genuinely prefer this to flappy bird, it's so much less stressful 😂 Which engine did you use?

Developer

Thanks! and I used Unity 2022.1.4f

The reason I asked - I usually use pixel art in Unity too and I had the blurry pixel art problem - it took me a while to figure out. On the sprite settings, if you set Compression to "None" and the Filter Mode to "Point: No filter" it should make it look all sharp. I hope that's helpful for the future! ^_^

Developer

this will be very helpful, thankyou!

Ive been using unity for about 4 years now and wasnt aware of this, I usually just scale my sprites up in piskel to get rid of the blur.

Will definitley be using this in the future!

Only 3 hours, this is really good for a 3 hour game.

3 hours? Nice, good job. What would the game look like if you had 48 hours? xD

Submitted(+1)

Only 3h ??? Impressive ! Quite fun, It is a bit weird to try to "catch" the trees with the mouse though.

Submitted(+1)

For a 3hour submission this is quite impressive so take my improvements as post jam suggestions rather than criticisms!

I love this approach to the reverse flappy bird concept, having it nature themed and moving trees around is quite unique!

Some improvements I would have made would be to have variance in SFX (it can become quite repetitive otherwise) even just dynamic pitch shifting would help.

Some variance in different tree sprites would also add some diversity, maybe having the biome shift as you play for longer :]

Cute short little game!

I really like this take on Flappy Bird, it fits the theme perfectly. I'd like to see the bird have more vertical movement and maybe move sideways occassionally as well, but this is really impressive given it was made in under three hours!

It was impressive what you managed to create in just under three hours! The controls felt surprisingly good.
